Chapter 52 is filled with fish traps.

Chen Zhiyao played on her phone for a while, and finally the deliveryman arrived with half a truckload of packages.

Most of the village's permanent residents are elderly, and not many people buy things online, so she quickly put these packages into the warehouse.

Not long after, several young women of similar age came to pick up their packages.

Chen Zhiyao noticed that these young women looked somewhat unfamiliar, but after chatting for a while, she learned that they were newly married into Baisha Village in the last two years.

People who came to pick up their packages were also very curious about her. There weren't many young people in the village, and even fewer young and pretty girls like Chen Zhiyao.

These people picked up their packages and then bought a large bag of snacks to take home.

Among them was a pretty young woman named Liang Yue, who had just married into Baisha Village two months prior. She got along well with Chen Zhiyao, and the two even added each other on WeChat.

Seeing that the girl was pretty, Chen Zhiyao, who was obsessed with looks, even gave her a bottle of Coke.

After watching Liang Yue leave, Chen Zhiyao rested her chin on her hands and muttered to herself:

"There are plenty of pretty girls in the village, but where are the handsome guys?"

No sooner had he finished speaking than a tall, handsome, and energetic older man entered.

Oh, it's my own grandfather.

Grandpa Chen and his son went fishing at the rocky beach last night, but after spending most of the night there, they didn't see a single fish, only annoying mosquitoes.

The old man, still not convinced, went fishing again early this morning, and he's all smiles now; it seems he had a good catch.

Sure enough, the old man immediately handed over the bucket he was carrying like a treasure, inside which was a grouper weighing several pounds.

"I was lucky today, I caught a tiger grouper that weighs over 5 pounds." The old man's face was full of pride and joy, he was genuinely happy.

"Grandpa, you're amazing! My dad didn't catch a single fish last night."

"It's alright, the fish isn't very big. Tomorrow I'll take you fishing over the breakwater, the fish there are much bigger."

"Great, there are quite a lot of fish over there on the breakwater."

The grandfather and grandson exchanged a few compliments, and then the old man picked up the heavy water bucket and walked proudly into the village.

Judging from my grandfather's appearance, he probably won't go home until he's walked around the village twice.

Chen Zhiyao smiled and casually opened WeChat.

Sure enough, there were photos of the old man with the grouper in both the family group and the fishing group, and Chen Weiqiang in the group was already green with envy.

We were on the same boat last night, but I never expected that old geezer would secretly catch fish today.

Chen Weiqiang was sitting in the fishing tackle shop, almost turning into a pufferfish with anger, and the more he thought about it, the angrier he became.

A short while later, he got up again, gritting his teeth, and picked out a newly arrived fishing rod in the store, thinking that he would take it home to fish that night to share in the good fortune.

Holding a fishing rod, Chen Weiqiang childishly made some threats to himself:

"Hmph, we'll definitely catch a big fish tonight, bigger than the old man's tiger grouper."

Chen Zhiyao played on her phone for a while longer when her mother sent her a message telling her to hurry back for lunch.

She had just entered the house when the ruddy-faced old man returned shortly after. By then, the tiger-spotted tiger had already been taken to the purchasing station and sold.

The old man happily held up two brand-new 100-yuan bills and proudly showed them off to Grandma Chen:

"I told you we'd definitely catch a fish today, but you didn't believe me. You can't stop me from going fishing anymore."

Grandma Chen rolled her eyes at him and said indifferently, "It was just a blind cat catching a dead mouse. You must have been out of your mind to catch this fish."

"You old woman, is it so hard for you to admit that I'm great?"

"Get out, you shameless old geezer!"

Seeing her grandparents bickering like children, Chen Zhiyao smiled and got up to go to the kitchen to serve the dishes.

Today's chef is my mom. Cola chicken wings, stir-fried clams, octopus stir-fried with celery, and blanched bok choy are almost all her favorite dishes.

Chen Zhiyao was deeply moved. "My mom may complain, but she still loves me."

Then, with a fawning expression, he put a chicken wing on his mother's plate, and then put his grandparents' plates with their favorite dishes.

In the afternoon, Chen Zhiyao had to go to town to buy bait for fish traps. After lunch, she drove her family's tricycle out the door.

On the way, Chen Zhiyao was still thinking about whether she should buy another electric tricycle.

The shrimp in the shrimp pond and the chickens at home all need to be transported by tricycle for their food and feed.

Before she returned to the village, this tricycle was mainly used by Grandpa Chen and his mother.

She's back to being a fisherwoman now, and she uses it almost every day, which makes it inconvenient for the rest of the family.

After thinking about it for a while, Chen Zhiyao felt that the tricycle seemed too small. Once she put the fish in, she wouldn't be able to put the fish traps in.

The kind of van her dad drives seems pretty good, and it's more practical.

But there's a problem: she hasn't gotten her driver's license yet.

Finally, Chen Zhiyao decided to wait until her father came home that evening to discuss it together, since men have a natural fondness for cars.

Not long after, she arrived at the market near the dock and bought a large bag of pig liver and pig intestines.

Chen Zhiyao was too lazy to do it herself, so she asked the kind stall owner to cut it into small pieces for her.

After returning home, she mixed the pig liver and pig intestines together and placed them evenly in 12 earthenware jars.

Then, he took out the fish traps he had bought from the system.

This fish trap is 80 centimeters in diameter, and apart from the different color, it looks no different from other fish traps.

However, according to Xiaomeng, this fish trap not only increases the catch but is also not easily damaged.

Then she took out a fist-sized black sphere, which was a lure given by the system and was said to increase its attraction to big fish.

However, each trap only has 10 traps, and once they're used up, there aren't any left.

Chen Zhiyao took a nap and left around 5 o'clock with a car full of ground cages.

But when she arrived at the rocky beach, she was dumbfounded.

All I could see were puddles of all sizes, almost all of which contained fish traps, some even with two.

Not only that, the secret fishing spots, and the coral reef area, are also full of fish traps.

Chen Zhiyao was completely baffled, staring blankly at the row of floor cages on the vehicle:

"I just didn't put out the traps for two days, how come everything has changed so suddenly?"

Actually, it was Chen Zhiyao's recent beachcombing haul that was truly enviable.

She wasn't the only one going to the beach, and soon she was spotted by someone with ulterior motives, and her incredible luck could no longer be kept secret.

The villagers knew that traps were profitable, so many people started setting them up as well.

Originally, everyone just followed from a distance and did not openly seize territory.

But she had gone fishing at sea a couple of days ago and had brought the fish traps back in. Plus, she's off work today, so these spaces are now empty.

So, taking advantage of Chen Zhiyao's inattention, the villagers all put the ground cages back in her original spot.

However, these places all belong to the village and do not belong to her, so no matter how angry she is, there is nothing she can say.

In the end, she could only place the trap at the junction of the rocky beach and the white sand beach.

There aren't any valuable large animals here, so villagers generally don't like setting up traps here.

But all the other places were occupied, and this was the only place she could find to put the cage.

We'll try anything, even if it seems hopeless; we'll just have to see how things go first.

On her way back, Chen Zhiyao was filled with worry. If things really didn't work out, she would have to find a new place to put the traps as soon as possible.
