Chapter 50: Setting up a stall

While Lin Hu was growing watermelons on the island, he suddenly received a message from Duan Linzhou about fifteen watermelons.

[Duan Linzhou: You can put it in your warehouse.]

Duan Linzhou gave one of the cut watermelons and the remaining four to Duan Bohai and the others, and gave the cut watermelon to Wang Fuqing, who was afraid of the heat.

Lin Hu wondered why the other party suddenly sent it to him, but he figured that the other party was probably afraid that it would spoil if left outside.

They put the watermelons in the warehouse and continued planning watermelon cultivation on the land.

After planting the seeds, I discovered that the watermelon would take three days to mature. After three days, the temperature would probably reach 50 degrees Celsius. I only had so many watermelon seeds, which definitely wouldn't be enough.

Lin Hu took some watermelons that Duan Linzhou had just given him from the warehouse. He originally intended to sit down and dig them up, but seeing that there were more than a dozen watermelons, he decided to take them down to find Duan Linzhou instead.

"You're back so soon." Duan Linzhou had just placed the fruit platter on the coffee table when Lin Hu walked in from outside.

Lin Hu moved the teleportation array to his own room, so now he can teleport there every time, which is more convenient.

"Okay, come over here and help me dig out the watermelon seeds." Lin Hu placed the watermelons that Duan Linzhou had just given him on the coffee table one by one and beckoned to Duan Linzhou.

"Can this be planted?" Duan Linzhou asked, as if he knew what Lin Hu was going to do, and then sat on the sofa and began to cut it open.

“Yes, I can grow them on my island.” Lin Hu replied as he went to the kitchen, turned on the ice maker, and took out a basin to fill with watermelon, preparing to juice it all into watermelon smoothies to sell later.

Lin Hu turned on the TV series he had been watching before washing his hands and picking seeds.

The two of them didn't finish picking out their food until 10 o'clock. They hadn't eaten dinner yet. Duan Linzhou thought of Lin Hu's stomach problems, so he quickly tidied up and prepared to cook.

Lin Hu went directly to the island, threw the watermelon rinds to the animals, and planted the watermelon seeds on the land he had just chosen, next to the previous batch of plants.

Lin Hu sat on a large rock, looking up at the sky.

Perhaps because the island was high in the sky, the moon seemed much larger, and the moonlight gilded the island with a silvery white. Lin Hu was wearing short sleeves and shorts, and a gentle breeze blew through his loose clothes as he felt everything around him.

The leaves rustled in the wind, accompanied by the clear and melodious chirping of birds. The two bird eggs they had obtained from the previous adventure quest had hatched, and the chicks were now perched on the branches next to Lin Hu, thanks to his arrival.

Lin Hu sat down until Duan Linzhou called him to eat before leaving.

After having a meal, Lin Hu made watermelon into a smoothie. Considering that the temperature wasn't high at night and the demand for smoothies wasn't high, he put it in the warehouse first.

Finally, she refused Duan Linzhou's request to share a bed, went back to her room, locked the door, and went to sleep.

As soon as the sun rose above the horizon, the two got up early and sent a message to wake up Liu Xu and Sun Xiaoxiao, who were standing next to them and couldn't see them.

For breakfast, I made fried dough sticks, boiled eggs, and shrimp, minced meat, and cabbage porridge.

He usually provides meals for those working in Linhu, so he sent one to Liu Xu and Sun Xiaoxiao as well.

Liu Xu didn't like boiled eggs, but thinking about her previous situation where she wanted to eat them but couldn't, she gradually came to accept it.

After washing up and having breakfast, the group set up their stall at the spot where they had cooked the day before.

A wooden signboard was erected, and Lin Hu pasted several pieces of white paper on it, writing the three large characters "Food Stall" in bold with a marker. Below the characters, he also wrote what kinds of food were available and their corresponding prices.

It's morning now, and everyone is still digging for bamboo shoots. They won't arrive until noon.

The four of them had a morning to prepare. Liu Xu and Sun Xiaoxiao were in charge of washing the vegetables, Duan Linzhou was in charge of chopping, and Lin Hu was in charge of stir-frying.

I bought some paper bowls and disposable chopsticks at the market. Judging from the simple packaging of the disposable chopsticks, I guessed that the shop owner must have found them when he landed on the island during the extreme cold.

Lin Hu was stir-fried in a large wok, and once cooked, it was placed in a stainless steel soup pot on a low table.

Spicy stir-fried snails with Sichuan peppercorns, stir-fried pork with green peppers, dry-pot cauliflower, steamed sea bass chunks, egg drop soup, four dishes and a soup, plus three buckets of rice.

He wasn't worried about wasting any extra supplies; with so many people asking for resources every day, he could recoup his investment by listing them.

The group ordered one portion for lunch, which also served as a tasting.

Lin Hu's arms ached from stir-frying, and after eating, he asked Qiangwei to bring out the rocking chair under the grape trellis for him. He then left the rest to the three of them to handle.

Considering that someone might cause trouble, the task of serving the food was handed over to Liu Xu and Sun Xiaoxiao, while Duan Linzhou stood by and used force to deter them.

Lin Hu lay on the rocking chair. Seeing that it was almost noon, he took out a stainless steel basin, filled it with ice, and placed two cups of watermelon smoothie next to it.

Lin Hu lay back in the rocking chair, holding a glass of watermelon smoothie in his hand.

Duan Linzhou noticed it, but he hadn't seen Lin Hu's stomach problems flare up these past few days. He just reminded him to drink less and didn't say anything more.

People started appearing around. Some of the people who came at the beginning noticed Lin Hu and his group's stall, but because of their attitude towards the group from yesterday, no one dared to approach them.

As more people gathered, a tall, thin man with excellent eyesight noticed the words on the sign and mustered the courage to approach Sun Xiaoxiao, who seemed the most approachable.

"Is it possible to eat here?" The man's voice was hoarse, his face was thin, and his eyes were dark and bluish, making him look somewhat listless.

"Yes, the prices and menu items are all listed there." Sun Xiaoxiao looked at the man with some sympathy, smiled politely, and pointed to the sign above her head.

"I want to order food. You're charging crystal cores, right? I have some, I have crystal cores." After hearing Sun Xiaoxiao's words, the man looked up and saw the words on the screen. He then excitedly began to take crystal cores out of his pocket.

Because I was so hungry, my hands were shaking a little, and my voice trembled slightly as I spoke.

"I'd like a dry-pot cauliflower and a serving of rice." The man took out thirty level-one crystal cores and handed them to Sun Xiaoxiao. However, because there were too many, he couldn't hold them all in his two hands, and a few fell to the ground. The man quickly bent down to pick them up.

Liu Xu took a bamboo tray filled with fruit and held it out to the man.

"Put it here," Liu Xu said with a polite smile and a clear voice.

She was right. If she hadn't met Lin Hu, she wouldn't be like the man in front of her, but she wouldn't be as comfortable as she is now.

She is grateful, so she always goes out of her way to help Lin Hu whenever he asks for his help.

Sun Xiaoxiao was no exception; while serving food to men, she was also thinking about getting repeat customers.

"The rice is worth three level-one crystal cores. If you're not full, you can get more rice by adding one more crystal core."

Upon hearing Sun Xiaoxiao's words, the man's eyes lit up, and he quickly replied, "Okay."

The others around watched the whole thing and, not caring about anything else, rushed to buy it.

Duan Linzhou stepped forward, flames spreading from his palm. He flicked the flames across the stall, drawing a dividing line that blocked the throng of people rushing forward.

"If you want to eat, take your crystal cores and line up. Anyone who dares to cut in line or cause trouble will find their flames not on the ground."
