No wonder Wenxi always weaves blackout bags, and she was already weaving them when they first met, back when they were children.
Today, also in Ouxi Bay, she saw that the black merman with big waves had a cloth covering his eyes that she recognized. Only then did she realize that Wenxi had known since she was a black merman.
Faced with Belle's words, Wenxi lowered her head, unable to answer. She had indeed lied to her, but she couldn't help it.
"sorry."
Winsie's apology only made Belle angrier. Afraid of attracting other mermaids, Belle gripped the iron bars with both hands and questioned Winsie in a low voice, "So why did you approach me?"
Now that things have come to this, Wen Xi no longer hides her feelings and replies calmly, "Why else could it be? Because I need a playmate who can cover for me. You're ordinary enough that you won't easily attract attention."
Belle was surprised by this reason; it was quite ordinary indeed.
Belle let go of his hand dejectedly, turned around somewhat listlessly, and was about to leave when she still wanted to put an end to this friendship.
Although the other person may not have considered her a friend, she genuinely regarded him as a friend and was earnestly maintaining the relationship.
"Whether you consider me a friend or not, I still hope you can leave this place."
As Belle spoke, she turned to leave, but at the door she heard the sound of a merman approaching.
She had sneaked in, and immediately shrank into the darkness to hide. She saw several people go in, drag Wen Xi out, and take her away.
As Winsy struggled, Belle saw that Winsy's eyes were now just two blood-red, black holes.
Winnie's eyes have been gouged out!
No wonder Wen Xi didn't look up at her once while she was talking.
Upon having this idea, Belle couldn't resist and secretly followed behind the escorting team.
She felt like she was being incredibly foolish; even though the other person didn't seem to care about her, she was still going out of her way to worry about them.
In the Mermaid King's palace, Belle secretly hid behind a huge, beautiful coral.
Wenxi was thrown into the empty hall by two merman guards, one on each side of her. On the towering throne, the Merman King waved for the two merman guards to leave.
Wenxi braced herself against the ground, trying to get up. The two merman guards hadn't even paused when they let go, and she hadn't noticed at all. Her arm was throbbing from the fall.
"Do you know why we brought you back?" The Mermaid King's voice came from above. Wenxi determined the other party's location. At this time, her eyes were covered with a strip of cloth, probably because the two guards were afraid that she would disturb the Mermaid King in this state.
Looking down at Wenxi, who was in such a predicament but still looked resolute, the Mermaid King thought of someone else, and the joy he felt from capturing Wenxi vanished instantly.
Wenxi, of course, couldn't see the disgust in the Mermaid King's eyes. She curled a provocative smile at the corner of her mouth and said sarcastically, "You seem quite at ease in this position."
"Of course I feel at ease, after all, I am loved and respected by my people, and weren't you once one of them?" The Mermaid King's voice came again, full of pride, and he didn't forget to remind Wen Xi of his previous attitude towards him.
Yes, if she hadn't later learned his true colors, she would still be worshipping him and respecting him as a qualified ruler.
“Theo, you know better than anyone how this position came about.” Wenxi looked up, his eyes, which were already empty and even covered by a white cloth, seemed to still be able to see through the darkness behind the ruler’s throne above.
Theo suddenly flew into a rage, flicked his tail, and created a powerful wave that flipped Winsey into the air, spinning her several times before she landed heavily on the ground.
Wen Xi coughed up a mouthful of blood, staining the polished floor in front of him red.
"Pushir is your mother, isn't she? Your eyes look very alike." Theo's voice rang out again, though it was a question, it was spoken with certainty.
Wen Xi visibly froze.
This pleased Theo, who laughed even more wildly, "Do you think she'll come to save you after she receives your eyes?"
The answer is yes, so Theo has already sent Winsey's eyes over.
He felt happy just thinking that someone would be in a bad mood because of him tomorrow or tonight.
Winsie heard Theo's undisguised mockery, but she ignored it and wanted to run away and tell them not to come.
But where could a blind woman like her go? She thrashed about with her fishtail, then bumped into something and felt her head starting to spin.
She felt that if she died like that, they wouldn't have to come.
Given Theo's character, he might lie to them, saying she was still alive, to lure them over and then capture them all.
Her consciousness gradually faded, and she fainted.
Belle, hiding in the shadows, covered her mouth, afraid to make a sound. She had never seen a king like this before, and considering what the two had just said, she dared not imagine what would happen to her if she were discovered.
Winsie was carried back by Theo's men, and Belle only dared to sneak away after Theo left.
She sneaked into the dungeon again. Wenxi had already woken up and was slumped on the ground, lost in thought. She didn't react to the noises around her until Belle called her softly, at which point she responded.
"Why did you come looking for me again?" Wen Xi kept her head down, not wanting the other person to see her miserable state, and her tone was not friendly.
In the past, Belle might have directly confronted her, but what had just happened was still fresh in her mind, and her hands were still trembling as she gripped the railing.
"I heard your conversation with the King just now. What exactly happened?" Belle asked anxiously, while also keeping an eye on her surroundings, afraid that someone would come in and find her.
