Chapter 84 The Grandson Returns

puff!

Mingjing couldn't help but laugh out loud. Ming Dashan was so old, yet they really weren't picky.

"Sister, what are you laughing at?" Mingyue asked, puzzled. She continued, "Second Uncle said he was just giving Old Zhao advice, saying that the method would catch more fish, and that if they were caught, they would split the catch 50/50."

They didn't actually use electricity to fish.

"As a result, he was arrested by the police station and lost everything, including interest. My second uncle even cursed Old Zhao as a bastard and a traitor. Zhao Dali and the Ming family were all injured."

Ming Dahai smoked even harder, muttering to himself, "It's good that you're back, it's good that you're back."

That was, after all, his own brother. Blood is thicker than water, and no matter how much he hated him, he wouldn't want anything to happen to him.

Sun Yang felt smug, thinking that he had suffered no less than Ming Dashan back then, so he deserved it.

"Alright, we're all family, Mingyue, don't go around spreading rumors."

Mingyue nodded, shut her mouth, and assured Mingjing with her eyes that she would not say a word about what happened that day.

Dishes kept coming out of the kitchen one after another, and Mingjing's points kept accumulating.

"Mingyue, go and see if your sister-in-law has arrived yet?" Sun Yunmei looked at the time and it was almost noon. She was starting to get worried if she didn't come soon.

Mingyue had just run out when she turned around and said, "Mom, my sister-in-law is here."

A group of people stood at the door, and Liu Feng carried her luggage bag and led a six or seven-year-old child into the house.

"They came back empty-handed, how shameless of them," Mingliang muttered.

When Ming Dahai saw his grandson, he grinned from ear to ear, went up and picked up his grandson Leilei, kissing him, "My dear grandson, you've grown so much!"

"You've lost weight. Do you miss your grandparents? They look exactly like Mingguang when he was little."

Leilei nodded, his voice sweet and obedient, "I miss them. I miss my grandpa and grandma every day."

As soon as he finished speaking, tears streamed down the faces of the elderly couple.

"Dad, Mom, no, Uncle and Aunt, I'm sorry," Liu Feng said, bowing deeply to everyone at the door.

"Now you know you're sorry? You left without even saying goodbye, making us feel like we bullied you," Mingliang replied irritably.

"Alright, stop talking. Since you're back, let's have lunch together." Ming Dahai sat down at the table with his grandson in his arms, wiping away his tears.

Liu Feng glanced at Sun Yang, said nothing, and awkwardly took her seat.

"Give me your luggage," Mingjing said, placing the luggage inside the house.

Liu Feng was surprised by Mingjing's change; the girl wasn't like this when she left.

“Auntie is really beautiful,” Ming Lei said, staring at Ming Jing with a cute smile.

"Uncle, let me take him. This child is usually naughty, I don't want him to hurt you," Liu Feng said, reaching out to hug the child.

Ming Dahai turned around and hugged her even tighter, waving his hand, "No need, I haven't seen her in so long, I just want to see her."

"Why is this child so thin?" Sun Yunmei touched her grandson's arm, which was as thin as a stick, and tears streamed down her face again.

Mingjing looked at Minglei, who was clearly six years old, thin and small, and a head shorter than other children his age, with only his big, beautiful eyes.

He looks like a smart kid.

"Grandpa, my mom said I'll be living here from now on. I'm going to go beachcombing with my dad. Where's my dad?" Minglei asked, his little head bobbing from side to side.

One sentence from him brought tears streaming down the elderly couple's faces like beads from a broken string.

"Feng'er, are you serious?" Sun Yunmei never dared to dream that she would have this day.

Liu Feng nodded weakly. Before she could speak, Ming Lei broke free from Ming Dahai's embrace and walked straight into the inner room.

After Mingguang passed away, his portrait was put away by Sun Yunmei and placed in a drawer in the inner room. Minglei ran to the inner room and took out his father's photo to look at it.

"Dad, I want to be a son of the sea like you. From now on, my name will be Minglei."

After he finished speaking, he put the portrait back in the drawer, sat back down obediently in his chair, and turned to say, "Mom, I want to change the name back."

Mingjing felt that this child was more mature than the average child and less childish.

“Change it. My dear grandson wants to be recognized as a member of the family, so it has to be changed.” Ming Dahai didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, but he gritted his teeth and took a sip of wine.

"Auntie, when are we going to go beachcombing? I want to catch a big fish," Minglei asked anxiously.

"Big fish can eat people, especially children. Aren't you afraid?"

"Really?" Ming Lei frowned, then stood on the stool, pulled down his pants, and said, "I'm not afraid, I can give it my little penis."

After he finished speaking, everyone laughed, which immediately eased the somber atmosphere considerably.

Mingjing blushed, feeling somewhat embarrassed, and smiled along.

Everyone was laughing at Minglei's cuteness, but only Mingjing noticed Liu Feng's sorrowful expression.

In the original owner's memory, Liu Feng was not a woman who looked down on the poor and loved the rich. She just wanted a peaceful and ordinary life, but life was always unsatisfactory.

“Don’t always think about being an islander. You have to study and go to school so that you can grow up to be successful and come back to build our island,” Mingjing poked his forehead.

"Third Aunt, I don't want to go to school. Knowledge doesn't go into my brain, and there's nothing I can do about it. Luckily, catching fish doesn't require any brainpower."

Mingjing rubbed Minglei's head and laughed, "How can that be? Don't learn from your second uncle. Look at him, he hasn't made a name for himself in catching fish, and he still can't find a wife."

Mingliang playfully scolded, "How did talking about the child bring me into this?"

“Auntie, Leilei is smart, he’s just been influenced by my husband. He’s not a stupid child,” Liu Feng said, looking embarrassed.

She had no choice. She had initially thought that marrying a teacher would ensure her livelihood and her child's education, but she never expected that her husband would be so uninterested in teaching their child.

She often hit the child, and she couldn't take it anymore, so she came to Ming Dahai for help.

"A teacher? With such a narrow mind, does he even deserve to be a teacher?" Sun Yunmei said irritably as she served the dishes.

The atmosphere was awkward. Mingjing took out wine and drinks and placed them on the table, inviting everyone to start eating.

"Uncle and Aunt, I want to leave Minglei with you. I'm pregnant now and really can't take care of him. Don't worry, I'll come back often and I'll pay child support."

Liu Feng couldn't hold back her tears.

Upon hearing this, the Ming couple were overjoyed, while Mingjing looked at Liu Feng with a sorrowful expression, knowing that this departure might be the last time they saw each other.

When a woman remarries and has another child, the first child often becomes a burden. They say they will come back and send child support, but Liu Feng's situation is really difficult.

Although Minglei was young, he knew what was going on. His two big, grape-like eyes were watery, and he clung to his mother, refusing to let go.

"We won't insist on child support or anything like that. It's difficult for you too. This is our own grandson, and we can't mistreat him. Just live your life in peace. Mingguang is gone, and you can't protect him forever. Everyone has to live their own life."

As a woman, Sun Yunmei understood Liu Feng's difficulties and did not blame her.
