Having gotten up early, Chen Zhiyao and the others quickly went back to sleep on the deck.
When I opened my eyes, I could already see the silhouette of Seagull Island.
As expected of Seagull Island, Chen Zhiyao saw a large flock of seagulls flying in the sky even before she got close.
Its snow-white feathers shimmered in the sunlight, and with a gentle flap of its wings, it could soar through the blue sky.
These adorable seagulls didn't seem afraid of people; some even flew close to the boat and came into contact with Chen Zhiyao and the others. As Chen Zhiyao stood up and walked to the bow of the boat, another large flock of seagulls flew towards her.
She even saw one of the fierce seagulls snatch a small fish from the sea.
At this point, the fishing boat slowed down and was about to dock.
Just then, a snow-white seagull gently landed on Chen Zhiyao's shoulder.
She turned her head and raised her hand to gently stroke the adorable little guy.
Unexpectedly, as soon as I raised my hand, before I even touched it, the little seagull immediately flew away in fright.
Watching the little seagull fly away, Chen Zhiyao was furious:
"Hey, why are you running? Am I that scary?"
After the fishing boat docked, Chen Zhiyao and her group excitedly disembarked.
Grandpa Chen and Chen Weiqiang thought that the young people probably wouldn't want to be with them, their elders.
So they went fishing on the other side of the island, leaving Chen Zhiyao and the other three on the beach.
The tide went out late today, and there wasn't much on the beach yet, so no one was in a hurry to go beachcombing.
A few people strolled along the coastline, the sea breeze gently caressing their faces, bringing a touch of coolness.
Chen Zhiyao led her three friends to a clean white sand beach. The sand was fine, soft, and white, and it felt like walking on cotton.
Seeing that the beach was quite clean, Yang Yi immediately took off his shoes and socks and started running barefoot on the sand.
The three sisters strolled leisurely on the beach, chatting and occasionally watching seagulls soaring freely in the sky.
Suddenly, a seagull landed on a rock next to the three of them. The little guy tilted its head and curiously looked at the three giants in front of it.
"These seagulls are so cute!"
Tang Youyou carefully reached out her hand, extending kindness to the little guy.
Unexpectedly, the seagull fearlessly jumped onto her hand and gently pecked her fingers.
When Chen Zhiyao saw her best friend successfully attract that little guy, she couldn't help but feel a little envious.
So she followed Tang Youyou's example and carefully extended her finger.
However, to her utter surprise, the little guy was completely uninterested in her and wouldn't even acknowledge her.
Chen Zhiyao was not convinced and tried to tease the little guy a few more times.
Who knew this little guy had such a temper? He glared at us with his tiny eyes wide open, flapped his wings wildly, and looked like a fierce demon.
It even opened its tiny, pointed mouth as if to peck at her fingers.
Seeing this, Chen Zhiyao couldn't help but feel wronged and muttered:
"You little rascal, you're quite the hypocrite."
Seeing Chen Zhiyao's embarrassed expression, one of the two friends laughed so hard she couldn't stand up straight, while the other clutched her stomach and laughed as she said:
"Haha, it's because you always steal their food rations that they don't like you anymore."
"That's right. It's not the fault of those little seagulls; it's all because of your bad character."
Seeing that the two were still gloating, Chen Zhiyao decided to ignore them and picked up the bucket to walk towards the sea.
Unexpectedly, she was lucky. After taking only two steps forward, she found a large crab half-lying in the sand. The pretty little crab was half-lying in the sand, and Chen Zhiyao didn't even need to look for it; she simply used her claws to pull it out of the sand.
Then he took a cable tie from the bucket and tied the big crab up tightly.
After placing the large crab in the bucket, Chen Zhiyao cheerfully turned around and reminded her two best friends and Yang Yi, who was standing some distance away:
"The tide has receded quite a bit, hurry over and go beachcombing!"
"Here I am! Here I am!"
Li Lilin was very interested in beachcombing, and carrying a bucket, she ran happily towards Chen Zhiyao.
At this moment, Yang Yi also came over, saying, "It's just us here, I think we're sure to make a big splash today."
Tang Youyou squatted down with a beaming smile, deftly picking clams and scallops into the bucket, then laughed:
“I didn’t even notice until you told me, this whole beach has been leased out by us.”
Seeing that everyone was already skilled at beachcombing and didn't need her help, Chen Zhiyao carried her bucket and headed towards the sea.
Before long, she found several rocks, one of which was covered with mussels, which looked to weigh at least six or seven pounds.
These mussels are so densely packed; if Tang Youyou and Yang Yi saw them, they'd probably suffer from trypophobia again.
But she wasn't afraid. She immediately took out a net and started breaking off the delicious little creatures one by one.
Within minutes, she had harvested half a netful of mussels.
The rocks nearby, while lacking mussels, did have a number of whelks.
These spicy snails may look a bit rough, but they are all quite large; about 10 of them weigh about a pound.
After rummaging through the rocks, she found that her net bag contained two or three more pounds of large yellow snails, as well as a medium-sized horseshoe snail.
The seawater is constantly receding, and at the junction of the seawater and the beach, a long, narrow reef is exposed.
Chen Zhiyao walked forward through the shallow waves and then saw that the surface of the reef was covered with countless small abalone.
These little guys aren't very big; each one weighs at most one to two ounces.
However, there were a lot of them; one rock was almost entirely covered with abalone, and there must have been dozens of them.
"We're rich! We're rich!"
Chen Zhiyao muttered to herself as she quickly stuffed the little ones into the net bag in her hand.
Just as I broke all the abalone off the rocks, I saw a large blue crab hiding under the stone.
This creature had most of its body hidden inside the rock, with only two large and sharp pincers showing.
Chen Zhiyao wasn't afraid of it at all; she easily reached out and picked it up.
Large blue crab +1
After taking a few more steps, she saw several breathing holes on the ground.
Chen Zhiyao was very familiar with these breathing holes; they were all breathing holes of the bamboo clam.
She skillfully shoveled off the surface layer of sand, then sprinkled a thin layer of salt onto the breathing holes.
Soon, something crawled out of the hole.
These razor clams sprouted up like bamboo shoots after a spring rain. Chen Zhiyao was quick-witted and immediately pulled them all out, harvesting several plump razor clams in less than two minutes.
