"Go to hell! Stay home and behave yourself. If you dare to run away, I'll break your legs!"
Ming Dahai stared intently at Mingliang.
This kid is wild; I'm really afraid he'll be led astray by Ming Dashan and run away from Xianlin Town and never come back.
"Mingyue, come with me, I'll show you the world!" Mingjing deliberately shouted.
Mingyue's eyes lit up when she heard there was a chance to go to the city.
"Really? I'm going to take a shower and change my clothes." Mingyue quickly got up and went back to her room to find her best clothes.
After finishing his porridge, Mingjing said, "Dad, Uncle Huang is here. You guys help me load the goods. I'm going to take a shower and take a nap. I'm so sleepy. Remember to wake me up when you leave."
The sea breeze was salty and damp. She had been handling shrimp all night, and her body smelled fishy and foul. Now she was so sleepy that she could barely keep her eyes open.
Mingjing went to the bathroom to take a shower and then went to sleep. Mingdahai finished his meal and took the two cypress dragons to Huang Daguang's place.
Huang Daguang was an islander, but a bachelor. He usually lived in a tile-roofed house on the west side of the island. When he learned that Mingjing was going to the city, he readily agreed to accept the two fir dragons.
On the way, Huang Daguang was shocked to hear that Mingjing had caught a lobster and a blue shrimp.
"Brother Dahai, you're going to strike it rich! Blue shrimp aren't cheap."
Ming Dahai waved his hand with a smile, "Hey, I don't know how much it will sell for yet, let's see."
“Your Mingjing is really capable. I never realized she was so talented before. She’s like a completely different person in just a few days.”
“My daughter has always been capable,” Ming Dahai said solemnly.
Huang Daguang smiled and nodded, then drove Ming Dahai home.
The courtyard was filled with fir dragons, which almost made Huang Daguang's jaw drop.
"Good heavens, you guys destroyed the Dragon Palace? So much of it?"
"Brother Da Guang, have you eaten? I still have some plain porridge left, and I also made some meat-filled pancakes. If you don't mind, eat them and then we can continue working."
Sun Yunmei served a bowl of white porridge and then brought out a basket of flatbread.
"Thank you, sister-in-law." Huang Daguang swallowed hard, the aroma of the meat pie wafting into his nose.
As Huang Daguang ate, Ming Dahai glanced down at the shrimp baskets around him, then casually picked up two lobsters and put them in the empty basket.
“Dahai, don’t put any more. I’ve saved enough for my brother. Take these fir dragons to sell.” Sun Yunmei took the fir dragons out of the basket again.
Ming Dahai sighed, "You're only leaving two cypress dragons for our eldest brother? We weren't well-off before, and our eldest brother helped us a lot. He was having a hard time back then too. We're all family, why are you being so calculating?"
"My older brother is stubborn and cares a lot about his reputation. If I take too much, he will inevitably feel that I am helping him out. Besides, we should not flaunt our wealth. Even the best relationship will be strained because of money."
"Just like before, that's fine. This pine dragon isn't small either, don't worry. I'll buy my brother plenty of meat and vegetables; that's better than anything else."
Sun Yang has a strong sense of pride; if he knew that these were all intentional acts of charity, he would not accept them.
"Have you eaten yet? Sit down and have some more," Sun Yunmei said, sitting down to serve Ming Dahai rice.
"I'm not eating anymore." Ming Dahai turned around to load the goods onto the truck. Huang Daguang felt embarrassed to stay sitting there any longer, so he got up to help with his mouth full of meat pies.
"Brother Dahai, where did you find so many cypress dragons? I'll go try my luck today," Huang Daguang joked, his tone tinged with a hint of sarcasm.
"Beachside." Ming Dahai thought to himself that once the car left, he would get a good night's sleep and then go back to see if there were any more blue shrimp and pine dragons.
After loading the goods into the car, Mingyue went to wake up the sleeping Mingjing.
Yesterday's exertion was too much for Mingjing to recover, and he was pulled into the car in a daze by Mingjing.
Huang Daguang's car is a blue pickup truck with two seats in the front. Since the roads are long, he specially put a bed in the back seat for convenience at night.
"Mingjing, you can sleep in the back." Huang Daguang tidied up the back seat, and Mingjing got into the car in a daze.
Mingyue turned and covered Mingjing with the blanket, her eyes filled with envy.
Even when asleep, a beautiful woman is still stunning; her perfect appearance makes it hard not to take a second look.
"Mingyue, do you know which seafood restaurant your sister is going to?" Huang Daguang started the car.
"I know, I went there last time. You can drive."
Huang Daguang nodded and started the car.
"Mingyue, remember to take this cake and a pot of water with you on the road. It's too expensive in the city, don't waste money." Ming Dahai stuffed a stack of cakes and a pot of water into the car.
"knew."
The car started, and Mingyue asked Huang Daguang to drive it to the town near the dock.
An hour later, the car stopped in front of the seafood restaurant.
Mingyue pushed open the car door, got out, and ran to the roadside to vomit violently.
She hadn't ridden in a car much before, and she didn't expect to get carsick so badly.
"Sister, we're here!" Mingyue patted the car door with a livid face. Mingjing turned over in a daze and barely opened her eyes after Mingyue called out a few times.
"Here I am," she said, sitting up, patting her cheeks, and getting out of the car.
Huang Daguang was unloading goods at the entrance when Mingjing got out of the car, yawned, and walked into the restaurant.
"boss!"
Dong Li came out of the kitchen and greeted him with a smile.
"Mingjing, right? Where's Shanlong?"
"Look, here it is, still alive," Mingjing said, pointing to the shrimp basket by the door, while continuing to yawn.
Dong Li stepped forward and examined it carefully. "Hmm, not bad, it's genuine, and it's quite big. Young lady, does your family run a livestock farm?"
He called for someone to bring over a scale and place it at the door.
Mingjing shook her head and smiled, "No, I was just lucky."
Dong Li weighed the sorghum, scribbling in his notebook, "It weighs a total of 85.2 jin."
After saying that, he had someone pour the pine needles into a plastic basin and weigh the wooden bucket. "Ten catties and five taels! The total is seventy-four catties and four taels, and one catty is one hundred and ten."
"Wait for me, I'll go inside and get the money."
Dong Li put the notebook in his pocket and turned to go inside to get the money.
Mingjing retrieved the empty bucket, thinking to herself that Dong Li was honest enough, and she could consider selling here again next time.
"Mingjing, there are 8,184 in total. Count them," Dong Li said, handing Mingjing a wad of banknotes.
"Okay." Mingjing took the money, counted it carefully, and after confirming that it was correct, put it in her pocket and turned to leave.
Dong Lini glanced at the three of them and immediately said, "Mingjing, would you like to stay for dinner? It's on me. You have no idea how much you helped me today."
Dong Li told Mingjing about the foreigners booking his restaurant. "These foreigners said they wanted to do wholesale business in Xianlin Town, so they booked my restaurant."
"If it weren't for you, Sugiryo, I'd be really worried to death."
Mingjing was shocked. In the 1990s, the street vendor economy was developing along the coast. Could it be that foreigners came to Xianlin Town to invest in Xianlin Town and set up joint venture factories?
If that's the case, wouldn't it be like waiting to pick up money?
