Chapter 67 What He Can Do
The two sat quietly facing each other.
A sweet, cloying feeling filled the air.
Hana blinked, surprised that a boy's skin could be so smooth.
However, on such a flawless face, there was actually a single eyelash or hair stuck to it!
It made her feel incredibly restless.
"Rukawa, close your eyes."
Rukawa Kaede's heart trembled slightly, and he obediently closed his eyes.
His expression didn't change much, but his breathing was somewhat irregular.
Huayin didn't notice his strange behavior. She reached out her left hand and gently touched the corner of his lower right eye.
The moment they touched, Rukawa Kaede tensed up, every muscle in his body tensing with nervousness.
Hana's mind was inexplicably distracted; a smooth, delicate touch, a dense, warm sensation, spread through her heart.
Her gaze unconsciously drifted away from her fingertips, then unconsciously touched his straight nose, before she suddenly snapped back to reality and found Rukawa Kaede sitting there motionless.
"Okay, you can open your eyes now."
Rukawa Kaede's Adam's apple bobbed, and he looked at her with an inscrutable gaze for a moment. "Why do you want me to close my eyes?"
"You lost an eyelash, let me take it off for you."
Rukawa looked down and saw that the eyelash had landed on Hanon's fingertip.
He gave a blank "hmm".
While taking a shower, Hanon suddenly realized—Rukawa Kaede, does he think she's going to kiss him?
…
As she came down from the third floor, Hana saw Rukawa Kaede waiting on the sofa on the second floor, his hands habitually in his pockets.
"Let's go to school together."
The thought of Rukawa's immense fate sent chills down Hana's spine. She thought, it's just going to school, she knows the way there well, there's really no need to go together.
But at that moment, Rukawa Kaede had already taken a step and taken her hand.
The two went down to the first floor.
Kana was waiting, and when she saw her, she immediately came up to her: "Oto-chan, I made you some coffee."
Hanon smiled and accepted it, "Thank you, Yumi."
Kana looked at the fox who was guarding against her like a thief with a teasing smile and said, "Looks like I'll have to go to school by myself."
After saying goodbye to Kana, Kanon held her coffee, wanting to take a sip to soothe her throat.
Rukawa Kaede: "You're not allowed to drink it, I'll buy it for you."
The hand wearing a black wristband took the coffee from her hand.
Hanon was a little confused, "?"
Mitsui, who was planning to skip class, dawdled for a long time, and happened to run into the two of them. He greeted them cheerfully, "You guys haven't gone to class yet either?"
No sooner had he finished speaking than a cup of coffee was shoved into his arms.
Completely bewildered, he caught it, only to find that Rukawa had already taken Kanon away.
He left cleanly and decisively.
Mitsui chuckled as he held his coffee, "Well, this kid's become so considerate since he started dating. He even knows how to respect his seniors now!"
The two walked to the training hall, and Rukawa Kaede suddenly stopped.
Hanon asked in confusion, "What's wrong? Did you forget something?"
"no."
Rukawa Kaede lowered his head and suddenly placed her hand under his nose, sniffing it.
Hanon asked curiously, "What's wrong?"
"It stinks."
Hanon looked up in astonishment: "How could I possibly stink!"
As a sophisticated girl, Kanon firmly disagrees with this statement.
Hana sniffed it, and, not giving up, said, "What stench? It smells wonderful!"
Remembering something, "Maybe it was that cup of coffee from earlier, and it left some of Yumi's perfume on my hands? That's why they have a bit of that scent on them."
Rukawa Kaede said definitively, "It stinks."
At this moment, Hanon seriously suspected that Rukawa Kaede's sense of smell was faulty.
After walking a while further into the training hall, Rukawa suddenly took someone's hand and led them to the sink.
Rukawa Kaede turned on the tap, tested the water temperature with his hand, and then pulled Hanon's hand under the tap to wash her hands.
The water was a little cool.
The two stood close together in front of the same tap. Huayin glanced at his profile.
Rukawa Kaede lowered his head, his eyelashes drooping, and Kanon could clearly see his slightly upturned eyelashes; they were really beautiful.
As the other person's fingertips brushed across her palm, a tingling, electric-like sensation instantly spread throughout her body, causing her to tremble involuntarily.
The faucet was turned on.
Rukawa Kaede took out a handkerchief, dried his face, and smelled it again before saying with satisfaction, "It doesn't smell anymore."
Hana thought to herself, "Of course it doesn't smell. With all that rubbing and washing, not even letting go of the tiny gaps between your fingers, there's no way any smell could be left."
Several seconds passed before Hanon realized what was happening: "...Are you jealous?"
"..."
"Um."
