Yueyue's giggles and pleas for mercy immediately followed.
Yu Sheng looked in the direction of the sound and saw Gu playing with Yueyue on the sofa.
"Madam, what brings you back?"
Gu Ye, engrossed in playing with Yueyue, turned around when Aunt Duan asked her a question. He was taken aback when he saw Yu Sheng standing at the entrance, then stood up and went over to her, saying, "Weren't you eating out with Sheng Ning? Why are you back all of a sudden?"
Gu Ye's gentle and handsome face appeared hypocritical and disgusting in Yu Sheng's eyes. Even the smile on his lips became sinister and strange. For a moment, an indescribable feeling permeated her mind and body, making her feel terrified and chilled.
Gu Ye noticed Yu Sheng's expression was off and asked, "What's wrong?"
As he asked the question, he reached out and touched Yu Sheng's face. Yu Sheng was so frightened that she backed away repeatedly. At the same time, she felt a surge of nausea and vomiting. She covered her mouth and ran to the bathroom.
She slammed the door shut and then vomited while sitting on the toilet.
This time, it wasn't just dry heaving, it was real vomiting!
Outside the door, Gu Ye heard Yu Sheng vomiting and asked worriedly, "Sheng Sheng, are you alright? Sheng Sheng?"
“Sir, please don’t worry, your wife’s symptoms are probably normal during pregnancy,” Aunt Duan said.
Yu Sheng, who was in the restroom, couldn't help but sneer when she heard what Aunt Duan said.
What she was experiencing wasn't pregnancy symptoms at all; it was just nausea and fear causing her stomach to contract.
After vomiting, Yu Sheng washed her face with cold water to calm herself down before opening the door.
Gu Ye had been standing outside the door the whole time. When he saw Yu Sheng, he asked anxiously, "Are you still feeling unwell?"
Yu Sheng couldn't look Gu Ye in the eye and avoided his gaze, saying, "Much better."
"What would you like to eat? I'll ask Aunt Duan to make it."
Yu Sheng shook her head: "I don't have much of an appetite."
"Then let's wait until we have an appetite before we talk about it."
After Gu finished speaking, he remembered that Yu Sheng and Sheng Ning had gone out to eat and said, "Didn't you go out to eat with Sheng Ning? Why are you back so early?"
"Sheng Ning has something urgent to attend to."
Without thinking, Yu Sheng finished speaking, then pretended to suddenly remember something and said, "Oh right, the day before we went to the Maldives, I rode in your car and I think I left my earring in your car. Give me your car keys and I'll go look for it."
Gu Ye didn't doubt what Yu Sheng said at all. He just felt that she was not feeling well, so he decided to go see her another day. Yu Sheng said, "I just need to go out for some fresh air."
Gu also took the car keys and said, "Then I'll go with you!"
Yueyue said timidly, "Then I want to go too!"
Yu Sheng glanced at Aunt Duan, who was carrying food to the dining table, and said, "Aunt Duan has already prepared the food. You and Yueyue can eat first. I can go by myself."
After she finished speaking, she grabbed the car keys and left without waiting for Gu to reply.
Yu Sheng returned to the garage, went to Gu Ye's Porsche, unlocked the car, and walked towards the trunk.
Her heart was racing, and she felt like she was committing a crime.
Her hands were shaking as she opened the trunk.
She thought she would see the mask she had glimpsed casually two weeks ago.
But there was nothing in the trunk!
Yu Sheng's eyes widened in disbelief!
She murmured, "Why is there nothing here? I clearly saw a mask here that day..."
Yu Sheng reached out and touched it unwillingly, but still couldn't find anything.
Could it be that I was hallucinating that day?
Or perhaps, after hearing Ruan Yihuan mention a mask club, she imagined a mask in Gu Ye's trunk?
As Yu Sheng bit her lip in deep thought, she heard a little boy's voice beside her—
"Dad, let's hide the game console here, then Mom won't be able to find it."
Yu Sheng looked back and saw them putting the game console into the second compartment of the trunk.

With excitement, Yu Shenglu lifted the partition, revealing a futuristic silver mask. At that moment, Yu Sheng's heart almost jumped out of her chest.
She wasn't foolish enough to take the mask away, as that would make her easily discovered. After taking a picture with her phone, she put the mask back somewhere far away and then dialed Sheng Ning's number.
As soon as the call connected, Sheng Ning's voice came through, "What's up, sister? You're not going to ask me to dinner again after you've finished your business, are you?"
"No, there's something I need your help with."
"What's up?"
"You know a lot of people, I'd like you to find someone to make me a mask."
Sheng Ning asked in confusion, "What mask?"
"Wait a moment, I'll send you the photos now."
After looking at the photos Yu Sheng sent, Sheng Ning asked, "Why are you making this mask?"
"It's hard to explain over the phone, let's talk about it when we meet."
Sheng Ning didn't ask any more questions, only when Yu Sheng needed it. Yu Sheng replied, "The sooner the better!"
Sheng Ning didn't tell Yu Sheng when it would be ready, she just said "Wait for my call" and hung up.
When Yu Sheng returned home, Gu Ye and Yueyue were still eating.
When Gu saw her come in, he immediately put down his chopsticks and went to greet her, asking, "Did you find it?"
As Yu Sheng changed her shoes, she replied, "I couldn't find it. It must have been lost somewhere else."
Gu Ye then asked, "What earrings? Are they important?"
"Ningning gave it to me." Yu Sheng continued to lie on top of her existing lie.
Upon hearing this, Gu Ye said in a nonchalant tone, "I thought it was a very important earring, a gift from Sheng Ning. So what if it's lost?"
Yu Sheng smiled but didn't reply.
"Are you feeling better? Would you like to eat with us?" Gu Ye asked.
"I'm not eating anymore, I want to lie down for a while, you guys eat."
