Chapter 57 Two Merchants

[Zhang Dahai: He's not a gamer; he says he's a businessman.]

[Tang Fang: Why did he give you a weapon?]

[Zhang Dahai: His boat pulled up next to my raft, and he told me he was hungry and asked me to treat him to a meal. So I cooked him a packet of instant noodles, and then he let me pick something out of his raft.]

[Zhu Feng: What do businessmen actually look like?]

[Zhang Dahai: White beard, green clothes, dressed like an ancient person, you can recognize him at a glance.]

Zhu Feng looked at the message sent by Zhang Dahai, feeling conflicted. He was angry but not angry. This old man had approached him before, but Zhu Feng had told him that the man was begging for money and chased him away.

He can't be more regretful now.

[Zhu Yan: Isn't anyone worried about the dragon boat race the system mentioned tonight?]

Amidst a flood of messages asking how to find the white-bearded old man, one message stood out and reminded everyone.

Lin Hu discovered that many people had encountered the white-bearded old man, but those who came out to explain were people who had only exchanged weapons or survival supplies.

There must be news that someone got the dragon boat, but they just didn't say it.

Lin Hu thought he should change the information later. Although the old merchant's weapons were definitely high-level or above, the dragon boat race had rewards, so they couldn't be too bad.

[Ding! Player, please be aware that a merchant is loitering around your raft.]

Um?!

When Lin Huguan went outside, he saw two identical old men with white beards arguing at each other across his raft.

The white-bearded old man on the raft shouted angrily, "How did you get here? This is my trading territory. Go back to your side!"

The white-bearded old man on the small boat on the sea chuckled softly, "You're too slow. I'm here to help, don't be ungrateful."

The old man on the raft said sarcastically, "Of course you're fast, you're just a seller of defective weapons."

The old man with the small boat frowned, not to be outdone: "You're no better than someone who sells fake news!"

Lin Hu: Fake news?! Defective weapons?!

So these two old men are scammers?

The old man on the raft glared and puffed out his beard: "You're talking nonsense! All my information comes from the little fish, unlike you, a junk seller."

The old man on the small boat retorted, his beard bristling and eyes wide: "You're talking nonsense too. My weapons are all rare items, and even if they're damaged, they're still better than high-grade weapons."

Lin Hu breathed a sigh of relief; thankfully, it wasn't all fake.

He went out and stopped the two old men.

"Ahem! Sir, are you here to see me?" Lin Huqing coughed and asked the white-bearded old man on the raft.

"I'm not looking for him, I'm looking for you." Before the old man on the raft could speak, the old man standing on the small boat interrupted him with a chuckle.

"Oh? What do you need me for?" Lin Hu asked the old man on the small boat, feigning ignorance.

"I'm a merchant traveling at sea, and I'm quite hungry. I was just passing by and thought I'd drop in to exchange for something to eat," the old man on the small boat said with a smile.

Although the old man on the small boat looked exactly like the old man on his raft, he gave off a different feeling.

The old man with the small boat had a cheerful and approachable demeanor.

Although the old man on his raft had a kind face, he gave off a somewhat aloof and unsociable vibe.

After a careful look, Lin Hu noticed that the only difference between them was the willow branches they used to tie their hair.

One tree had two willow leaves on its head, while the other had four.

Lin Hu tentatively defines the two old men as the Two-Leaf Old Man and the Four-Leaf Old Man.

Standing on his raft was the Two-Leaf Old Man, who was angry because the Four-Leaf Old Man had interrupted him and was walking down the grape trellis.

"What do you want to exchange it for?" Lin Hu asked, feigning curiosity.

"I have a lot of weapons here. If you treat me to a meal, you can pick any one from here," the old man with four leaves said to Lin Hu, patting his crossbody bag with a touch of mystery.

"What kind of treasures do you have?" Lin Hu asked again.

"Swords, Tang swords, crossbows, bows and arrows, short knives, targets, darts—you name it, I have it all," the old man with four leaves proudly introduced his treasures.

"But the old gentleman just said that the things you bought..." Lin Hu hesitated for a moment before continuing.

"He's talking nonsense. I really have a treasure." Old Man Four Leaves said mysteriously to Lin Hu when he saw the archery target on Lin Hu's raft.

"What treasure?" Lin Hu asked curiously, taking two steps forward.

Old Man Four Leaves reached into his crossbody bag and pulled out a rare longbow.

Lin Hu was astonished; how did this person manage to pull such a large bow out of such a small cloth bag?

He didn't know if the bow was good or not, but the other person's cloth bag looked quite nice.

Lin Hu reached out to try out the bow, but the old man Siye dodged him.

"Hey~, young man, I've shown you all my treasures, won't you invite me up for a seat?" Old Man Four Leaves quickly put the bow back into his satchel. As he spoke to Lin Hu, he also glanced at Old Man Two Leaves under the grape trellis, who had been secretly observing them.

"Of course, please come in." Lin Hu smiled and stepped aside to let the other person pass.

He wasn't worried about anything else about the other party, since this was a merchant certified by the system.

After the old man came up, Lin Hu reached out and touched one of the roses among the thousands of roses beside the raft, making it watch over him. He then prepared some fruit for the two old men and went to the kitchen to cook.

Five dishes and one soup, with meat and vegetables, spicy and mild.

As the dishes were placed on the table, joy gradually spread across the eyes of the two old men.

While eating, Mr. Zhou smelled the aroma and ran downstairs. When he saw two old men who looked exactly alike, he looked at them with a puzzled expression, glancing left and right.

The two old men were surprised to find pets on the Linhu raft, but they were only momentarily taken aback before being drawn to the delicious food.

The two old men ate very happily. The old man with four leaves readily gave the bow to Lin Hu and then left by boat.

Lin Hu originally wanted to ask the other party if he should be the one to choose the weapon.

Why was it just shoved over there?

Although his current strength does indeed require a good bow.

But shouldn't he be allowed to choose first, to go through the process?

Lin Hu stared in the direction where the old man Siye had left; he disappeared in just a few seconds.

“I have to go too, you can choose one,” said the old man Erye, who took out several message bottles from his bag. The bottles contained rolled-up parchment.

Judging from the appearance, the message must have been written on parchment.

The cardboard was rolled up, so the words couldn't be seen, and Lin Hu just randomly chose one.

After Lin Hu finished his selection, Old Man Er Ye left in a hurry without saying goodbye.

Lin Hu didn't think much of it, opened the glass bottle, and took out the paper to examine it.

[The midnight bell tolls, the dragon boat race continues, and the treasure appears!]

If he had God's perspective, he would probably know why the two old men ran so fast.

A colossal creature was swimming beneath his raft at that moment.
