Chapter 115 Deep-sea Fishing 7

Thinking about the bluefin tuna, Chen Zhiyao quickly turned on her X-ray glasses again and eagerly scanned the surrounding sea.

Unfortunately, what lies beneath the seawater are still just sparse little black clumps, probably all small pomfret.

Without a big fish, she didn't want to move. Her arms were still sore, and it was difficult to lift them.

Chen Zhiyao lay on the rocking chair, eating potato chips she had brought from home while enjoying the magnificent sunset. She was living a very comfortable life.

In the afternoon, the fish that everyone caught were mostly golden pomfret and white pomfret. Chen Hu and his son Chen Daqiang even caught two large buckets of fish.

I caught so many pomfret these past two days that we had a whole fish feast for dinner again.

I ordered one of each of the following cooking methods: steamed, braised, and pan-fried.

Shen Qingmei's cooking skills were indeed excellent, and the fish was fresh and delicious, so everyone ate until their bellies were round and full.

The fishing wasn't good in the afternoon, so after dinner, Chen Daqiang set off with his fish finder to search for the next fishing spot on the vast sea.

However, after driving for an hour, I didn't encounter any decent schools of fish; all I saw were scattered small fish.

Seeing that the fishing boat was running low on gasoline, Chen Daqiang didn't dare to drive too far and stopped after another 20 minutes.

However, the fishing at this new spot was only so-so.

Through the X-ray glasses, Chen Zhiyao saw that the dark shadows under the seawater were very sparse and small, weighing at most four or five pounds.

Normally, four or five pounds would be considered a big fish, but at this point, Chen Zhiyao had become arrogant and looked down on these little guys.

After catching half a bucket of squid with her squid fishing rod, she lay down in the rocking chair and lazily started reading a novel.

I also ordered two free little gifts for my favorite author.

Everyone caught yellowfin tuna this morning, and they were all in high spirits.

Several boat owners gathered together to chat and boast; whether they could catch any fish or not was no longer important.

Only Grandpa Chen, Chen Daqiang, and Chen Hu, the grandfather and grandson, remained at their fishing spots on the deck.

Chen Zhiyao was reading a novel when suddenly, she heard a noise from the fishing rod beside her.

Looking down, I saw that the fishing line was taut and the fishing rod was bent, which meant that a fish had been caught.

Within minutes, she had caught a sea bass weighing over three pounds.

Just then, Chen Hu's excited voice reached my ears.

It turns out this guy caught a giant sea turtle and was busy taking pictures and posting them on his WeChat Moments.

The sea turtle was huge, even bigger than the one Chen Zhiyao had caught before, probably weighing over 30 kilograms.

However, this creature is a protected animal, and after taking photos, Chen Hu could only tearfully send it back into the sea.

Seeing this giant sea turtle, Chen Zhiyao thought of the grateful sea turtle on Seagull Island. She wondered if she would be able to meet it again next time she went there.

The fishing wasn't great at night; Chen Zhiyao only caught two bass all night, and both weighed about three or four pounds.

After a day of fishing, Chen Ziyao felt much more tired than going to the beach. By 9 o'clock, she couldn't take it anymore and dragged her exhausted body back to the house to rest.

Meanwhile, the three members of the Chen family, grandfather, grandfather, and grandson, were still happily competing to see who could catch the most fish, as if they were on steroids.

The next day, Chen Zhiyao woke up to the aroma of breakfast.

The cabin was quiet at this time. The sister-in-law's bed was empty, and Sister Yan was sleeping soundly, even snoring softly.

Without a doubt, it must be my sister-in-law who got up to make breakfast.

After washing up, Chen Zhiyao went to the kitchen and saw her older brother and sister-in-law whispering to each other.

The two of them were laughing hysterically, and the air was filled with pink bubbles.

Chen Zhiyao stood at the door, feeling awkward, wondering whether she should leave.

However, before she could make a move, Chen Feng in front of her had already noticed her and waved to her.

"You're up so early!"

"Good morning, brother and sister-in-law!"

Chen Feng served her a large bowl of seafood porridge, and Shen Qingmei, who was standing next to her, also stuffed two salted duck eggs into her hand.

After taking her breakfast, Chen Zhiyao immediately left the kitchen.

She brought breakfast to the deck. The sun had just come out, and it felt warm on her skin. The sea breeze was blowing gently, which was very comfortable.

Chen Zhiyao opened her phone and saw dozens of messages in the large family group chat.

Last night, Grandpa Chen and his two friends were showing off in the group chat about the tuna and pomfret they had caught during the day.

Chen Weiqiang, who runs the shop at home, was extremely envious.

Later, Chen Hu posted some more photos of sea bass, which looked to weigh about 10 pounds.

His words were full of boasting, which made Chen Weiqiang so angry that he gritted his teeth.

Chen Zhiyao happily finished reading the messages on her phone, and had almost finished her breakfast.

Knowing she was going home today, she quickly took out her fishing rod, ready to catch a bluefin tuna.

Although bluefin tuna are relatively rare, one should still have dreams; what if she happens to encounter one?

She's encountered something as fantastical as a system; what else in this world is impossible?

After drinking a large bowl of chicken soup, Chen Zhiyao deftly picked out the largest squid from the bucket and hung it on the fishing hook.

Through her X-ray glasses, she saw several dark shapes in the water. Although they weren't as big as the tuna from yesterday, they were still quite large.

After casting the fishing line into the water, Chen Zhiyao laughed like the Big Bad Wolf:

"Your breakfast is here, hurry up and take the bait."

Early in the morning, the fish were indeed hungry. Before the hook had fully sunk to the bottom of the sea, it was intercepted by a long, dark shadow.

The fish was fierce; it suddenly exerted its strength, pulling Chen Zhiyao directly against the railing of the fishing boat.

Chen Zhiyao quickly stood up straight and excitedly shouted:

"This force must be from a big guy weighing over 40 kilograms."

Feeling the immense pull from the fishing rod, Chen Zhiyao immediately perked up, rubbing her hands together, ready to reel in this big guy.

Chen Zhiyao excitedly played with the fish for two minutes when suddenly, she felt a strong pull on her hand.

Just as Chen Zhiyao was pulling the fishing rod back, she suddenly heard a soft sound:

"Smack!"

Chen Zhiyao was exerting all her strength when the fishing line suddenly snapped, causing her to fall backward violently.

When Chen Hu and Chen Feng arrived, they saw their cousin about to fall, so they quickly ran over and helped her up.

Just as Chen Zhiyao was about to be moved by the two brothers helping her up, she heard two gloating laughs coming from behind her.

"Oh ho!"

"Oh ho!"

This brother is better off without.

Chen Zhiyao felt her luck was really bad today because she was cut off early in the morning.

Sure enough, she didn't catch a single fish weighing more than 10 pounds that day; all she caught were bass and barracuda weighing three or four pounds.

As for the bluefin tuna she had been longing for, she hadn't even seen a glimpse of it.

However, she wasn't the only one who fared poorly; the others on the ship also had mediocre results, with Grandpa Chen and Chen Hu going home empty-handed.
