Butterflyfish
Seeing that her grandfather had already caught a big fish, Chen Zhiyao was not to be outdone and quickly put an octopus on the hook.
Then he threw it forcefully at one of the dark figures.
But it used too much force, and the trembling octopus jumped over the big fish in front of it and landed about one or two meters away.
"..."
Chen Zhiyao was stunned for a moment, not expecting that she had failed, and by such a large margin.
Just as she was about to move the bait back, a long, dark shadow was quietly approaching.
Soon, she felt a strong dragging sensation on the fishing rod in her hand.
Chen Zhiyao looked down and saw that the small black shadow represented by the octopus was gone, replaced by a thick and long creature.
Judging from its strength and size, it's probably a huge moray eel.
After turning off her X-ray glasses, Chen Zhiyao focused on walking the sea eel.
This creature was bigger and stronger than any moray eel she had ever encountered before.
However, unlike sea fish, which have explosive power, the strength of their struggles is nothing compared to Chen Zhiyao's experience of catching many large fish.
In just a few minutes, a sesame eel, thicker than her wrist and over a meter long, was pulled out of the water.
Its dark body writhed wildly in mid-air, looking quite frightening.
She didn't dare look at it for long and quickly pulled it onto the deck.
Chen Zhiyao moved very carefully, afraid of accidentally throwing this terrifying creature onto herself.
This giant eel must weigh at least 10 pounds, and its open mouth revealed two rows of sharp teeth that gleamed coldly.
When removing the fishing hook, Chen Zhiyao made a point of using tongs to hold the still frantically wriggling eel in place; otherwise, she wouldn't have dared to touch it.
Just then, I heard my grandma and mom laughing behind me; they were serving fish again.
When she opened the X-ray glasses again, she found that the large dark figure that had been in front of her had disappeared.
Looking at the small, dark shadows all around her, Chen Zhiyao muttered irritably:
"Where's my big fish? How could such a big fish just disappear?"
Suddenly, she remembered that her mother and grandmother had both had fish bite the hook at the same time.
Could it be that while she was reeling in her fish, it got snatched away by other baits?
"It seems this bait additive is quite effective."
With all the big fish caught, Chen Zhiyao had to switch to smaller hooks, turning the whole octopus into a small octopus leg.
Seeing quite a few small dark shadows underwater, Chen Zhiyao simply turned off her X-ray glasses.
She also thoroughly enjoyed the fun of opening blind boxes.
As soon as the bait hit the water, Chen Zhiyao felt a slight vibration coming from the fishing rod in her hand.
It had very little strength; it was clearly a small, immature fish fry.
Chen Zhiyao leisurely turned the reel handle in her hand, and in two quick movements, she pulled a beautiful little fish out of the water.
This little guy has a long, pointed snout, large yellow and white stripes on his body, and most notably, two round black spots on his tail.
"It turns out to be a moon-spotted butterflyfish; it looks quite unique."
Moon-spotted butterflyfish
Butterflyfish, also known as butterfly toothfish, are found in 14 genera and about 57 species in China, with the moon-spotted butterflyfish being one of them.
Chen Zhiyao thought the fish was quite pretty, so she put it together with the angelfish she had caught that morning.
Looking at the several colorful and beautiful fish, Chen Zhiyao said with a smile:
"Don't worry, I will treat you well and I will definitely not let you go hungry."
Meanwhile, the little pufferfish in Baisha Village cried out in distress: "I'm about to choke to death!"
Unfortunately, Chen Zhiyao couldn't understand the fish's cries, and in a good mood, she cast the baited hook back into the water.
This time, the fish took a little longer to bite. It took a full two minutes before she felt a gentle pull on the fishing rod in her hand.
"This fish has no strength at all, it probably weighs less than half a pound." There was a hint of disdain in his tone.
Chen Zhiyao had little patience for these small fish, roughly turning the reel in, wanting to catch it quickly.
A few moments later, several long whiskers emerged from the water.
Upon seeing that familiar beard, Chen Zhiyao immediately smiled.
The next second, the creature in the water revealed its full form.
It's a small, brightly colored green dragon, and it's quite big, weighing at least a pound.
"Haha, I didn't expect to catch a little green dragon."
She originally thought they were small fish fry, but they turned out to be big lobsters, and she was so happy she couldn't stop smiling.
Chen Zhiyao was quick to catch fish, and soon more fish were biting the hook.
This fish was stronger, and based on its feel, Chen Zhiyao guessed it was a larger butterflyfish.
Sure enough, in less than two minutes, she flew a yellow butterflyfish onto the deck.
This is a striped butterflyfish, with horizontal black stripes on its body.
Striped Butterfly Fish
The striped butterflyfish has a rather unique appearance; it's not that it's ugly, but the patterns on its body look like they've been pixelated.
After looking at it for a while, Chen Zhiyao felt her eyes were getting blurry; this definitely couldn't be kept at home.
She wasn't interested in the fish and casually tossed it into another bucket of live fish.
The bait was cast into the water again, and the next second, she felt a fish bite the hook.
Chen Zhiyao was even a little incredulous, "This speed is too fast."
Although it was just another small fish, the thought that it might be a beautiful coral reef made Chen Zhiyao feel better.
I wonder what kind of fish it will be this time? Angelfish, butterflyfish, or spinytail?
She thought of all the beautiful coral fish, and was really looking forward to this sea fish.
"Whoosh whoosh whoosh..."
The fishing line was quickly reeled in, and the fish in the water struggled desperately, splashing water everywhere.
In the hazy light, Chen Zhiyao saw a yellow and blue butterfly fish.
After thinking for several seconds, she finally remembered that it was a Mary butterflyfish.
This fish has a very vivid and colorful feel to it, like an oil painting, and doesn't look like a real fish in real life at all.
Mary Butterfly Fish
The Mali butterflyfish has particularly vibrant colors and looks like a toy fish, but it is indeed a real, live fish.
To be honest, she quite liked these vibrant and brightly colored fish; looking at them made her feel better.
"This fish is also good; it looks really nice."
Chen Zhiyao happily placed it together with the several beautiful coral fish she had just selected.
Three angelfish, two butterflyfish, plus the little pufferfish I have at home, my fish tank is just the right size to hold them all.
She even fantasized that with companions, these little guys might live a little longer.
Just then, Grandpa Chen, beaming with joy, caught a large blue grouper weighing over 10 kilograms.
Compared to the large blue grouper in the old man's hand, Chen Zhiyao immediately felt that these beautiful coral fish were not so appealing.
No matter how beautiful it is, it can't compare to a grouper that costs thousands of dollars.
However, all the big fish in the vicinity had been killed by their own family, so Chen Zhiyao had no way to catch any big fish even if she wanted to.
They had no choice but to resort to the same old trick: throwing the remaining bait from the bucket into the water to create a feeding area, and then using a net to scoop up the fish.
