Chapter 49 Forced Broadcast

The door to the village chief's house was pounded on again, and the dog inside kept barking.

"Who is it? Who is it? Are you trying to get yourself killed? Have you no manners at all?" Chen Jinhai stormed out angrily. Had he lost his authority lately? Ye Cheng had rebelled, and now someone was banging on the door. Damn it, he had to teach them a lesson.

As soon as the door opened, Chen Jinhai's expression changed drastically, and he subconsciously took a step back. Standing outside the door were Ye Cheng and Xiao Hu, who looked anxious. It was those two idiots again, those unruly idiots.

Last time, the fact that they dared to point a shovel at him really scared Chen Jinhai.

"Second brother, what are you doing? We've already smashed the door!" Chen Jinhai shouted, trying to bolster his courage.

"Uncle, I received word that there will be big waves at sea at 4 o'clock. Please quickly inform the villagers and tell anyone who has gone out to sea to come back as soon as possible. It's getting late, it's already 2:40." Ye Cheng quickly explained his purpose.

"There are storms at sea? How do you know? Are you a fortune teller?" Chen Jinhai rolled his eyes at him.

Nobody can predict what will happen in God's world, so what are you, a little kid, yelling about?

"Uncle, believe me, I know someone in the city, at the meteorological bureau, that's what they told me." Ye Cheng pulled out the same line again.

"Stop talking nonsense. You, someone who knows people in the city? Second brother, it's not that I don't trust you, but with your abilities, who would take care of you like this?"

Besides, look at the sky. In all my years of experience, it's a perfectly fine day. All this talk of strong winds and waves is ridiculous.

Ye Cheng being a bit like Chen Jinhai is acceptable, but as for Ye Cheng knowing people, he would never believe it even if you beat him to death.

You're from the city, you're from the meteorological bureau? Why don't you just fly to the sky?

Ye Cheng didn't have time to argue with him about looking down on him; he just wanted to get everyone informed as soon as possible.

But no matter what he said, Chen Jinhai always had a "don't cause trouble" attitude.

“Let me tell you, second brother, everyone has costs when they go out to sea. If you call people back now, they will complain because they lost money. Our village committee will not do anything that harms the collective interest.”

Ye Cheng checked the time; it was 2:45. If he didn't notify them soon, some people might not make it back in time.

"Uncle, I'm sorry to offend you." Ye Cheng clasped his hands in a fist salute.

Chen Jinhai's expression changed drastically, and he hurriedly shouted, "What do you want to do? Hitting me won't help."

Ye Cheng was speechless. "Uncle, why would I hit you? I just wanted to use the village's loudspeaker."

Chen Jinhai's eyes widened as he pointed at Ye Cheng and said, "Are you crazy? The village's broadcast system is only used for important events. How can you just use the broadcast system to broadcast news you heard from somewhere?"

Ignoring what he was saying, Ye Cheng pushed Chen Jinhai aside and went straight up to the second floor of his house.

There is a broadcasting station in the village, which is actually just a big loudspeaker. The equipment is on the second floor of the village chief's house.

When Chen Jinhai saw that Ye Cheng was really going to go up, he wasn't in a hurry anymore. Anyway, when the time came, it would be Ye Cheng who did it.

After Ye Cheng went up, he turned on the microphone.

Hello, hello.

Ye Cheng tested the sound, and his voice came through the loudspeaker installed at the village entrance, which could be heard throughout the entire village.

The villagers who were still at home came out one by one out of curiosity. The loudspeaker was blaring, probably because something was going on, like a village meeting or something.

Hello everyone, I'm Ye Cheng.

[Important news, important news, important news!]

I'll say it three times because it's important.

[At 4 PM, which is one hour from now, there will be large waves at sea. Please inform all those who have gone out to sea to return immediately.]

Ye Cheng repeated himself several times to make sure everyone could hear, and then, after thinking for a moment, added:

This is a decision made by the village committee. Please inform everyone immediately, otherwise the village committee will not be responsible if anything happens.

Chen Jinhai hadn't cared much about the earlier parts, but upon hearing this, he jumped up in anger and started cursing at Ye Cheng from downstairs.

"Ye Cheng, who said it was the village committee's decision? Don't talk nonsense. I didn't agree with you saying that."

Ye Cheng checked the time; it was 2:50. He glanced coldly at Chen Jinhai and said with a serious expression,

“Uncle, you can go up and tell them it wasn’t your decision, but you’ll have to take responsibility if anything goes wrong. I’m going to go find my older brother now. Do as you please.”

After saying that, Ye Cheng pulled Xiao Hu away, leaving Chen Jinhai in shock.

Chen Jinhai was completely dumbfounded, standing frozen in place. He could go up and say the announcement was canceled, but what if...?

After weighing the options, Chen Jinhai decided to remain inactive. If it was true, then it was the village committee's decision; if it was a false report, then it was Ye Cheng's problem.

Okay, let's do it this way, that's what you call wisdom.

Ye Cheng grabbed Xiao Hu and headed straight for the village entrance.

On the way, several villagers saw them, all looking puzzled, wondering whether the broadcast they had just heard was true or false.

Riding to the village entrance, I finally saw the villagers gathered together, chattering away.

"Hey, Ye Cheng is here. He said there are big waves. Let's ask him quickly to see if it's true or not."

"Yes, yes, it must be made clear."

A group of people surrounded Ye Cheng in a flurry of noise. Before he could even speak, Ye Cheng announced loudly,

"Folks, I have someone at the city's meteorological bureau. He told me this. You don't have to believe me, but I'm going to call my brother back. I've also called Xiao Hu's second uncle back. Do as you please."

After saying that, Ye Cheng threw the handlebars aside, leaving a group of dumbfounded villagers behind, and walked straight away.

"No, what does Ye Cheng mean by this? Is it true or false?"

He said he knew people, but I don't believe him.

"But he's made a lot of money from beachcombing lately, maybe there really is a connection?"

"What connections could he possibly have? Who would bother with him?"

"But the second son has indeed changed a lot recently, who knows?" These words were spoken by Widow Zhang. None of her family members were going out to sea; she was just there for the fun of it.

"There have been big changes. They even dare to talk back to the village chief now."

"You have to be sure it's true, not just believe it. What if it is? No, I have to call my family back."

After the first person called, the other villagers began to waver and went home to make phone calls.

......

Ye Cheng and Xiao Hu rushed to the dock, arriving at 3:15 PM.

Ye Guowei was still unloading cargo on the ship. Ye Cheng hurriedly pulled him over, "Brother, didn't I tell you that there were big waves coming and that you shouldn't unload the cargo?"

Ye Guowei looked a little embarrassed and scratched his head. "They all say it's definitely fake, the weather's so nice right now."

"Brother, trust me, leave the dock right now. Your boss can do whatever he wants." Ye Cheng said very seriously.