Straightforward and frank.
"Yumi doesn't like me at all, we're just friends! And I don't like girls either."
Rukawa Kaede turned the back of his head toward her, his voice muffled, "...Mmm."
Hanon understood, and put it another way: "I only like you."
The little fox was satisfied: "...Hmm!"
To the east of Sakuragi's residence is a bustling street. There are large supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, and more.
Hua Yin followed him, a smile curving her lips: "Do you know any other good coffee shops?"
Rukawa Kaede nodded, replying with his usual monosyllabic "Mm".
Things I hadn't noticed before, I now pay attention to and record after getting a girlfriend.
The two were as innocent as middle school students, holding hands and strolling down the bustling street.
Clerk: "Hello, what would you like to drink today?"
With a blank expression, Rukawa Kaede said, "Please give me a cup of coffee, thank you."
Rukawa, who only drinks sports drinks and water, didn't know that coffee was a general term. When the clerk asked him what kind of coffee he wanted, Rukawa was stunned and subconsciously looked at Kanon.
Hanon couldn't help but crinkle her eyes and say, "American style."
Rukawa Kaede: "American style."
"Would you like it hot or cold?"
Kanon: "It's hot."
Rukawa Kaede: "It's hot."
"Would you like to eat in the store or take away?"
Huayin: "Take it away."
Rukawa Kaede: "Take him away."
Kanon says something, and Rukawa replies.
Their voices were both low, and they spoke back and forth as if whispering sweet nothings.
I felt a tingling sensation as such conversation flowed into my ears.
After the cashier finished processing the order, she looked at the two of them and couldn't help but chuckle.
Wow! It looks so pampered.
That face and figure! They instantly turned her into a fangirl!
Under the gossipy gaze of the shop assistants, Rukawa Kaede inserted a straw, handed the coffee to Hanon, and calmly led Hanon forward.
Hanon sipped her drink slowly through a straw.
Rukawa Kaede: "How does it taste?"
Kanon handed it to Rukawa, "Want to try it?"
Rukawa glanced at her, casually put one hand in his pocket, and instead of taking it, he naturally lowered his head, took a sip from the straw in Hanon's hand.
The Adam's apple moves up and down with the swallowing motion.
Hana-on paused for a second.
The adorable fox asked in confusion, "Bitter?"
Hanon laughed: "Yeah, it'll help you stay alert."
"I'll organize the team's information and data."
Hanon shook her head and swallowed her coffee. "No need. You don't even have enough time to practice or sleep."
Rukawa Kaede stopped and looked at her seriously: "I can."
He didn't want her to work so hard.
Hanon laughed freely: "Rukawa, I want to become a champion coach who can strategize and win. So doing these things is all about accumulating experience for me."
You have to write your own reports and analyze your own data to draw valuable conclusions.
"Then let me be the sword in your hand. Let us stay together, fighting for the same goal."
Rukawa Kaede understood that this was a path she could only walk alone to go far. He would accompany her in the future; all he could do was become her most powerful weapon.
Her excellence made him eager to improve himself.
Rukawa Kaede stated his inner thoughts in a cold voice, yet his words struck Kanon's mind with tremendous force.
Hana's eyelashes trembled slightly as she was immersed in those words, unable to calm down for a long time.
He didn't think his ideas were impractical.
Instead, he calmly said that he wanted to work with her to achieve that goal.
Hanon said half-jokingly, "I'm just a rookie, I have no coaching experience. What if you lose? So, maybe I should gain some experience first, and then we can win together."
Rukawa Kaede looked steadily at her. "You're great. I'll try my best to make sure you don't lose. It's more important to have you with me than to win alone."
Hana was startled, and her heart skipped a beat.
In that simple and straightforward sentence, what she heard was that, more important to Rukawa Kaede than victory.
Heart-stirring, awe-inspiring.
…He's really good at it!
She feels like she likes him more... What should she do?
Hana couldn't help but pinch the soft flesh on his face. "Okay, I'll try my best!"
Hanon was in a good mood and kept talking to Rukawa Kaede the whole way.
Rukawa Kaede's face remained expressionless as he listened intently to her.
Upon seeing a large group of girls in Shohoku school uniforms ahead, Kanon immediately pulled her hand away from hers.
Rukawa Kaede's hand was suddenly empty. He frowned slightly, looking confused and helpless.
Hanon distanced herself from him, gesturing with her chin in that direction: "Your fan club."
What's wrong with the fan club?
"We can't let them find out we're dating."
Rukawa Kaede stopped, looked down at her, and asked, "Why care about people who are unrelated to you?"
Her voice was like an icy spring, coldly striking my eardrums.
