Chapter 50 Thundercloud Arrives

Ye Guowei was now in a bit of a predicament. He pointed to the ship at sea and said, "There's not much cargo left. We'll only have about an hour left."

"Not even for a minute. If you don't believe me, just stay here and wait with us. Anyway, you can forget about getting on the ship."

"Then...then I'll tell the boss."

Ye Guowei was not a very decisive person to begin with, and seeing how anxious his younger brother was, he just accepted it.

Ye Guowei went inside for a while and came out with a foreman-like man, Uncle Chen from their loading and unloading team.

Uncle Chen walked up to Ye Cheng with a serious expression and said somewhat displeasedly, "Second brother, was it you who told your brother that a big storm was coming?"

“Yes, that’s what I said, and what I said is right.” Ye Cheng took a step forward, looking at Uncle Chen without fear.

"Captain Chen, my brother knows people," Ye Guowei explained weakly.

Uncle Chen looked at Ye Cheng in front of him. He had heard Ye Guowei say that his younger brother had changed, but he didn't believe it at all.

What changes can happen in a small village?

But the person in front of him made him doubt again. He had a powerful aura, extraordinary demeanor, and a confident face. He looked like a wolf with a hawk's gaze and was not afraid of his captain at all.

After hesitating for a moment, he shook his head. "I promised to unload the goods for them, so I have to follow the rules. If your brother wants to leave, just consider it a leave request."

"Thank you, Uncle Chen, but I still have to say, the big wave will come at 4 o'clock," Ye Cheng said calmly.

To put it bluntly, he has no say in the life or death of other people.

Uncle Chen didn't say much, turned around and left, leaving Ye Guowei looking embarrassed.

"Ah Cheng, there really are big waves at sea." Ye Guowei was still not quite convinced.

"Yeah, let's stay away. If you don't believe me, just watch from here. Little Tiger's second uncle hasn't arrived yet."

Xiao Hu looked anxious, glancing at the time every now and then. It was already 3:25, and he still didn't know if his second uncle had returned yet.

Although he also had some doubts about whether Ye Cheng was really that amazing, and whether what the meteorological bureau people said was true.

But that's how people are; if you're told a timeframe, you'll become anxious.

At 3:35, a boat finally returned to the dock. As soon as Xiao Hu saw it, he ran over to it, wishing his thin legs could fly.

This was his second uncle Wang Haisheng's boat. At least they saw the boat dock and secure itself. Xiao Hu's parents and Wang Haisheng then got off the boat.

"Mom and Dad, Uncle, you're finally back."

Wang Haisheng looked at Xiaohu with dissatisfaction and said, "What are you and Lao Er doing? The weather is so nice. I still have several fish traps to collect. Honestly, I shouldn't have trusted you guys."

"Believe it or not, as long as you've brought my parents back, that's all that matters." Xiao Hu didn't care about Wang Haisheng and pulled his parents towards the dock.

"Hey, you brat, I'm your second uncle," Wang Haisheng shouted at the top of his lungs.

Once inside the dock, Wang Haisheng glanced at Ye Cheng, who was squatting on the ground smoking, snorted, and muttered, "Who's going to compensate me for this loss?"

"Second Uncle, if I'm right, shouldn't you give me the boat as a thank you gift?" Ye Cheng raised his eyebrows, looking at Wang Haisheng provocatively.

"Dream on, go over there and give your uncle a cigarette." Wang Haisheng squeezed through the crowd and managed to snatch a Liqun cigarette from Ye Cheng and lit it.

At 3:45, the villagers began to dock one after another. As soon as they got ashore, they rushed over to ask Ye Cheng if it was true or false.

Ye Cheng said in one sentence: Believe it or not.

As for compensation, well, that's just a question: if it's true, how will you thank me?

With just a couple of words, he silenced them completely.

It was already 3:55, and the sky was still clear, so they started to complain.

"Second brother, look at this beautiful weather for yourself."

"Exactly, I just caught a school of fish and they said it was dangerous. If they let me cast two more nets, I'd probably make 1,000 yuan."

"I shouldn't have listened to him."

A dozen or so people were talking amongst themselves when Ye Cheng suddenly stood up. The others instinctively clenched their fists, thinking a fight was about to break out.

Ye Cheng glanced at his phone, then gave them a cold, sweeping look. "Are there still people in the village who haven't returned?"

Meeting Ye Cheng's sharp gaze, the group immediately deflated, exchanging glances.

"It seems that Lao Duan hasn't come back from home yet."

"Duan Yong's house?" Ye Cheng frowned.

"Yes, Lao Duan took Duan Yong out to sea today."

Duan Yong? Ye Cheng really didn't want to talk to him; he was even more of a fool than himself.

At 3:58, a group of people suddenly emerged from Uncle Chen's side, chatting and laughing, and squatted down to start smoking.

Uncle Chen glanced at Ye Cheng, said nothing, and lit a cigarette along with everyone else.

"Second brother, Captain Chen just wants everyone to take a break," Ye Guowei explained.

"Taking a break at this time, hehe." Ye Cheng saw through it but didn't say anything. In fact, Uncle Chen was also afraid, but he didn't dare to offend the boss, so he could only wait and see in this way.

"Look! There!"

A man shouted, pointing to the distant sky.

Suddenly, a dark cloud appeared in the previously clear sky.

Ye Cheng checked the time: 4 PM.

What was bound to happen has happened.

At first, the dark clouds were relatively small, but they grew larger and larger, and then drifted over in a whole, darkening the originally bright sky.

Everyone stood up, staring in horror into the distance. This was the power of nature. The idea that humans could conquer nature was nonsense. The power of heaven and earth was something that humans could never withstand.

Suddenly, a white light flashed through the dark clouds.

"It's lightning, and it's a thundercloud."

"Such a huge thundercloud, if we were still at sea, it would be..."

"I can't even imagine it."

"The wind is rising, the wind is rising."

A different kind of sea breeze suddenly blew towards the dock, making everyone's clothes rustle and causing them to huddle back against their bodies.

Immediately afterwards, the once calm seawater began to surge, first slowly crashing against the shore and pier, splashing up a spray of water.

Then, the receding waves and the tidal bore merged to form an even larger wave, which crashed onto the large blue stones on the shore with a loud thud, creating a high wave that was instantly soaked by the sea breeze.

Before anyone could react, a second huge wave crashed in. This time, it wasn't just a matter of getting wet; the seawater surged onto the dock as if it didn't care about anything.

"Quick, back up, hide in the back!" Ye Cheng shouted.

Actually, he didn't need to shout. Everyone had seen this situation many times before. They ran faster than him, and by the time Ye Cheng turned around, damn it, they were all gone.

Even Xiao Hu had already run to his position and was waving at him, "Brother, what are you still shouting for? Come over here quickly."
