Chapter 366 Tuna Fishing

As the beautiful sunset glowed, a group of people walked on the soft, white sand, chatting and laughing as they loaded the day's catch onto the boat.

After a busy day of fishing, everyone was eager to share their catch with family and friends as soon as they got back to the boat.

Some shameless individuals even went so far as to share other people's catches on social media, showing them off repeatedly.

But since everyone does it this way, there's nothing to be embarrassed about.

There were no entertainment options on the ship, and the internet connection was slow and choppy.

On the boat, all we did was fish.

With nothing else to do, Chen Zhiyao and her family went to the deck to continue fishing after dinner.

Grandpa Chen and Grandma Chen don't have the energy of young people, and with their old arms and legs, they don't want to exert themselves. So they simply took out their squid rods to prepare bait for tomorrow's fishing.

The remaining three boasted that they wanted to catch tuna, and it had to be bluefin tuna.

Fishing alone is so boring, Chen Weiqiang, who's bad at fishing but addicted to it, is up to his old tricks again.

"How about we have a competition to see who can catch the bluefin tuna the fastest? The loser will have to clean their house for a week."

“Okay, let’s compete.” Chen Zhiyao didn’t think she would lose at all and agreed without even thinking.

Yan Shuting glanced at her confident daughter, then glared at her husband with a hint of annoyance:

"This girl always wins, I'm not going to compete."

She's not stupid; why would she go out of her way to be abused? People should know their place.

"I'm sure I can win this time!" Chen Weiqiang knew he always lost, but he just wouldn't give up.

"Come on, the loser will not only have to clean up, but also be responsible for everyone's midnight snack tonight."

Chen Zhiyao wasn't worried about losing at all, and even confidently added an extra condition.

"Let's compete then."

"I'll be the referee." No matter who wins, Yan Shuting will benefit, and she's even more excited than the father and daughter.

Immediately afterwards, the two each hooked a large squid and began a tense and exciting competition.

Chen Weiqiang was strong, and he threw the bait several meters out to sea with great force, then looked at the sea ahead with anticipation.

Chen Zhiyao, who was standing to the side, did not rush to fish. Instead, she first turned on her X-ray glasses and looked at the water surface within a few dozen meters.

Unfortunately, there wasn't a single large fish in the water, let alone a giant like a tuna.

Realizing that the X-ray glasses were cheating, Chen Zhiyao immediately turned them off and casually tossed the bait into the sea.

Time passed second by second, and several minutes had gone by, but the fishing rod that Chen Zhiyao was holding tightly remained motionless, as if she were asleep.

Her initially expectant gaze gradually turned somewhat disappointed and bored.

Left with no other choice, Chen Zhiyao simply took out her phone from her pocket.

After scrolling through my WeChat Moments without finding any fish biting, I started reading the beachcombing novel I'd been following before.

I got so engrossed in reading it that I even sent the author free little gifts when I was really enjoying it.

I had just handed out the small gift when I was surprised to receive a sharp tug on my fishing rod with tremendous force.

The previously quiet reel suddenly emitted a sharp, piercing squeaking sound and began frantically releasing line.

At the same time, the fishing rod bent in an extremely exaggerated way, forming an amazing arc.

Looking at the rapidly spinning reel and the extreme bending of the fishing rod, it goes without saying that it must be a giant weighing over 100 pounds.

Chen Zhiyao became excited and shouted excitedly:

"Goodness, this fish must weigh at least 100 pounds, it might even be a bluefin tuna. Looks like I'm going to win this competition for sure."

"Don't be too happy yet, let's talk about it after you catch some fish."

As she spoke, Chen Zhiyao immediately doubled her strength and rolled up her sleeves, ready to get to work.

Suddenly, the big creature in the water lunged forward again, pulling her towards the railing.

"Whoosh whoosh whoosh..." The sound of the fishing line cutting through the water was heavy and rapid.

Chen Zhiyao's commotion was quite loud, and it quickly attracted the attention of Grandpa Chen who was standing nearby.

"Tangtang, do you want me to help you fish?"

Although Grandpa Chen used a question mark, he had already run over briskly and stared intently at the fishing rod in her hand.

Seeing that her grandfather's face clearly showed that he wanted to play the fish, Chen Zhiyao simply handed him the fishing rod.

As she handed it over, she didn't forget to remind her:

"This fish is very strong, probably a tuna weighing over 100 pounds. Grandpa, be careful."

Upon hearing about tuna, Grandpa Chen became even more excited, a simple, silly smile spreading across his face.

"I'm quite strong too, it's unlucky to run into me."

The big guys below are indeed strong, but Chen Zhiyao has two people on her side.

The grandfather and grandson took turns playing with the fish, and when one got tired, the other would take over, slowly wearing it down.

As time went by, an hour later, the big fish below gradually grew tired.

The grandfather and grandson seized the opportunity to quickly reel in the line and finally pulled it close to the side of the boat.

When the big fish surfaced, everyone exclaimed in surprise; it really was a tuna weighing over 100 pounds!

Unfortunately, it wasn't a bluefin tuna, but a cheaper yellowfin tuna.

However, the yellowfin tuna is also quite good; such a large one should be worth at least ten or twenty thousand.

When the grandfather and grandson brought the huge yellowfin tuna aboard the boat, the whole boat erupted in excitement!

Those "fishing enthusiasts" who were already passionate about fishing were now as excited as if they were on steroids.

Soon, cheerful announcements began to play on the ship again:

"Congratulations to the angler at fishing spot number 3 for catching a yellowfin tuna weighing 132 pounds!"

"Congratulations on fishing spot number 3..."

Tuna usually appear in groups, so Grandma Chen put down her dried squid and quickly came over to fish with everyone.

"You can't catch a wolf without risking your cub," Chen Zhiyao thought, and took a two-pound sea bass from the bucket and hooked it up, hoping to catch an even bigger tuna.

She didn't know if it was the bait, but she caught a fish again very quickly this time.

Feeling the immense pull from the fishing rod, she was overjoyed.

This fish, though not as big as the previous one, must weigh at least 100 pounds.

This trip to sea was incredibly lucky; we actually encountered a school of yellowfin tuna.

Tonight, most of the people on the boat caught tuna, and Chen Zhiyao even caught two big ones. She was so happy that she could hardly sleep.

Neither the father nor the daughter caught a bluefin tuna, so it was a draw, and the competition was postponed to tomorrow.
