Chapter 254 Chinese Splendid Lobster and East China Sea Red Shrimp

There aren't many types of lobsters that can be caught in domestic waters. There are mainly three types: Chinese lobster, wavy lobster, and Chinese spiny lobster. Other types include Japanese lobster and variegated lobster.

In terms of color, Chinese lobsters are dark red or brownish-red with no obvious stripes; wavy lobsters are bluish-green with white wavy stripes; and Chinese spiny lobsters are colorful and can be easily distinguished at a glance.

In terms of size, Chinese lobsters are medium-sized, about 40-50 centimeters in length and weighing 1-2 kilograms; wavy lobsters are the smallest, 25-30 centimeters long and generally weigh less than a pound; while Chinese spiny lobsters are relatively large, ranging from 60 to 1 meter, with the largest weighing over 10 kilograms.

The prices of the three correspond to their size: the wavy lobster is the cheapest, followed by the Chinese lobster, and the Chinese spiny lobster is the most expensive, usually costing over a thousand yuan per kilogram.

However, wild Chinese spiny lobsters are relatively rare; the small green lobsters we usually refer to are actually wavy lobsters.

Ye Cheng stealthily crept over and grabbed the lobster from behind. The creature was startled and flailed around with its legs, but it had no chance of escaping.

Ye Cheng picked it up and examined it. It was a wavy lobster, the same kind of small green lobster that Ye Cheng often caught before, about 20 centimeters long.

Not bad, Ye Cheng put it directly into the net and continued swimming forward.

This area is full of coral reefs and rock formations, where many marine creatures hide, acting as both hunters and prey.

Not long after, Ye Cheng spotted a second lobster hiding under a rock. When it saw the light shining on it, it backed away and shrank into its burrow.

This lobster is brightly colored and larger than the previous wavy lobster. It might be a Chinese spiny lobster. Ye Cheng was overjoyed. He had finally come across a high-priced item.

He cautiously reached out his hand, but the guy had retreated even further, making it impossible for him to reach.

Ye Cheng could only switch to using clips and reach inside to try and pull it out.

However, this thing is a bit too big, and I couldn't hold it for a long time.

Damn it, Ye Cheng looked at the hole with a sense of helplessness. It seemed like there was no way to get it out unless he lured it out.

Left with no other option, Ye Cheng swam around the reef, hoping to find another way out.

As soon as we moved behind the rocks, we saw a brightly colored shrimp butt.

Damn, I was wondering why this hole was so deep; it turns out they've actually dug it through.

The lobster was probably still gloating over not being caught when it felt a tightness behind it, its waist was grabbed and it was pulled backward, and then its whole body was dragged out.

You can only truly feel how big this thing is when you hold it in your hand. It's 50 centimeters long, and it's a bit difficult to hold it with one hand.

This shrimp has all sorts of colors on its body; it's definitely a Chinese spiny shrimp. Judging by its size, it must weigh several pounds. I'm going to make a fortune tonight.

After putting the large cargo into the net, Ye Cheng swam directly up, feeling uneasy in the water.

Xiao Hu was lying on the boat, bored, when Ye Cheng suddenly emerged from the seabed, startling him.

"Brother, you got up here so quickly? That's not like you."

"That's right, my style is to last, but this stuff is a bit expensive, so I'll put it up first." Ye Cheng lifted the net bag up and let Xiao Hu pull it up.

Xiao Hu pulled them up easily, glanced at them, and said, "So few, only two?"

"Take a closer look, this is a Chinese spiny lobster, a top-quality product. Have you ever seen one before?"

Little Tiger took a closer look by the moonlight, and it really was! The big lobster was so brightly colored; he had never seen anything like it before.

"Brother, I heard these shrimp can sell for several hundred yuan a pound, right?" Xiao Hu opened the water tank in the cabin and carefully put two lobsters inside.

"I don't know if it's a few hundred. Give me the net, and I'll go down and take another look. It seems like we've stirred up a lobster nest today."

Ye Cheng tied up the net and dove back down, swimming back to where he had caught the giant lobster.

There are many rocks on this reef. I had just swum for a bit when I saw something move on the seabed, stirring up a cloud of mud and sand. It seems like there's some big cargo here again.

Ye Cheng shone his lamp along the direction of the mud and sand, and sure enough, he found a lobster, a spiny lobster, which was even bigger, measuring 70 centimeters long.

It huddled nervously, not understanding why light was still shining on it when it had clearly been ejected.

This one was very alert. When Ye Cheng swam forward a little, it pushed backward, doing something like dancing the tango.

Helpless, Ye Cheng had no choice but to use a net instead. He slowly approached it from behind. The creature seemed to sense something, and with a leap, it went straight into the net, where Ye Cheng scooped it up.

Even so, half of his body was still exposed, which was quite large.

Ye Cheng originally intended to send it up, but the water here got muddy and something was immediately disturbed. He caught a glimpse of something moving quickly and hiding in the mud and sand.

Although his body went inside, his beard and two small eyes were sticking out.

Ye Cheng pressed him down from behind and pinned him to the ground.

Upon picking it up, I saw it was another spiny lobster, but smaller, about the same size as the first one.

Two lobsters were now available. Ye Cheng went back again, and Xiao Hu was quite excited. "Brother, there really is a lobster nest!"

"It should be. I'll go down and check again," Ye Cheng said excitedly.

As he spoke, Ye Cheng dived down again. This time, his luck was still good. In just over half an hour, he caught another spiny lobster and two wavy lobsters. However, he didn't see any spiny lobsters, which made Ye Cheng a little disappointed.

Ye Cheng searched the entire rocky area but couldn't find any lobsters. They were either gone or hiding.

This was a pretty good catch, and Ye Cheng swam straight up.

We managed to get a total of 7 lobsters this time: 3 wavy lobsters and 4 spiny lobsters. The quantity isn't large, but the quality is absolutely top-notch.

With the diving arrangements mostly complete, Ye Cheng had Xiao Hu steer the boat towards the spot where the fish traps were set yesterday; it was time to collect them.

When setting the fish trap yesterday, we deliberately left a buoy. We just need to drive the boat to the buoy and pull it in. Ye Cheng doesn't need to dive down anymore.

Under the cover of night, it was only because the two of them were familiar with this area of water that they were able to find the buoy; otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to guarantee finding it. It took them a while to find it.

All six floats were still there. The two of them drove to the first float and pulled it. It had weight on it, and the item was still there.

The two stood still and began to pull upwards. It got heavier and heavier, indicating that there was quite a lot of stuff.

Halfway through, we finally saw something: shrimp, lots of shrimp, lively and jumping shrimp.

The water had already come out, and the two of them sped up to bring the fish trap up. It was about half full, which was quite good.
