Chapter 457 A Bountiful Harvest of Sea Bass

The three people on the fishing boat transformed into ruthless fishing robots, pulling up sea bass of all sizes one after another.

When Chen Zhiyao and her daughter finally returned to the fishing boat with trepidation, the scene before them left them speechless.

The once spacious and open deck was now filled with several large buckets of sea bass. Each bucket was crammed full, leaving almost no space between them.

However, that's not all.

Following Chen Weiqiang's smug gaze, the mother and daughter looked towards the live water tank and found it also teeming with lively sea bass.

Looking at so many sea bass, the two couldn't help but regret not going to the seabed and instead staying on the boat to fish.

Such a frenzied attack by sea bass is quite rare, and Chen Zhiyao looked utterly dejected, as if she had missed out on a fortune.

Hearing his granddaughter's voice, Grandpa Chen, who had been intently fishing with his head down, slowly raised his head and asked in a loud voice:

"You're back so soon! How was your day?"

Chen Zhiyao gathered the scattered nets together, her face slightly pale, as if she had not yet fully recovered from the shock she had just experienced.

"I caught quite a lot of fish, but unfortunately I ran into a shark hunting, which was quite scary."

"Yes, it was quite scary, but thankfully it ended without any serious injury." Yan Shuting finally breathed a sigh of relief after returning to the fishing boat.

Upon hearing that the mother and daughter had just encountered a shark underwater, the three people who were leisurely fishing instantly panicked.

They even disregarded the fishing rods they were holding tightly and rushed over anxiously.

Chen Weiqiang ran the fastest and arrived in front of the mother and daughter in the blink of an eye. He looked them over carefully from head to toe with a worried expression.

His face was filled with concern, and he asked repeatedly, "Are you two alright? Are you hurt anywhere?"

Grandma Chen, following behind, also had anxiety and worry written all over her face, muttering to herself:

"Thank God you're back safe and sound. Are you alright?"

Even the usually composed Grandpa Chen looked shaken, with a fine layer of sweat on his forehead.

Seeing everyone so tense, Yan Shuting quickly explained, "It's nothing, it's just a false alarm. The shark chased the school of fish and ran away from the side."

Fearing that people wouldn't believe her, Chen Zhiyao jumped up and down twice to show that she was perfectly fine.

Grandpa Chen gently wiped the sweat from his forehead and said with lingering fear:

"Sharks are rarely seen in this area. Who would have thought that you two would run into one today?"

Grandma Chen held Chen Zhiyao's hand and said with concern, "From now on, you should stay on the boat and fish. The seabed is too dangerous."

Thinking back to the terrifying scene of her close encounter with the shark, Chen Zhiyao still felt lingering fear.

She nodded slightly, indicating that she would never dare to go into the water rashly again from now on.

Seeing that the mother and daughter were unharmed, Chen Weiqiang breathed a sigh of relief, then shamelessly boasted:

"I told you not to go into the water, it would have been so much better to stay on the boat and fish. The sea bass are especially easy to catch today, I've caught more than a dozen, and each one weighs four or five pounds or more."

As he spoke, he deliberately held up the bucket full of sea bass and waved it in front of the mother and daughter, showing off his bountiful catch.

That cheeky little expression made the mother and daughter so angry they wanted to grind their teeth.

Chen Zhiyao rolled her eyes at her father and muttered in dissatisfaction:

"What's so great about it? The fish are still there. I'll definitely catch more than you later."

No sooner had she finished speaking than Grandma Chen suddenly slapped her forehead: "Oh dear, stop chatting here! The sea bass are biting like crazy today, let's go fishing!"

Upon hearing this, everyone remembered the fish below and immediately sprinted back to the deck to continue fishing.

Even Chen Zhiyao and Yan Shuting changed their clothes as quickly as possible and came over excitedly to go fishing together.

In the blink of an eye, everyone was back to their intense fishing business.

Unfortunately, the fish had been lingering there for quite some time, and despite Chen Weiqiang throwing down a lot of fish he had collected from beachcombing to create a feeding area, they all scattered in all directions.

Chen Zhiyao had just caught two large bass weighing six or seven pounds and was feeling happy when she suddenly noticed that the fish seemed to have disappeared, and no third fish had taken the bait.

Upon opening the X-ray glasses, the dense, dark shadows that had been there before were indeed all gone.

All the fish have escaped; not only can she not catch any fish, but everyone's fishing rods are completely still.

Chen Weiqiang, not knowing what was going on, muttered resentfully:

"What happened? It was so easy to catch fish just now, did the school of fish get away?"

The fish below had indeed escaped, but Chen Zhiyao couldn't say it outright. Seeing that it was getting late, she turned around and went to the kitchen to prepare lunch.

It's unclear whether the fish in the morning scared away the other fish, but after the fish left, the fishing rods in the five people's hands remained still.

After sitting for more than an hour, Chen Zhiyao became a little impatient and got up to collect the fishing nets and cages.

Seeing that Chen Weiqiang and Grandpa Chen remained seated on the deck, unwilling to leave, he smiled and coaxed them:

"The gillnets that were set this morning are nearby; those sea bass might all be caught in them."

Chen Weiqiang stood up reluctantly, muttering to himself:

"That's good! Such a big school of fish, but they're all caught in the net. How much can they be sold for?"

Chen Zhiyao was just saying it casually, but she was completely dumbfounded when several nets were pulled up.

Aside from the fine-mesh net which only caught ribbonfish, the remaining three gillnets were indeed all sea bass.

Apart from a few nets, even the shrimp traps, crab traps, and sea baskets were all filled with sea bass.

Moreover, these sea bass are quite large, mostly weighing four or five pounds or more, with many weighing around ten pounds.

Even excluding the ones caught by a few people, these sea bass should weigh at least two or three thousand catties.

Today's sea bass catch was bountiful, and the atmosphere on the boat was joyous; all that was missing was popping champagne to celebrate.

The fishing boat had only sailed a few hundred meters when Chen Zhiyao, standing on the deck, was pleasantly surprised to see two gray dolphins leaping joyfully out of the water.

The two adorable dolphins kept leaping on the surface of the sea, making melodious calls.

Chen Zhiyao looked at the two little guys excitedly, feeling that they looked more and more familiar. Weren't they the two dolphins from this morning?

Unfortunately, the two dolphins appeared suddenly and left just as suddenly, disappearing from the sea surface in just a few minutes.

Two hours later, the boundless blue sea transformed into a familiar dock.

As the sun gradually set, the sky was dyed a brilliant fiery red, like a burning flame, illuminating the entire sky in a brilliant crimson glow. Enjoy the beautiful scenery! Along the pier, there's a coastal road lined with huge white windmills.

As the sea breeze blew, the tall windmills began to turn slowly.

The huge leaves drew graceful arcs in the air, making a "creaking" sound.

Today was a bumper harvest of sea bass, and Chen Zhiyao and the others had joyful smiles on their faces as they carried their catch to the dock with cheerful steps.
