Chapter 460 Han Xiaotao Gets Beaten

Ye Cheng looked at the two of them calmly.

“You two went through this phase too, but you’re all better now.”

The two of them were stunned for a moment, looking embarrassed.

Come to think of it, that's how everyone got through it back then.

The only difference is that my stupidity is due to ignorance and youth, while other people's stupidity is genuine stupidity.

"Alright, let's get him familiar with things first and temper his temperament."

After giving the two some instructions, Ye Cheng left, saying that some things had to be experienced by themselves, and that He Feiyang should go and figure it out on his own.

As dinnertime approached, Han Xiaotao came over to pick up her longline fishing rig, as usual.

"Brother Cheng, I've come to get something." Han Xiaotao greeted Ye Cheng with her head down.

"Yes, it's over there. The lines are a bit messy today, so it'll take you a little longer to sort them out."

"Mmm," Han Xiaotao responded softly, without ever looking up.

Ye Cheng sensed something was wrong, so he stood up and went over.

Han Xiaotao took two steps back in alarm, as if Ye Cheng were some kind of demon.

"What's wrong with you?" Ye Cheng asked in a deep voice.

"No...it's okay, I'll take it." Han Xiaotao said, and started moving the things.

It's nothing? No way!

Ye Cheng grabbed Han Xiaotao's arm and said in an unquestionable tone,

“Lift your head up so I can see you.”

"I'm really fine, Brother Cheng." Han Xiaotao still stubbornly kept her head down.

Ye Cheng was too lazy to waste any more words. He simply reached out and lifted her chin. There were several red marks on Han Xiaotao's peach-blossom face, as if she had been hit. Her eyes were also swollen and red.

"You were beaten up? Who did it?" Ye Cheng asked in a low voice, a surge of anger rising within him.

Although Han Xiaotao wasn't exactly his woman, she was still under his protection. Who was so blind?

Han Xiaotao closed her eyes, and two lines of tears streamed down her face, filled with grievance.

“They, they say I’m not a virtuous woman, that I, a widow, am having an affair with you.”

Hearing Han Xiaotao's choked words, Ye Cheng basically understood that it was the Chen family who did it.

He released Han Xiaotao and glanced at her.

"You're just looking for a job here, there's nothing going on between you. If someone comes knocking on your door, won't you yell back at them?"

"I...I don't dare, there are too many of them," Han Xiaotao said timidly.

"Your husband has been dead for so long, what are you still doing upholding traditional wifely virtues for? This isn't the old society anymore," Ye Cheng said disdainfully.

"But they said that since I am still a member of the Chen family, I have to follow the Chen family's rules."

"Bullshit! The Chen family's rules are worthless!" Ye Cheng retorted angrily.

"Come on, I'll go with you and see who the hell is still so stubborn."

I was already annoyed that someone stole my fish today, and now the Chen family is asking for trouble, so this is a good opportunity to vent my frustration.

Han Xiaotao panicked when she saw Ye Cheng like this and quickly grabbed him.

"No, Brother Cheng, if you go over like this, people will talk even more."

Ye Cheng sneered disdainfully.

"What nonsense! It's their business to tell me what I want to do. Some things you have to be tough on. If you're so afraid to back down, people will just think we have something to hide."

If something doesn't exist, say it out loud.

"But...but we really have something going on." Han Xiaotao looked at Ye Cheng with a shy and helpless expression.

Ye Cheng paused, his face flushing red. Damn, he'd forgotten.

It's like they're turning their backs on you now that they've already taken their pants.

Although it wasn't much, it was still a bit... well, you know.

"Um, that, ah." Ye Cheng stammered for a while, wondering how he was going to explain himself now.

Finally, when he couldn't think of anything else, he simply flung his hand away.

"That doesn't count. Just come with me and don't say a word."

"That...that doesn't count." Han Xiaotao looked at Ye Cheng with a blank expression.

Ye Cheng tilted his head back and took a deep breath. He couldn't stand seeing such silly and cute people make mistakes.

"Alright, let's go. Who did you call someone? Who hit you? Was it Chen Jinhai and his men?"

"It's not the village chief, it's Uncle Hou."

"Chen Houda? He's practically a dead man, yet he meddles in everything. Let's go."

Ye Chengcai doesn't care about Chen Houda or anyone else; anyone who hits him has to pay the price.

Of course, Ye Cheng stopped by Xiao Hu's place on the way there. Going to the Chen family alone would have been a recipe for disaster, but bringing Xiao Hu along would at least provide some protection.

In Chen Houda's home, Chen Houda sat in the courtyard smoking a cigarette, with a pot of tea in front of him.

Things haven't been going well for my family lately. Although we managed to get a few thousand yuan back from Chen Jinfa, we still lost a lot.

There are reportedly problems with his crayfish farming venture, and it seems his investment is going to be a complete waste.

Everything was going wrong, and then someone came along and said they saw Ye Cheng leaving Han Xiaotao's place at night, which made him even angrier.

You little widow, you dare to cause trouble and get so close to Ye Cheng. If I don't teach you a lesson, do you think the Chen family is all dead?

I felt much better after beating him up.

These young widows deserve a lesson, to let them know that there are adults in charge of the Chen family, and that they shouldn't be thinking about all sorts of nonsense.

Just as they were feeling smug, the door was kicked open with a bang, and three men strode in menacingly.

When Chen Houda saw who it was, his chrysanthemum tightened. Oh no, Ye Cheng was here. He was here to settle scores with him.

He quickly stood up and loudly rebuked them.

"Ye Cheng, what are you trying to do in broad daylight?"

"Fuck you! What are you doing!" Ye Cheng responded rudely.

Then he pulled Han Xiaotao forward, pointed to the injury on Han Xiaotao's face, and said...

"Did you hit this?"

Chen Houda's facial muscles twitched slightly, and he said somewhat guiltily,

"So what if I hit him? Does it require an outsider like you to point fingers at me, an elder of the Chen family, when I'm disciplining a junior?"

Ye Cheng grinned maliciously and pointed at Chen Hou, cursing loudly.

"You old bastard, do you need to tell people what to do about other people's business?"

"You... Ye Cheng, you dare to insult me?"

"So what if I curse you? Let me tell you, I'm going to beat you up today too." Ye Cheng glared angrily, which scared Chen Houda into taking a few steps back.

This isn't the first or second time Ye Cheng has fought with the Chen family; this guy really has the guts to do it.

Ye Cheng ignored him. Last time, he grabbed Chen Houda by the collar, pulled him over, and then said to Han Xiaotao,

“Come on, hit back the way he hit you.”

"What? I hit him?" Han Xiaotao was completely stunned.

She thought Ye Cheng was standing up for her, but she didn't expect that while he was standing up for her, she would have to fight for him herself.

She was timid and cowardly by nature, and had never hit anyone before, let alone an elder of the Chen family.

When Chen Houda heard that Ye Cheng actually wanted Han Xiaotao to hit him, he immediately became agitated and roared at Ye Cheng.

"You dare! Ye Cheng, if you dare let her hit me, I'll kill you, I'll kill you!"

He didn't care if Ye Cheng hit him; at least he was a man.

Now that Ye Cheng has let a woman hit him, where will he put his face in the future?
