Chapter 19: First Meeting with the Main Characters

"What the hell do you mean? I advise you to hand over your stuff obediently, or else..."

As the tall man spoke, he raised his fist and gestured in front of Lin Hu's face.

"Whose father are you?" Lin Hu was too lazy to laugh anymore and asked coldly, his eyes growing colder.

The tall man was also taken aback by that glare, but he was a seasoned hoodlum, and he knew how to put on airs. He quickly regained his composure and continued:

"I'm your old man, you bastard!"

Before the tall man could finish speaking, Lin Hu landed a heavy right hook on the man's left cheek. Just as the man was about to roar, Lin Hu quickly grabbed a steamed bun from the warehouse and stuffed it into the man's open mouth, silencing him.

Immediately afterwards, Lin Hu grabbed the other person by the collar and pulled him to the edge of the rooftop, raising one hand high in the air.

"Who do you think you are, your father?"

As Lin Hu spoke, he threw a cherry bomb downstairs, which exploded within seconds, and a number of zombies quickly gathered downstairs.

"You, you are my father! You are my father!"

The tall man gripped Lin Hu's arm tightly, which was holding him by the collar, and reached down to take the bun out of his mouth. He didn't care about keeping quiet and started crying and screaming. Luckily, he hadn't drunk much water earlier, or he might have wet himself in fear.

He hadn't expected that Lin Hu, who looked so thin, would be so strong.

"Hmph!" Lin Hu threw the person back onto the rooftop, glancing at his hands with a hint of disgust. The other person's clothes looked like they hadn't been washed in ages, and his hands felt waxy to the touch.

"Stop using your pre-apocalyptic saintly rhetoric to morally blackmail me. I have no morals."

After Lin Hu finished speaking, he looked at the bespectacled man who was staring in disbelief.

"Are you still buying? These bomb grenades have been tested; two of them can take down a non-purely aggressive level 5 mutated beast." Lin Hu felt relieved after dealing with the person and was now in the mood to introduce the product to the other party. Although Duan Linzhou's continuous output was the main reason for taking him down, Duan Linzhou had a metal-type ability, which was also a powerful attack ability, so Lin Hu boasted about it without any shame.

"I don't have any level 3 crystal cores. Could you give me some more level 1 crystal cores?" the bespectacled man asked.

“Okay, since you’re our first customer to purchase our pomegranate bombs, we’ll give you a 10% discount. 63 level 1 crystal cores per bomb.” Lin Hu said, then pulled out an orange smoke.

"These are cheaper, do you want to buy one or two as backup?" Lin Hu held up a fist-sized orange in his palm to show it off.

"Is this also a bomb?" the bespectacled man asked in confusion. Lin Hu was waiting for this very question.

"This is called Orange Smoke. To use it, simply throw it near your feet, and it will spread out a circle of smoke with a diameter of 5 meters around the user. Within the smoke, you can completely hide your presence and not be detected by the enemy. It lasts for one minute."

As Lin Hu spoke, he tossed the orange in the air and caught it steadily, revealing a confident smile.

"How many crystal cores is this?" The tall man, who had recovered, asked timidly. He knew he couldn't outright rob him now, so he had no choice but to buy it. He could always buy it on credit, just like before. Whether he got paid or not was up to him once they got back to the raft.

"Huh? You didn't bring any crystal cores with you? Our boss is a miser; he has to hand over all the money after each transaction immediately. If you want to buy, you need crystal cores, right?" Lin Hu didn't believe this man's words, but if the other party could really produce crystal cores, he would be happy to sell one or two.

The tall man shut his mouth sheepishly because of what Lin Hu had just said.

"I'll buy it, I have the crystal core," the bespectacled man immediately shouted.

Upon hearing this, Lin Hu immediately turned his gaze back to the man with glasses.

"Sure, this orange smoke is being sold for the first time, so I'll give you a newbie discount. It's 20 level 1 crystal cores each, and I can sell 10 right now. How many do you want to buy?"

He could actually sell him two hundred, but he couldn't put all his eggs in one basket. He needed to sell to other people, preferably those with influence, so that their demand would be high and the price wouldn't be a loss. The person in front of him was clearly not the long-term partner he wanted. Therefore, Lin Hu quoted a lower price.

"Can I have two oranges and three pomegranates?" He asked, since the other party hadn't specified how many pomegranates he could buy.

"Of course, there are a total of 249 first-level crystal cores."

Lin Hu initiated a face-to-face transaction on the light screen. Face-to-face transactions do not require adding friends and use the system to guarantee authenticity. It also ensures that neither party will encounter situations where they receive goods but have no "money," or receive "money" but have no goods.

"What did you just throw downstairs?" the bespectacled man asked again.

“This… a bomb cherry.” Lin Hu said, pulling a dark red cherry that looked like a cherry from the large pocket of his coat.

"This is a single-target attack, usable against level one and two mutated beasts," Lin Hu explained. Mutated beasts also include zombies.

"How much is this?" the bespectacled man asked again.

“One level-two crystal core is enough; they’ve been sold on the trading market before.”

When the bespectacled man heard Lin Hu say this, he remembered that someone had mentioned this topic in the chat area before he went to the island, but he was too busy at the time and only glanced at it briefly, so he didn't notice it.

"Do you have any more? I want six." The bespectacled man said, and fearing that the other party wouldn't believe he had crystal cores, he confirmed the transaction on the temporary trading interface first.

Lin Hu really didn't expect the other party to have so many level-one crystal cores.

“Okay, a total of 14 level-one crystal cores.” Lin Hu said, initiating another transaction on the temporary trading platform.

After the transaction, Lin Hu was visibly happier and ignored the tall man still sitting weakly on the ground. He planned to go find Duan Linzhou to meet up.
