The seemingly smooth beach actually hides many plump, white sandworms underneath. (No pictures are provided, so you can view with confidence.)
Sandworms are very fast; unless you're an experienced digger, they'll escape after a couple of digs.
Apart from her aunt, no one in her family was very good at digging for sandworms. It was only because she had the X-ray glasses, a cheat tool, that things got a little better.
Knowing that others weren't good at digging either, Chen Zhiyao didn't call for help. Instead, she quickly dug down into the sand with a large sand shovel.
No matter how fast the sandworms dodge, they can't dig as fast as she can. In just a few moments, she dug up a long, thin, pink sandworm.
Although sandworms look like earthworms, they taste very delicious and have a crunchy texture, somewhat like bamboo shoots.
Her aunt was an expert at digging sandworms and often sent them home, which Chen Zhiyao quite liked.
Thinking of the delicious sandworms, his hands moved faster and faster.
It's probably because of the heavy rains a few days ago that these sandworms are coming out to get some fresh air. They're mostly on the surface of the sand, and you can dig one up in just two or three shovelfuls.
Practice makes perfect, and Chen Zhiyao became more and more adept at digging.
In about 20 minutes, she had dug up all the sandworms in front of her.
After digging up the yellow clams, Yan Shuting couldn't help but give her a thumbs up as she passed by.
"You're pretty quick! You've already dug up half a bucket of sandworms in no time."
"Of course! I'm a pro at beachcombing." Even though I used a cheat code, no one else knew that.
Chen Zhiyao happily picked up the bucket of water beside her feet, proudly weighed it in her hand, and felt it weighed about eight pounds.
"What a jerk! I also dug up dozens of kilograms of yellow clams." As she spoke, Yan Shuting picked up a few more cat's-eye snails and put them into the bucket.
Chen Zhiyao was extremely smug and said tauntingly, "Isn't that what I discovered? It's all my doing."
Enraged, Yan Shuting glared at her and said, "I think you're asking for a beating."
"Someone's gotten angry!" he said, quickly picking up the bucket and slipping away.
Chen Zhiyao jogged along and soon arrived at a rocky beach.
rocky beach
The rocks trapped all sorts of seafood that had been swept ashore by the waves, and as far as the eye could see, there was a feast for the eyes.
In the nearest small puddle, there were several pink scallops, their bright red color making them look very pretty.
Moreover, at the very bottom of the puddle, there was a large blue crab hiding motionless in the mud.
However, Chen Zhiyao, who had turned on her X-ray glasses, spotted it immediately.
Doing two steps in one, Chen Zhiyao happily tucked it into the bucket.

She had only taken two steps when she was pleasantly surprised to find many tiny seashells, like melon seeds, at the bottom of a puddle.
"So many clams, and they're quite big too."
As she spoke, Chen Zhiyao took out the net from the bucket and scooped all the clams mixed with mud and sand into the net.
The net was gently swung in the puddle a few times, and the originally dirty sea snails were cleaned.
Clams are getting more expensive every day at the end of the year, and Chen Zhiyao was very happy to see these valuable little seashells.
She worked quickly and soon dug out all the things still hanging at the bottom of the puddle.
However, the quantity is not large; if all of them were collected, they would only weigh about two or three kilograms.
After picking up the sea snails, Chen Zhiyao looked up and saw a few half-shelled snails in a crevice in the rocks.
Half snail
The half-snail is semi-circular, so it looks like only half of a snail, hence the name.
Half snails have become increasingly rare in recent years, and Chen Zhiyao hasn't eaten them in a long time, so she was quite happy to see them here.
Besides the half-snails in the crevices of the rocks, there's a whole nest of them on the back of the reef.
In less than two minutes, these small snails had gathered together in the bucket.
As Chen Zhiyao was about to continue walking, she happened to see a lot of sea snails at the bottom of the puddle next to her.
The clams in the puddle were a little smaller than the ones from before, but there were still quite a lot of them. They were all cleaned and weighed about three or four pounds.
As she walked down the path, various kinds of seafood kept appearing in front of Chen Zhiyao.

As she walked, she discovered a rather large red flower crab under a crevice in the rocks.
Red Flower Crab
This guy was quite calm. When he saw Chen Zhiyao coming over, he didn't hide. He just stood there like an idiot.
Soon, the guy was tied up with zip ties.

At this time, many crabs came out to forage for food. After taking only two steps, she found two crabs, one large and one small, in the seaweed in the crevice of the rocks.
The larger ones are mud crabs, weighing seven or eight ounces, while the smaller ones are red flower crabs, weighing only about half a pound.

Seeing that the tide was about to recede to the bottom, Chen Zhiyao quickened her pace and walked forward.
A short while later, Chen Zhiyao found an enormous shrimp under a rock.
Large shrimp
This giant prawn was not only beautiful, but also incredibly large, at least as long as her palm.
Chen Zhiyao tiptoed forward, and the all-purpose tongs in her hand quickly caught the super-sized shrimp, which was longer than her palm.
"These prawns still have roe, they probably weigh about half a pound."

These prawns taste pretty good. Chen Zhiyao wanted to look for some more, since one wasn't enough to share.
She looked around but didn't find any large prawns; however, she did find several large abalone weighing about half a pound each.
Chen Zhiyao happily used a shovel to pry the abalone off the rock wall.
Even without prawns and abalone, it's still a great dish; they're all delicious ingredients.

By this time, the seawater had receded to the bottom, and this area was usually covered by seawater, so there were even more good things here than before.
Whelks on the rocks, horseshoe snails hidden in the crevices, sea urchins covered in thorns, and sesame eels foraging for food...
The variety of fresh seafood dazzled Chen Zhiyao.

Chen Zhiyao was as happy as a mouse that had fallen into a rice jar, she was so happy she was completely lost.
"Splash splash splash..."
Suddenly, a wave half a meter high crashed towards Chen Zhiyao.
She had no time to dodge and was hit squarely.
Fortunately, she was wearing waders, which covered her lower body completely, thus avoiding getting soaked.
Having escaped unscathed, Chen Zhiyao quickly ran back before the second wave hit.
But just as she turned around, she caught a glimpse of several long whiskers emerging from a crack in the rock.
