Chapter 89 tells you to cast the rod, not to smash it.

In less than half an hour, Ye Cheng caught four or five more sea bream.

In the distance, two chattering voices came from behind; it was Xiao Hu and Uncle Jinshui returning together.

"Little Tiger, I'll show you your Uncle Jinshui's skills in a bit. This fishing rod of mine has been through countless battles and has caught a lot of fish with me. It's an absolute treasure."

"Uncle, you're just bragging. I've only heard that you went to junior high school, studied physics, and know a bit about history. When did you become a fishing expert?"

"What do you know? Learning knowledge and fishing are not mutually exclusive. In a while, we'll let Ye Cheng see what casting a rod really means."

Ye Cheng turned his headlamp around, shining the bright light directly into their faces, and said loudly, "Uncle, let me see what a real 'swing' looks like."

Chen Jinshui waved his hand smugly, acting like a celebrity.

"Hey, wait a minute, let me get the line set up." Chen Jinshui bent down and took out the fishing rod to start installing it.

Meanwhile, Xiao Hu filled the water tank and brought it up. After glancing at it, he exclaimed, "Brother, more fish? And so many?"

Hearing that fish had been served again, Uncle Jinshui leaned over to take a look, his lips twitching violently.

"Ouch!" A scream rang out as the fishhook pierced right into the flesh.

"Uncle, what are you doing, a blood sacrifice?" Ye Cheng teased.

Chen Jinshui rolled his eyes at Ye Cheng, put his finger in his mouth and sucked on it for a moment, then mumbled something.

"Let me tell you, Cheng, this is all luck. It won't last. You have to build a solid foundation and practice your skills to ensure you can always have a good meal, understand?"

Xiao Hu, who was squatting down cleaning the fish, turned his head and stuck out his butt to look at Uncle Jinshui. "Uncle, you're so good at it, how come I haven't seen you catch any big fish? You're still picking up snails here."

Uncle Jinshui's face darkened, and he turned around to glare at Xiaohu. "This child, you need to be patient and persevere in doing things. Success is never that easy."

"Okay, Uncle, hurry up and show us something." Ye Cheng held his fishing rod but didn't cast it yet, waiting to see Uncle Jinshui perform.

Uncle Jinshui tidied himself up and finally stood up. Then, he took a baseball cap from somewhere, put it on backwards on his head, and looked quite respectable.

"Come on, let me show you how to cast a rod. I can hit the target exactly where I point it. Do you see that little rock over there? I'll cast my line there."

Ye Cheng looked around and realized that the place Jinshui Uncle mentioned, Xiaoshiji Bureau, was seven or eight meters away. He couldn't possibly outrun it.

Uncle Jinshui adjusted the length of the fishing line, leaving only about one and a half meters of the front end exposed, and then raised the fishing rod above his head with the rod tip pointing backward.

Ye Cheng's eyes lit up at this pose. Damn, that looks so cool! Regardless of whether it can catch fish or not, I have to learn this.

Being cool is the only real thing.

After striking a pose, Uncle Jinshui's lips curled up slightly, revealing what he considered a charming smile, complementing his backwards baseball cap. Then, he easily flicked his fishing rod forward.

Ye Cheng saw the float fly into the air, travel a very long distance, and land on the small rocky shore.

"Awesome! Amazing!" Ye Cheng couldn't help but applaud. It was indeed cool and accurate.

Uncle Jinshui raised his eyebrows proudly, "I've practiced this for many years. I've baited it with grouper bait. You'll see in a moment, it'll definitely get a bite."

With the teacher's demonstration, Ye Cheng followed suit and started swinging the club.

With a "smack," the fishing rod struck the rocks, startling Uncle Jinshui.

Ye Cheng was also startled. Damn it, the line was cast out, but the strike was too forceful, and the fishing rod was almost broken.

"Ah Cheng, when I tell you to cast the rod, you don't mean to smash it. You need to use your core strength and the rod's own elasticity," Uncle Jinshui reminded him.

Ye Cheng roughly understood. He reeled in the fishing line, adjusted its length, and cast it out again with all his might.

Whoosh!

squeak!

A whoosh is the sound of the cable coming out, and a squeak is the sound of the cable getting stuck because someone forgot to let out the cable.

Uncle Jinshui and Xiaohu shook their heads in unison and sighed, "Sigh!"

Even Ye Cheng, with his thick skin, couldn't quite bear that disappointed look.

He casually waved his hand to cover up his embarrassment, "Oh well, it doesn't matter how you cast, as long as you catch a fish, that's good enough."

"well--"

"well----"

Two long sighs!

Before he could even utter a word of lament, Ye Cheng's float moved again. This time, Uncle Jinshui was a little unsettled. Damn it, why hadn't his float moved yet?

When Ye Cheng pulled it up, he saw that it was another spotted tarantula.

"Uncle, the grouper bait you hung up is being eaten by me again," Ye Cheng joked.

Uncle Jinshui muttered something under his breath, then suddenly reeled in the fishing line and cast it out again, this time landing at the same spot where Ye Cheng had been fishing.

He refused to believe that the fish wouldn't like the bait he had made with his culinary skills of over ten years.

Ye Cheng didn't care that Uncle Jinshui had taken over the fishing spot, since he wasn't relying on the spot itself, but on his special bait.

I changed the bait 20 times when I came out. I caught a lot of fish, but it was also a waste of bait. I had to refill the bait every two times at most.

Ye Cheng changed locations, gestured for a while, and cast the fishing line. This time it was a little better than last time, casting it 5 meters away and landing next to a reef.

The float bobbed up and down in the seawater. Ye Cheng slowly swung the fishing line, pulling and tugging, lifting and releasing, to bring the bait to life.

Soon, Ye Cheng caught another fish. A flat, round fish took the bait and rolled over in the water, its belly so flat that it was obviously a pomfret without even pulling it up.

The pomfret was small and weak, so there was no need to hook it. Ye Cheng gently tugged at it and slowly reeled in the line, catching a white pomfret weighing a little over a pound. Its silver body shimmered and looked very beautiful.

Ye Cheng used to love eating pomfret, mainly because it has fewer bones, and because it's flat, the bones won't get stuck in the flesh, which is more friendly to someone like Ye Cheng who's not good at cooking.

Uncle Jinshui was both envious and nervous. He looked anxiously at his float and said, "Why don't you move it?"

Ye Cheng looked at the bait in his hand; there were still 8 baits left, enough to catch at least 8 more fish. Hopefully, he could catch something big.

This time, Ye Cheng still only swung the ball a little over five meters, but his posture was much smoother than before, and he had just tried to control the landing point.

Well, it's basically nothing.

"Brother, I've loaded the goods."

An excited voice came from Xiaohu's side, and the game had started.

While he was excited, he carefully took the fish back little by little. It was a yellowtail catfish, only about seven or eight ounces in size.

Yellowtail is also a type of sea bream, and it's delicious steamed. Little Tiger's is a bit small; it's not enough for Ye Cheng by himself.

Ye Cheng always had fish, and Xiao Hu had also started making a sale. Uncle Jinshui was getting impatient and started taking fishing lines for a stroll.
