Chapter 292 A Walk on the Beach 1

The family of five at the seaside coconut tree, except for Chen Zhiyao who wanted to take a walk on the beach, the other four wanted to go fishing at their secret base.

Chen Weiqiang first dropped his daughter off at Baisha Beach, then left with the others.

The beach was quite lively back then. Chen Zhiyao carried a bucket in one hand and tongs in the other, walking slowly on the sand.

At the very top of the white sand beach, there is a row of neat coconut trees, and under the trees is fine, white sand that feels very comfortable to walk on barefoot.

Under the largest coconut tree, several five- or six-year-old kids were sitting on the soft sand, playing in the sand.

The little kid would occasionally blurt out a few silly but adorable things, making Chen Zhiyao cover her mouth and giggle.

Seeing the children staring at her strangely, she quickly walked down the beach, afraid that they would mistake her for a child abductor.

By this time, the tide had receded, and many people were gathering seafood on the beach. The closer the white sand beach was to the sea at low tide, the more interesting things there were, and naturally, the more people there were.

After a week of busy work at sea, Chen Zhiyao's main focus today is to relax and let loose.

There was no sun at this time, and the sea breeze was quite pleasant.

She didn't go down below to compete with others for seafood; instead, she leisurely strolled in the middle of the beach.

Before long, she discovered two particularly beautiful starfish.

These two little starfish, one is pale yellow and the other is pinkish-purple, look completely different from the ones I keep in my fish tank at home.

Chen Zhiyao happily picked up the two beautiful starfish.

Although most of the fish in the tank died, the starfish were still alive and well.

Chen Zhiyao decided not to make things difficult for herself anymore. She would stop raising fish and just raise some pretty starfish instead.

Nothing in this world is difficult; as long as you're willing to give up, there's absolutely no need to make things difficult for yourself.

She walked a few more steps and soon spotted two small bulges.

One of the bulges contained a small crab, but it was too small, so Chen Zhiyao casually put it back in its original place.

The other bulge looked like a cat's eye snail, but when you dug it out, it turned out to be a beautiful sieve shell.

After walking a few more steps, Chen Zhiyao saw some marks on the ground that looked like octopus tracks.

She followed the tracks for nearly two meters but didn't find the octopus.

Just when she thought the creature had been eaten by the seabird, she was surprised to see a small bulge in front of her the next second.

Digging away the sand, sure enough, an octopus was hidden inside.

It seems the dehydration lasted too long; the little guy looks like he's on the verge of death and has almost no energy left.

Chen Zhiyao put some seawater into the bucket, and the octopus inside immediately became much more energetic.

Picking up the bucket, just as she was about to continue walking, she unexpectedly spotted a delicate cat's-eye snail next to it. This particular cat's-eye snail wasn't very big, but it was quite full of water. With a gentle squeeze, several jets of water immediately sprayed out.

I had just put the little guy into the bucket when I looked up and saw two small bulges right in front of me.

I was lucky; the shells inside were all cat's-eye snails, and they were quite big too.

Besides various small mounds, there are also many breathing holes on the beach.

These breathing holes vary in size, and the little creatures living inside them are all different.

Those that have breathing holes are generally razor clams, sea bean sprouts, mantis shrimp, and some shellfish.

Chen Zhiyao mainly came here for a walk today, and didn't waste the time with the X-ray glasses, digging randomly based on her senses.

However, she was quite lucky and managed to dig out a few sea bean sprouts and clams.

There aren't many valuable seafood items on the beach; what you encounter on the road are mostly various kinds of shellfish.

As she walked, she suddenly noticed two seagulls swooping down from mid-air.

Based on her years of experience beachcombing, she was certain there were octopuses or other small seafood on the beach below.

Without a second's hesitation, Chen Zhiyao rushed over.

Sure enough, there was a huge octopus on the beach, weighing at least half a pound. She arrived at the two seagulls in front of the octopus almost at the same time, and the seagulls were even faster than her.

However, the octopus was too big, and no matter how hard the two seagulls tried, they couldn't carry it away.

In the end, the octopus still ended up benefiting Chen Zhiyao.

The tide had receded to the very back; if we didn't get there soon, all the good stuff would be gone.

Chen Zhiyao quickly picked up the bucket and walked briskly towards the sea. She had only gone halfway when she came across a small patch of golden snails.

Luckily, she brought a small net with her today and used it to scoop up all the snails along with the sand.

The sea was not far away. After the net was shaken in the sea a few times and all the sand was washed away, a handful of golden snails the size of a finger were obtained.

There weren't many golden snails in this area; even after harvesting them all, it only weighed four or five pounds.

The deeper they went into the ocean, the more gifts nature provided, and Chen Zhiyao happily picked up all sorts of seafood.

As she walked, Chen Zhiyao suddenly noticed a huge sea fish to her left.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a sea bass weighing three or four pounds, but the fish was already dead, and its body had stiffened.

She picked it up and smelled it. Luckily, there was no strange smell. She could take it home to feed the chickens or the dogs.

For some reason, there were a lot of dead fish on the beach today. In just a few minutes, she had collected half a netful of fish.

Among them was a three-pound bluefin wrasse, but unfortunately, it had already been half-eaten by other marine life and had started to smell bad.

Seeing that there were more and more fish inside, Chen Zhiyao planned to take them to the pond to bait the area the next day.

I haven't used the water pump I bought from the system for a long time, so I can go to the water pit at the reef island to pump it out.

As dusk settled, many people had already brought out various delicious seafood to prepare for their home dinner.

Chen Zhiyao continued walking along the coastline and happened to run into Liang Yue, who was preparing to go home.

Liang Yue married into Baisha Village half a year ago. She had met Chen Zhiyao at the convenience store before, and they had been in contact on WeChat ever since.

However, she was often at sea, so the two didn't see each other very often.

All the young people in the village had gone out to work, so when Chen Zhiyao finally saw a young lady of similar age, she walked over to her with great enthusiasm.

"Yueyue, how was your harvest today?"

"The catch is alright, two big crabs and a few pounds of sea snails." Chen Zhiyao glanced down and saw Liang Yue's catch in the bucket:

"Hey, you're in luck! These two crabs are quite big."

Liang Yue laughed and said, "You're not bad either, you have quite a lot of different kinds of sea snails and shellfish."

Soon, the two were chatting on the beach, oblivious to everyone else around them.

Get some rest, everyone. There will be two more chapters tomorrow (?????).
