Seagull Island Beach
After having an early lunch, the grandfather, grandson, and granddaughter took their fishing gear and went to Seagull Island.
By this time, the tide had fully risen, and most of the beach was submerged.
Several snow-white seagulls were circling in the sky. When they saw the grandfather and grandson coming this way, they quickly flew away towards the distant sea.
The grandfather, his grandson, and his grandchildren each pulled a small cart loaded with various fishing gear.
In Chen Zhiyao's car, there was also half a bucket of small miscellaneous fish.
This was caught by Chen Zhiyao using a hand-thrown net, specifically to feed the sea turtle that had previously given her fish and pearl clams.
The Lunar New Year is just around the corner, so she came over to feed it, hoping this intelligent sea turtle would also have a prosperous New Year.
Grandpa Chen felt that this sea turtle was particularly intelligent and even understood human nature, so he generously sponsored two plump yellow-legged sea turtles for it.
This giant sea turtle is usually elusive, always appearing on its own. Now that she needs to find it, Chen Zhiyao has no idea where to start.
The three of them could only stroll slowly along the beach, waiting for the sea turtle to come out on its own.
Even walking slowly, the three of them crossed the beach 15 minutes later and arrived at the rocky beach where they had previously been beachcombing.
The spot for fishing for grouper is behind the rocky beach.
They were almost at their destination, but hadn't seen the giant sea turtle. The grandfather, grandfather, and grandson were a little disappointed, thinking they wouldn't see it today.
Unexpectedly, this guy was right there at the fishing spot, lazily sunbathing.
As soon as Chen Zhiyao saw it, she immediately ran over to it:
“Here it is, Dad, Grandpa, come quickly, this is the same big sea turtle from before.”
The father and son had lived by the sea for most of their lives and had seen countless sea turtles, but they rarely saw one this big, so they curiously approached.
The sea turtle on the rock was sleeping soundly when it was suddenly awakened by a commotion.
It was initially a little unhappy and was preparing to find another place to sleep.
However, upon seeing that it was a familiar person, he lazily lay back down.
Seeing that it didn't like to move, Chen Zhiyao reached out and touched the sea turtle's shell.
Seeing that it didn't react, I mustered up my courage and gently touched the sleeping turtle's head.
Seeing that the sea turtle seemed to have a very good temperament, I simply started petting it.
Chen Weiqiang, standing to the side, watched with envy. He had only ever petted Ah Huang and Xue Tuan at home, and had never petted a sea turtle before.
Seeing that the sea turtle didn't bite, it eagerly moved closer and then reached out to touch its shell.
Seeing that it didn't react, Chen Weiqiang decided to stroke the turtle's head again.
Before he could even touch it, the sea turtle turned its head and gave him a disdainful look.
Seeing how fierce it was, Chen Weiqiang timidly withdrew his hand.
"Hahaha……"
"Hahaha……"
Then you can hear the grandfather and grandson laughing gleefully.
Enraged, Chen Weiqiang took half a bucket of small fish off the cart.
"It's probably because they're not familiar with each other. Just feed them a few more small fish."
Chen Weiqiang had high hopes, but to his surprise, the sea turtle wouldn't open its mouth even after he held the white pomfret up for a long time.
Meanwhile, all the fish that Chen Zhiyao fed to them were eaten.
Chen Weiqiang felt looked down upon by a sea turtle, so he put the fish on the reef, turned around, picked up his fishing gear, and went fishing.
Hmph, take it or leave it.
This giant sea turtle can be quite infuriating. It refused to eat in front of Chen Weiqiang, but once he left, it started eating with relish, much to the amusement of the grandfather and grandson standing nearby.
Chen Zhiyao wiped away the tears that had come from laughing, and fed it another octopus:
"I wonder how long this sea turtle has lived. It feels like it's almost become a spirit."
Grandpa Chen also thought the sea turtle was very intelligent, "It really understands human nature. Why don't you give it a name, Tangtang?"
Chen Zhiyao thought for a long time before finally coming up with an idea: "This guy feels like he's about to become a spirit, so let's call him Spirit Turtle."
"Spirit Turtle, I'll call you Spirit Turtle from now on." She said, looking expectantly at the drowsy sea turtle in front of her.
The giant sea turtle in front of us still looked lazy and indifferent.
Chen Zhiyao was already used to its behavior and said with a grin:
"If you don't object, I'll take that as a yes. From now on, I'll call you Spirit Turtle."
Then the grandfather and grandson saw the spirit turtle slightly nod its big head in agreement.
The grandfather and grandson were also greatly shocked, not expecting that this guy could actually understand.
Actually, the sea turtle was overfed and wanted Chen Zhiyao to stop feeding it, but due to a misunderstanding, the two of them misunderstood each other.
At this moment, Chen Zhiyao picked up a golden pomfret, but the spirit turtle refused to eat it anymore.
Seeing that he had eaten his fill, Grandpa smiled and suggested:
"Let it keep the rest of the fish in the puddle and let it eat them when it gets hungry."
Chen Zhiyao looked up at the puddle her grandfather had mentioned, which was located at the very top of the rocky beach. Generally speaking, the seawater wouldn't reach that spot.
"This place is nice, and the puddle is big enough. These small fish can stay in here for two or three days without any problem."
With a beaming smile, Chen Zhiyao poured the remaining small fish into the puddle, then waved to the spirit turtle to let it know there was food there.
After feeding the sea turtles, she turned on her X-ray glasses and began searching the surrounding waters.
After wandering around for a while, I didn't see any big fish, but there were quite a few small fish weighing less than three pounds.
These fish are small, and you can't tell what kind of fish they are just by looking at their size.
The three of them originally came here to catch rat-like grouper, but now they had no choice but to try their luck.
Chen Zhiyao took out a small shrimp, smaller than her index finger, from the small bucket of bait.
Grandpa Chen's previous shrimp had already been caught by them. These were the second batch he had raised, and they hadn't even grown up yet when the three of them started fishing with them.
It's a bit small, but it's perfect for catching small fish in the water. You don't even need to cut it into shrimp meat; you can just hook it directly onto the hook.
The live shrimp, which were just jumping around in the water, were being caught by fish in less than a minute.
Feeling only a slight tug on the fishing rod, Chen Zhiyao knew the fish wasn't big, so she simply turned the reel to reel in the line.
Immediately afterwards, she flew a turbot weighing over a pound to the shore.
Chen Zhiyao removed the fishing hook and said with a regretful expression:
"It's turbot. This fish is delicious, but the price is just too cheap."
Then I saw Grandpa Chen and Chen Weiqiang on the side, who had caught cheaper white pomfret. I immediately felt much better and thought turbot was pretty good too.
Just as Chen Zhiyao cast her bait into the water again, the sea turtle on the rock quietly returned to the sea.
