Chapter 111 Someone Came to the Bay Last Time

The two didn't go anywhere far. Of course, the area at the village entrance was no longer worth exploring; it had already been dug up.

It was late at night, so they decided to find a familiar place. The two of them rode a motorcycle towards the bay they had visited last time, having only explored half of the area.

The roar of the motorcycle was hidden among the chirping of insects and birds in the surrounding area, and it was not so conspicuous in the evening.

However, just as Ye Cheng and his companions rode out of the village, a bicycle emerged from the darkness and relentlessly followed them.

Having been here once before, Ye Cheng knew the way well and arrived in just over ten minutes.

The two parked their motorcycle by the roadside, walked through the grove of trees, and arrived at the beach, where it was still as quiet and peaceful as ever.

"Brother, this place should be used to shoot those romance movies. Sitting here at night watching the sea, it would definitely look amazing."

Ye Cheng looked at Xiao Hu with surprise, "Damn, you've become romantic all of a sudden? Have you seen a girl you like recently?"

Xiao Hu hesitated for a moment, his expression clearly showing that he was smitten.

Ye Cheng tossed him a cigarette. "Well, whether you like it or not, finish your cigarette and get back to work. Let me tell you something."

No, it's the truth: money buys love, and without money, forget about love, you won't even have an affair.

Xiao Hu's innocent budding love was completely extinguished by Ye Cheng's single sentence about illicit affairs.

The two of them took shovels and walked towards the sea. The moon rose, and under the moonlight, the light-colored seawater reflected streaks of silver light.

A figure twitched in the silver light; there was something there.

Ye Cheng, with a cigarette dangling from his lips and a net in hand, walked over. The wriggling motion clearly indicated that it was a shrimp or a small fish, making a net the perfect solution.

When I went over to take a look, I saw a dark red thing swimming around, its body bouncing back and forth.

Ye Cheng casually handed it a net and scooped it up. It had a dark red shell and a head bigger than a mantis shrimp.

"Brother, mantis shrimp."

This is the slipper shrimp, also known as the nine-toothed fan shrimp. It is not the traditional round shrimp, but rather flat like the mantis shrimp. It is named slipper shrimp because its tail resembles the pipa, a musical instrument.

However, Ye Cheng felt that its head was the most distinctive feature, resembling the magical blue-blooded horse mackerel, with a wide, flat lid.

Slipper prawns are relatively small, unlike mantis shrimp which can grow very large; they are generally only about the size of a palm.

In terms of taste, both are delicious, but mantis shrimp is slightly more expensive.

There are plenty of mantis shrimp on this beach; even if you don't know their colors, they are very conspicuous and easy to spot.

Ye Cheng and Xiao Hu walked side by side, scooping their way through.

This thing doesn't require much skill; you can catch several at a time with one net. In half an hour, they caught dozens, filling both of their buckets. Xiao Hu took out a snakeskin bag and put the fish in it, emptying the buckets.

After taking a few steps forward, something on the bottom of the water shrank slightly in the moonlight. It was quite large, but I didn't know what it was.

Ye Cheng cautiously walked over and touched it with his shovel. It immediately contracted even more violently, and the yellow snail meat shrunk into the sand, leaving a large, yellowish-brown shell half-buried in the sand.

Ye Cheng grabbed it with his bare hands, but it was quite a struggle. He had to squat down, grab it with both hands, and pull hard before he finally got the large snail out. It was a coconut snail.

Coconut snails are known for their large size, with the largest weighing over ten pounds. Ye Cheng's snail weighs seven or eight pounds, and it feels heavy and substantial in his hand.

However, the meat of the coconut snail is a bit tough and has a poor texture, so it is much cheaper than the conch, costing only about ten yuan per kilogram.

But they're big, so one can sell for seventy or eighty yuan.

"Brother, what is that?" Xiao Hu asked, standing a few meters away.

Ye Cheng chuckled, used both hands to throw the coconut shell over, and shouted, "Catch!"

"Damn! What is that?" Xiao Hu exclaimed, stumbling a few steps before finally managing to catch the coconut snail. He probably hadn't expected it to be so heavy, and his hand suddenly sank to steady itself.

"A coconut snail! This head is pretty good!" Little Tiger immediately became happy when he saw what the snail looked like in his hand.

"Just put it in the snakeskin bag. This thing won't even fit in the bucket," Ye Cheng said.

"Okay." Xiao Hu opened the second snakeskin bag and threw the contents inside.

Just after finishing with the first coconut snail, Ye Cheng saw the second one, which was also lying half-lying in the sand.

It's hard not to see this thing. You might not notice it at first, but once you see the first one, you'll subconsciously start to look closely.

Then, something this big is easy to spot at a glance.

Ye Cheng strode over, but before he could even make a move, something jumped where he was standing.

He looked down and saw another mantis shrimp; it looked like he was going to have a big catch tonight.

"Little Tiger, there are mantis shrimp over here too!" Ye Cheng shouted.

"Here it is, brother. I have a coconut snail here too. Let me get it out for him." Xiao Hu replied.

Ye Cheng temporarily ignored the mantis shrimp and first picked up the coconut snails, which weighed about seven or eight pounds.

Soon, Xiao Hu came over carrying a large gold ingot-like object, which was also a coconut snail, even bigger than the one Ye Cheng was carrying. It probably weighed about ten pounds, and he held it like a golden baby.

After placing the coconut snails, Xiao Hu was about to use a net to scoop up the mantis shrimp when Ye Cheng suddenly grabbed him, made a shushing gesture, and then pointed behind him.

"Brother, what's wrong? Is there a wild boar?" Xiao Hu asked softly.

Saying it's a wild boar is a joke; what era are we living in? A wild rabbit or something is more likely.

"No, it seems someone's coming. Let's hide for a bit," Ye Cheng said softly.

After saying that, he pulled Xiaohu to squat down behind a rock and looked at it from the side.

A soft rustling sound came from the woods behind them, and a figure emerged from the bushes, carrying a net, a shovel, and other beachcombing tools.

Because the person was turned to the side, Ye Cheng couldn't see clearly who it was, but he could be fairly certain that they were there to go beachcombing.

"Brother, this place is so remote, and we still managed to run into people while beachcombing. Our luck is incredible," Xiao Hu exclaimed, and then stood up.

Ye Cheng grabbed him with a serious expression and said in a low voice, "There's no such thing as a coincidence in the world. Be careful and see what they're here for."

Besides the beautiful scenery, based on Ye Cheng's many years of experience in Hong Kong films, this place is also a common location for drug transactions in movies. Who knows, a ship might just come from the sea and a transaction could take place on the spot.

Damn it, I can't be that unlucky, can I?
