Chapter 115 Mermaid

Lin Hu feigned surprise and asked Old Man Er Ye, "I've never seen this old gentleman before. Is he your brother?"

The two old men, Yi Ye and Er Ye, suddenly seemed to have been struck by acupuncture points, their movements halting for a third of the time, and even their breathing stopped.

Finally, the two looked at each other and rolled their eyes in disgust.

"Who's his brother?" Old Man Yiye was short-tempered, and he immediately started cursing at Old Man Erye, wishing he could punch him.

"I'm afraid you're my brother!" Old Man Erye rolled his eyes again, not holding back his words.

Lin Hu didn't understand why the old men disliked each other, and fearing that if they continued talking, the two of them might actually start fighting, he quickly interrupted, "Let's eat first, otherwise it will get cold."

The group then sat down and began to eat. Finally, Lin Hu spoke up, asking, "Do you two gentlemen know what the situation is like outside right now?"

Old Man Futaba put down his chopsticks, wiped his mouth with a napkin on the table, and then said, "I know, it's a mermaid."

Mermaids?!

There are mermaids?!

What does this have to do with mermaids?!

Lin Hu had seen mermaids in cartoons when he was a child. They were half-human and half-fish marine creatures. The thought of possibly seeing one in real life filled Lin Hu with a strange excitement.

I wonder if tears can turn into pearls? Are they all beautiful? Can a singing voice kill?

"What does this have to do with mermaids?" Lin Hu asked.

It proceeded naturally, like a casual chat that suddenly started during a meal.

Old Man Erye was about to begin telling a story, looking completely at ease.

Legend has it that in the bottom of the Western Sea, there lived a kingdom of mermaids who were beautiful and elegant.

Their king was so beautiful that it was hard to tell if he was male or female. He ruled their country with great order and prosperity.

But one day, another kind of mermaid suddenly split off from the group. They called them black mermaids, while they were white mermaids.

The songs of black merfolk can cause riots among marine life, who will sing involuntarily.

So, in a difficult choice, the Mermaid King deprived the black mermaids of their singing voices, but did not abandon them; he also deprived himself of his own singing voice.

However, singing cannot be a mermaid's weapon. Without singing, a mermaid king cannot control and lead his people to develop, cannot protect his people, and cannot gain the recognition of other mermaids.

He was soon overthrown by his people who had once revered him. They rejected the new mermaid king, and the former mermaid king disappeared at the coronation ceremony of the new mermaid king.

The ocean returned to its former tranquility, and the former Mermaid King disappeared. At first, some mermaids would still mention him, but as time went on, they gradually forgot about their former Mermaid King.

After Old Man Erye finished speaking, he looked at Lin Hu and asked, "Is there anything to drink? My throat is a little dry."

Lin Hu was listening intently and forgot to pour water for the person. He immediately got up and went inside to get some water: "Yes, yes."

Lin Hu knew, of course, that what Old Man Erye meant to drink was not water, but something like juice.

Thinking about how I just ate crayfish, which was spicy and oily, it's perfect to have some fruit tea to cleanse my palate.

Fortunately, the fruit tea machine had plenty of options, and Lin Hu quickly brought out a plate of room-temperature fruit tea, with a variety of flavors for them to choose from.

Everyone picked out their favorite juices, and Lin Hu also took a glass of grape jelly to drink. It wasn't iced and was at room temperature, so it wasn't really to his liking.

Duan Linzhou put down the orange juice he had just drunk, turned to look at the old man Er Ye sitting next to him, and asked, "So, the black merman has appeared again?"

Old Man Erye nodded.

Lin Hu had a guess and asked, "Could it be the former Mermaid King?"

Both Old Man Yiye and Old Man Erye looked at Lin Hu at the same time. After a two-second standoff, Old Man Yiye spoke first.

"I have a potion that can attract black merfolk. Why don't you try it?" the old man said, taking a small white porcelain bottle out of his wide green sleeve and placing it on the table, then pushing it towards Lin Hu.

Lin Hu looked at the white porcelain bottle in front of him, which meant he was to be the target.

"Okay, how do I do it?" Lin Hu reached for the bottle of medicine and asked indifferently.

Anyway, he can fly, and he should find something for Yan to practice on. He can't keep sparring with his pebbles all the time, can he?

Duan Linzhou suddenly reached out and grabbed Lin Hu's hand, "Call me if you need anything, I'll be right behind you watching."

Lin Hu smiled and nodded at Duan Linzhou.

Duan Linzhou didn't stop Lin Hu from doing so. He always knew that Lin Hu didn't need his protection; he just needed to become stronger. To become stronger, he needed to use his special abilities more, spar with opponents more often, and accumulate combat experience.

"Do black merfolk have any weaknesses?" Lin Hu asked the old man Er Ye, the information merchant.

"Yes, their eyes are very afraid of light, so they often cover their eyes. This is also a distinguishing feature of black fish. White fish have eyes that are the color of the sea under sunlight, while black fish are the opposite; their eyes are as deep as the sea in front of them."

As the old man Erye spoke, he looked at the dark sea around him. The mutated beasts around him had been lying still because they couldn't get in, but they hadn't left either.

It's completely dark now, and I can't see anything in the sea. But when I look at the sea, it seems like a giant whirlpool, giving me a seductive illusion.

Lin Hu stood by the raft, looking down into the deep sea, and it took him a long time to come back to his senses.

Duan Linzhou walked over and, seemingly oblivious to everyone else, put his arm around Lin Hu's waist. "Shall we go now?"

"Okay, let's finish this quickly so we can get some rest." Lin Hu said, glancing at the other four people. He didn't break free from Duan Linzhou's embrace. Anyway, it wasn't the first time he'd been caught in a social situation, so he was somewhat immune to it.

The two adults and two children who had been silently watching at the dinner table noticed Lin Hu looking at them and made some awkward, feigned movements.

Ao Jinjin couldn't understand human emotions, but she still felt inexplicably guilty, so she took the glass of strawberry juice inside and went to watch TV.

Ling Jiuqi didn't leave; she was still peeling the few remaining lobsters on the plate on the table.

She shifted her feet, grateful that she still had her five senses.

Human food is indeed delicious!

"Then I'll be going now, I haven't washed the clothes at home yet." Old Man Erye lied and quickly walked to the raft, pulled out a small boat from somewhere, stood on it, and left at lightning speed.

"Me too, this medicine is for you too." Old Man Yi Ye placed a white porcelain bottle, the same as before, on the table and said, then left in the same manner as Old Man Er Ye.

Lin Hu is now certain that Old Man Yiye is a potion merchant.

We already have one leaf, two leaves, and four leaves, so shouldn't we also have a three-leaf leaf?

"What are you thinking about?" Duan Linzhou had already released Lin Hu, and reached out to pick up a strand of Lin Hu's long hair. The hair was shiny and soft, red, and seemed to glow under the light.
