Gu Ye put his arm around Qiao Moya and said, "This is something I specially picked out for him, what do you think?"
While her mind was preoccupied with other things, Qiao Moya replied perfunctorily, "It's pretty good!"
Gu handed the room key to the woman and said, "Take good care of tonight's guest."
The woman said in English, "You've given me so much money, I certainly won't let you down!"
Gu waved his hand, and the woman left.
Jomoa asked in confusion, "Where did she go?"
"Where else can we go? Shang Yan's room, of course!" Gu Ye chuckled and lit a cigarette.
Qiao Moya then realized that the room key Gu Ye had just given her was for Shang Yan's room.
She wasn't foolish enough to ask him where he got the room key to Shang Yan's room; that was a small matter that could be easily obtained by spending a little money.
She knew perfectly well what Gu Ye was planning to do, but that wasn't what she wanted to do. It was no fun to let Shang Yan have a relationship with a prostitute; it would be much more interesting to have a relationship with Yu Sheng and be caught by Gu Ye!
While Qiao Moya was figuring out how to get Yu Sheng to Shang Yan's bed, Gu Ye called Yu Sheng, and after finding out where she was, he decided to go find her.
Qiao Moya couldn't openly follow them, so she asked Gu Ye directly, "How do you plan to drug Shang Yan?"
"You don't need to worry about that. I have a plan. Just wait and see!"
After Gu finished speaking in a tone as if he had planned everything, he went to find Yu Sheng.
After running away, Yu Sheng didn't go straight back to the hotel. Instead, she ran all the way to a deserted beach and felt better after enjoying the cool sea breeze.
After recovering, she originally planned to tell Gu Ye and go back to her room, but before she could send the message, Gu Ye called and said he was coming to find her.
That's good, it saves her from running into Shang Yan in the future.
She told him when he arrived and then went back to her room.
Gu arrived shortly after and, seeing Yu Sheng, pretended not to know anything and asked, "I've been looking for you but couldn't find you. Why are you here all by yourself?"
"It's a bit noisy over there, so I came here to find some peace and quiet," Yu Sheng lied.
"It is a bit noisy. Do you want to go back to your room?" Gu Ye asked.
Yu Sheng nodded.
“I just got here and saw you sitting there drinking alone. Let’s go over and thank him. I’m not keen on talking to him, but he saved you today. If we don’t say anything, it’ll seem like we don’t know how to be grateful.”
Yu Sheng hadn't expected that Gu would take the initiative to thank Shang Yan.
She originally wanted to send Shang Yan a thank-you message, but because of that thought, she didn't even have the courage to send him a message, let alone say it to his face.
But, just as Gu Ye said, he saved her, and it wouldn't be right for her to remain silent, so she agreed.
When she followed Gu Ye over, Shang Yan was indeed sitting on a bench outside a bar, drinking, just as he had said, with a gloomy expression and looking preoccupied.
Gu Ye glanced at Shang Yan with a calculating look, then said to Yu Sheng, "We thank our brother, but we can't drink his wine. I'll go in and buy some. You wait here for me."
Yu Sheng didn't want to stand there waiting, and more importantly, she was afraid that Shang Yan would turn around and see her, which would be embarrassing. So she said to Gu Ye, "I'll go in with you."
Gu hesitated for a moment before saying, "Okay."
Since Yu Sheng couldn't drink alcohol, Gu Ye ordered two glasses of whiskey and a glass of watermelon juice.
With Yu Sheng present, Gu couldn't drug the drink, so he played a trick on her, saying that Yu Sheng's makeup was a bit messy and asking her to go to the restroom to fix it.
Women love beauty, and Yu Sheng is no exception.
Moreover, she was going to see Shang Yan later.
After Yu Sheng left, Gu also put a drug in one of the cups of wine.
When Yu Sheng returned, Gu Ye was leaning against the bar, leisurely drinking his wine.
"Is it done?" Yu Sheng walked over and asked Gu Ye.
"The watermelon juice is freshly squeezed, so please be patient." Gu Ye said, then tilted his head back and downed the drink in his glass. He handed the glass to the bartender and said, "Another one, please."
The bartender placed the freshly squeezed watermelon juice on the plate, refilled Gu Ye's glass, and asked, "Do you need anything else?"
Gu said he didn't need anything, paid the bill, and left the bar with Yu Sheng.
Gu Ye was holding a freshly filled glass of whiskey, while Yu Sheng was holding a plate with her watermelon juice and the drink that Gu Ye had drugged.
As Gu Ye approached Shang Yan, he deliberately reached out and put his arm around Yu Sheng's slender waist.
Yu Sheng's attention was entirely on Shang Yan at the time, so Gu Ye's sudden action made her stiffen. She turned to look at him, and he smiled and said, "We should act more affectionate in front of you, brother."
Because of her nervousness, Yu Sheng didn't have the mind to guess what Gu Ye meant by those two sentences. She was also carrying something in her hands and couldn't push him away, so she could only let him pull her forward.
Shang Yan was looking down, wondering why Yu Sheng was avoiding him, when he noticed someone walking towards him. He turned his head and was stunned when he saw who it was. Before he could react, Yu Sheng and Gu Ye were already in front of him.
He looked at them, and before he could guess their purpose, Gu said with a fake smile, "Brother, Sheng Sheng fell into the water today. Thanks to your timely rescue, Sheng Sheng is alright. We came here to toast you and express our gratitude."
Something's not right!
This was Shang Yan's first reaction after hearing Gu Ye's words.
After he rescued Yu Sheng, he not only showed no gratitude, but also punched him because Yu Sheng gave him CPR. If he acted on impulse, shouldn't he have calmed down and thanked him when they met in the elevator later? But he didn't!
The fact that he specifically dragged Yu Sheng over to thank him is clearly a case of a weasel offering New Year's greetings to a chicken with ill intentions!
He frowned and stared at Gu Ye for a while, then looked at Yu Sheng. When their eyes met, she lowered her head in a panic. Shang Yan was already annoyed, and he became even more annoyed—what was she still afraid of him for?
Shang Yan was puzzled, but Gu Ye was preoccupied with his plan. He deliberately pinched Yu Sheng's waist with the hand that was around her. When Yu Sheng looked up at him, she saw him gesturing for her to thank Shang Yan with his eyes.
Yu Sheng hesitated for a moment, then whispered to Shang Yan, "Brother, thank you for saving me today."
Even as she spoke, she still dared not look Shang Yan in the eye.
Gu also placed the tray in Yu Sheng's hand on the table, gave the watermelon juice to Yu Sheng, and handed the drugged whiskey to Shang Yan.
Seeing that Shang Yan didn't answer, she felt a little annoyed. She pressed her tongue against the inside of her mouth and forced herself to say, "Brother, you're not still angry with me, are you?"
Shang Yan showed no mercy to Gu Ye, saying directly, "I'm angry!"
Gu was taken aback by Shang Yan's directness and lost face. If it weren't for the overall plan, he would have smashed his wine glass—what a shameless bastard!
Gu didn't say anything, but looked at Yu Sheng.
Yu Sheng was already planning to smooth things over, but when she saw Gu Ye looking at her, she held up the watermelon juice in her hand and said to Shang Yan, "Brother, I apologize to you on behalf of Gu Ye."
