Chapter 127 There are no fish here

The sack was big and heavy, and the more Chen Zhiyao looked at it, the more she felt that there was someone hiding inside.

The scene of murder and body disposal kept replaying in her mind like a movie.

The thought sent a shiver down Chen Zhiyao's spine, and she looked at Chen Weiqiang, who was standing not far away, in terror.

"Dad, Dad, I fished up a huge sack, but I don't know what's inside. Can you come and take a look?" His voice trembled slightly.

Chen Zhiyao usually seems very brave, but she is actually very timid. When watching horror movies, she keeps her eyes closed the whole time.

"They're here."

Hearing her words, Chen Weiqiang and Grandpa Chen walked over with curious expressions.

The two men were frequent fishermen; what hadn't they caught? Considering themselves seasoned veterans, the father and son weren't afraid at all.

Chen Weiqiang took the fishing rod from his daughter's hand and vigorously turned the handle of the reel.

"This sack is quite heavy; I wonder what's inside."

Grandpa Chen gave his son a disdainful look. "I always tell you to exercise more and do more work, but you just shirk your responsibilities. You have no energy at all."

As he spoke, the old man stepped forward to help.

Before long, the father and son worked together to drag the extremely heavy sack ashore.

Compared to the father and son's curiosity, Chen Zhiyao seemed much more timid, only daring to hide behind Chen Weiqiang.

She covered her eyes tightly with her two little hands, peeking through her fingers every now and then.

"What's there to be afraid of with your guts?"

As he spoke, Chen Weiqiang opened the sack, glanced at its contents, and cried out in horror:

"Ahhh..."

Immediately afterwards, Chen Zhiyao behind him let out a series of screams:

"Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhh..."

Even the seagulls in the distance were all scared away.

When Grandpa Chen saw that his granddaughter was frightened, he slapped Chen Weiqiang, who was laughing happily, on the head.

"How old are you? Stop pretending to be a ghost and scaring people. How childish are you?"

"It hurts, it hurts."

"You deserve to be in so much pain, you're so childish."

The old man kicked him again, then turned and gently patted his granddaughter's back to comfort her:

"It's nothing, it's just some ordinary trash. Your dad was just trying to scare you."

Upon hearing that the sack contained only ordinary garbage, Chen Zhiyao quickly opened her tightly closed eyes.

She hid behind Grandpa Chen, her hands still covering her eyes, peeking through her open fingers at the sack in front of her.

There were no corpses or bloody things inside, just some old clothes, takeout boxes and miscellaneous garbage.

As for why it was so heavy, it was entirely because the old clothes were soaked with water, which added a lot of weight.

Thankfully, it was just a false alarm.

Once she calmed down, Chen Zhiyao immediately rushed in front of Chen Weiqiang and slapped his arm several times.

"You're already in your fifties or sixties, how childish! I'm going to tell my mom when I get home that you bullied me again."

Chen Weiqiang looked at his daughter with schadenfreude, his face showing utter fearlessness:

"Haha, I told you to watch fewer horror movies, but you wouldn't listen. You're a noob but a heavy addict."

"I haven't even mentioned how you're always talking about the Air Force, you're bad at it but addicted to it. I'll return that to you."

"you……"

Chen Weiqiang was furious when his daughter's words hit a nerve. She felt like a knife had pierced his heart.

Grandpa Chen saw that the two sworn enemies, father and daughter, were arguing again, so he quickly separated them.

"Alright, alright, Ah Qiang, tie this trash up and take it with you when you leave."

"Okay." Chen Weiqiang quickly re-tied the bag of trash.

This is a habit of fishermen; they will usually pick up any trash they see on the beach.

The grandfather and granddaughter took the bag of trash away, but Chen Zhiyao still felt a little uncomfortable standing on the rock, as if the atmosphere here wasn't quite right.

I spent over an hour here before, but didn't catch any valuable fish.

Chen Zhiyao simply packed up her things and followed behind Chen Weiqiang.

The father and daughter arrived at the excellent fishing spot that Chen Zhiyao had previously chosen.

She was speechless when she saw Chen Weiqiang's empty bucket.

"Dad, why are you in the Air Force again? What a waste of the good position I picked for you."

"..."

"Yeah, how come they're so bad?"

Grandpa Chen only caught a small white pomfret weighing half a pound. When he saw someone who was even less skilled than him, he immediately straightened his back and started showing off.

"You two, don't go too far. If the fish doesn't bite, what can I do?"

Chen Weiqiang was also very puzzled. The three of them were using large shrimp caught from their own shrimp pond as bait, but their fishing rods just wouldn't move.

After thinking for a moment, Chen Weiqiang looked at the grandfather and grandson with a mournful expression:

"I think it must have been the two of you. You fished all the fish here yesterday. There are no fish left here."

Chen Weiqiang firmly believes that the problem lies here; there are simply no fish here.

After saying that, he nodded in agreement.

Chen Zhiyao: "..."

Is this the stubbornness of a fisherman? He'd rather believe there are no fish below than believe he can't catch any.

Grandpa Chen, standing to the side, nodded seriously, "The fishing conditions are indeed not very good today."

After fishing for over an hour, the old man had only caught one small white pomfret. He felt that the fishing conditions today were much worse than yesterday.

Chen Weiqiang suddenly slapped his thigh excitedly, then said enthusiastically:

"We have a fish finder on the boat. Let's sail around the area. Maybe we'll find a big fish."

Neither Chen Zhiyao nor Grandpa Chen had any objections. They hadn't caught anything decent all morning, and they didn't want to stay there any longer.

The three men carried their belongings onto the small inflatable boat and soon returned to their fishing boat.

Looking at her phone, it was already 11 o'clock. Chen Zhiyao and Grandpa Chen went to the kitchen to make lunch.

Chen Weiqiang was responsible for navigating the boat to find schools of fish.

Due to limited conditions on the ship, Chen Zhiyao didn't cook anything too complicated for lunch. She just steamed two sea fish and a few crabs, along with a dish of lettuce with oyster sauce.

She had just put the food on the table when the fishing boat stopped in another sea area.

Although the surrounding sea surface looks no different from what it appears to be, it is indeed in another place, and the water here is much deeper.

Along the way, Chen Weiqiang didn't find any decent schools of fish. As for why he stopped here...

This is because there is a coral reef below, which is home to many different kinds of marine life, including fish that inhabit this area.

To save time, the grandfather, grandson, and granddaughter each carried a large bowl of lunch and squatted in the same position, eagerly waiting in front of the fishing rod.

The three of them ate while making a bet to see who could serve the fish the fastest.

"It must be me."

Chen Zhiyao thought to herself that she had already gotten a cheat code, so it had to be her, and she was full of confidence.

Chen Weiqiang looked unconvinced. "That's not necessarily true. Maybe it'll be me."

Although Grandpa Chen didn't say a word, his face showed his determination.
