Chapter 467 Releasing Animals

The big fish that escaped had barely survived; it certainly wouldn't linger in the same spot.

Under the cover of night, they had long since vanished without a trace.

The fishing rod in their hands remained motionless. The family of five huddled together and chatted for a while before going back to their rooms to rest.

Immersed in the tension and excitement of fishing during the day, Chen Zhiyao didn't feel tired at all; she was as excited as if she had been injected with chicken blood.

After a quick wash, Chen Zhiyao, lying in bed, felt waves of soreness wash over her body.

The muscles in my arms, in particular, are sore and painful; my hands were even shaking a bit when I was taking a shower.

At this moment, Yan Shuting came to Chen Zhiyao's side with a bottle of muscle massage oil.

"Are you tired? Lie down and I'll give you a massage."

Chen Zhiyao happily lay down on the soft bed, "Okay, you're the best mom in the world!"

"Smooth-talking!"

Yan Shuting poured the essential oil into her hands and skillfully massaged Chen Zhiyao's arms and shoulders, while also massaging her lower back.

Her technique was excellent; every press and knead was just right, effectively relieving the soreness in Chen Zhiyao's arms.

Not only that, Yan Shuting also gave Grandma Chen a massage.

Seeing that her mother had finished her work, Chen Zhiyao sat up and let Yan Shuting also enjoy her daughter's massage.

Everyone was quite tired today, and soon two soft snores filled the cabin. It was a new day! Chen Zhiyao's family was used to going to bed early and getting up early, and when the sky was still gray, they had already taken their fishing rods and gone to their fishing spot.

At this point, the fishing boat had arrived at a new sea area.

The fishing boat basically changes fishing spots every day; this is the third fishing spot on this trip.

Chen Zhiyao quickly ate two slices of bread, then excitedly turned on her X-ray glasses.

In the middle and upper layers of the water, there were small, dark shadows scattered about. These little creatures were particularly active, constantly swimming in the water.

However, he was too small, and Chen Zhiyao didn't like him at all.

Soon, she noticed with delight several particularly large dark shapes in the depths of the ocean.

These dark figures looked quite plump; they were clearly large fish weighing over a hundred pounds.

It's just that we're too far away, and these dark shapes look a bit blurry, so we can't tell what kind of fish they are for a moment.

With a big bait, Chen Zhiyao excitedly picked up the two largest and fattest squids.

After baiting the hook, she stared intently at the water, looking around.

After careful observation and comparison, she finally focused her attention on the largest and furthest shadow.

The dark shadow lay silently lurking deep in the water, giving off a mysterious and majestic feeling.

The distance was a bit far, so Chen Zhiyao used all her strength and suddenly threw the fishing rod straight ahead with all her might.

Because of the excessive force, the bait did not land accurately in the target location as expected, but instead landed not far in front of the big fish.

Just as Chen Zhiyao was secretly feeling annoyed, it seemed that Lady Luck was on her side.

The gluttonous creature quickly noticed the delicious food nearby and swam towards it.

As the huge black shadow approached the bait, Chen Zhiyao's palms were sweating with nervousness, and her heart was pounding like a drum.

Soon, the fishing rod in my hand indeed felt a strong pull.

The straight fishing rod was suddenly pulled into a crescent shape, and Chen Zhiyao quickly lifted the rod to set the hook.

This fish is quite strong, but something feels off; it feels a bit like the moonfish I caught yesterday.

As the fishing line continued to shorten, Chen Zhiyao finally saw the shape of the fish clearly.

Moonfish are shaped like discs, but their bodies are flat. The one below, however, is not flat at all; it's round all over.

This immediately eliminates moonfish, manta rays, and stingrays.

Chen Zhiyao's smile vanished instantly. "Damn, this is so unlucky! It's a sunfish!"

She had caught a sunfish while out at sea before, but the purchasing station didn't want it at all.

If it weren't for the fact that she had caught so many valuable fish and that they were old acquaintances, Yang Jiajun wouldn't have accepted this thing.

To be honest, Chen Zhiyao didn't like this guy at all, but since she had already caught a fish, she still diligently turned the fishing reel to start reeling in the line.

While she was engrossed in reeling in the cable, she didn't notice that the other round, dark figures nearby were being lured away by the people around her.

These people didn't have her X-ray vision glasses, and they all thought they had caught a moonfish, each one more excited than the last.

Half an hour later, a plump ocean sunfish was pulled out of the water. This ocean sunfish weighed at least 80 or 100 pounds, and Chen Zhiyao, exhausted, no longer had the strength to pull it up.

Fortunately, the staff brought over a small crane at that moment.

Just as the sunfish was hoisted into the air, a series of curses and swears erupted from a nearby fishing spot.

Chen Zhiyao no longer felt tired and turned around excitedly to watch the excitement.

It turned out to be another sunfish that had been caught.

The angler originally thought he had caught a moonfish, or at the very least a ray or a manta ray, but he never expected it to be this unpopular sunfish.

The man had a long face, but the other anglers on the boat were all beaming with joy and couldn't be happier.

Soon, more people on the boat caught sunfish.

Seeing that everyone else had caught sunfish, and none of them were as big as hers, Chen Zhiyao's mood actually improved.

She had just taken the hook off when Yan Rui walked over, looking a little embarrassed.

The fishing was good the past two days, and everyone caught quite a few ribbonfish yesterday, so the freezer is now about 50% full.

If we add these several giant sunfish, the catch for the next three days probably won't be enough to hold them all.

The others were doing well, but Chen Zhiyao's catch over the past two days was far ahead, with her catch exceeding that of two people combined.

Seeing that there wasn't enough storage space, Yan Rui discussed with her whether they could release the 100-pound sunfish back into the wild.

Thinking of the large yellow croaker and moonfish from the previous two days, Chen Zhiyao no longer cared about this worthless sunfish.

She was thinking of leaving the spot for other, more valuable, expensive fish. After all, she had come all the way to the high seas, and she was determined to bring back at least two tuna.

She readily agreed, "Sure, the ocean sunfish collection station doesn't want it either, so let's release it."

Yan Rui picked up the fish, took a few steps, and then Chen Zhiyao suddenly said:

“Brother Rui, this fish weighs a full 100 pounds. It’s a shame to release it like this. Why don’t we cut it up and use it as bait?”

Before Yan Rui could speak, Yan Shuting interrupted him:

"The reason why this sunfish is still alive and well is because it doesn't taste good. If you use it as bait, it will probably scare away all the other fish around."

Chen Zhiyao thought about it and realized it made sense; the fish in the sea didn't like to eat this thing at all.

"Alright, let's release them."

With a "plop," the sunfish was released back into the sea.

This guy completely changed his previous listless attitude; once in the water, he swam very quickly towards the deep sea.

Immediately afterwards, another sunfish was released by other anglers.

Two other people felt that they had finally caught a big one, and even though the fish wasn't worth much, they happily put it in the freezer.
