Chapter 62 Men Should Not Touch Each Other

Wen Mofei noticed Lin Hu looking at him. Their eyes met, and he stepped forward and asked, "Brother, is anyone here?"

Lin Hu knew that because he had disguised himself, the other party would not recognize him.

He looked at Wen Mofei with a half-smile and said, "Nobody's here."

"Would you mind sharing a table?" Wen Mofei said with a smile, but his movements already indicated that he was about to sit down.

A sly glint flashed in Lin Hu's eyes: "I don't mind."

"Then I won't stand on ceremony." Wen Mofei plopped down on the opposite side of Linhu Lake.

Lin Hu just looked at Wen Mofei with a smile on his face, casually playing with his teacup without putting any tea into his mouth.

Wen Mofei had been secretly observing his surroundings, and he had been aware that Lin Hu was staring at him.

Wen Mofei felt a sense of unease, as if he were being watched.

What is this person looking at?

Could it be that she's fallen for him?

Men shouldn't touch each other!

Wen Mofei felt a sudden panic. He wouldn't have thought of this before, but just now, his brother told him a big piece of gossip about Duan Linzhou and Lin Hu.

He hasn't quite processed what's happening yet. Otherwise, given his boisterous and sociable nature, how could he not come to meet up with Lin Hu after learning that they were on the same "dragon boat"?

It wasn't just because I felt inexplicably guilty after learning about the big scandal; the most important reason was that I had some tasks to complete.

"Brother, is there something on my face?" Wen Mofei asked Lin Hu, suppressing his anger.

"Do I look familiar to you?" Lin Hu didn't answer his question, but instead asked back, resting her chin on her hand.

"Uh... no... ah?" Wen Mofei didn't react for a moment.

"Does it look familiar?" As Lin Hu spoke, the hand supporting his chin lightly touched the wig's seam, revealing the red hair hidden underneath.

Wen Mofei had excellent eyesight and naturally saw it clearly.

He suddenly realized what was happening, his eyes widening in shock. If there hadn't been so many people around, he would have pointed at Lin Hu's nose and started yelling "You, you, you!"

"H?" Wen Mofei asked tentatively.

Lin Hu, confident in his disguise, nodded proudly, giving the other person an approving look.

"I knew his back looked familiar." After Wen Mofei realized it was Lin Hu, he didn't order any tea for himself and poured Lin Hu's tea directly.

"How's the progress?" Lin Hu glanced at the other person's hand holding his teapot and asked casually.

“It’s OK.” Wen Mofei gave an OK sign with his hand, looking smug.

"Hi, would you mind sharing a table?"

The two were still chatting when a voice sounded beside them.

Lin Hu was familiar with that voice.

It is Cheng Yuan.

Lin Hu's mischievous side kicked in again. He looked at Cheng Yuan and couldn't help but reveal a frivolous smile.

Cheng Yuan: Uh... why do I feel a chill down my back?

“I don’t care, you can ask him.” Wen Mofei spoke first, indicating to the other party to observe Lin Hu’s attitude.

Cheng Yuan turned her head and met Lin Hu's eyes, which were filled with joy, as if he were the source of that joy.

However, he felt he had seen those eyes somewhere before.

If I can't remember it right away, I'll stop thinking about it.

"Hey bro, mind sharing a table?" Cheng Yuan asked Lin Hu.

"No problem."

The familiar answer, the familiar tone, the familiar atmosphere.

Wen Mofei could tell that Lin Hu knew this person, and seemed to know what he was up to.

It's the same old trick: wait for the other party to lose their temper first.

"Bro, is there something on my face?"

The familiar answer confirmed Wen Mofei's suspicions: Lin Hu had indeed been playing a trick on him.

"No," Lin Hu replied, taking a new cup and pouring tea.

Cheng Yuan is a straightforward person. He doesn't like being stared at, just like the way his homeroom teacher used to look at him when he was in school. So he said it directly: "Then why are you staring at me?"

Lin Hu resumed his usual demeanor, pushing the freshly poured tea towards the other person: "Oh, I just wanted to ask how your grocery shopping went?"

Cheng Yuan was shocked. Apart from his friends, probably no one would know that he was the owner of the vegetable shop.

Shops will not display player information unless the shop name is directly your own name, or like Lin Hu, you choose a name with the same pronunciation but different characters.

Looking into those familiar peach blossom eyes, Cheng Yuan had a guess in her mind: "Boss?"

"Hmm~" Lin Hu nodded, with a "you finally figured it out" expression on his face.

Cheng Yuan was shocked. Did his boss really look like this?

Did the survival system secretly update its beauty filter function sometime during the game?

That old man overdid it with the photoshopping.

From that man, he went straight to that husband?!

"Don't think nonsense, it's just a disguise." Lin Hu saw that he was thinking in the wrong direction and quickly pulled him back to the right track to prevent him from thinking further absurdly.

"Oh, I knew it! Boss, you must be a handsome and dashing man."

"Alright, keep your voice down," Lin Hu reminded him.

Wen Mofei, who was standing to the side, vaguely remembered that Lin Hu had mentioned him when he heard the other party call him Boss Lin Hu, but he couldn't remember his name for the moment.

"Hello, my name is Wen Mofei, and I'm a friend of Lin Hu." He picked up his teacup and gestured to the other person.

"Hello, hello, my name is Cheng Yuan." Cheng Yuan politely picked up her teacup and clinked it with the other person's.

The two started chatting. Men's friendships often come unexpectedly; it might start with "hello," or it might begin with a misunderstanding.

Lin Hu responded to their conversation in a casual manner, mostly with a smile and a nod.

While enjoying tea, I eavesdropped on the conversations around me.

"Sigh, it started again last night."

"Yes, yes, it's so noisy that people can't sleep for days, it's like ghosts howling."

Lin Hu listened for a while before catching a glimpse of something interesting: it seemed they were still indigenous people, sitting at the table next to him.

Lin Hu turned his head and asked the people at that table, "What happened last night?"

The table was occupied by three middle-aged men dressed in ancient clothing. They all glanced at Lin Hu.

The middle-aged man sitting on the left spoke up: "Outsider?"

Lin Hu didn't hide anything and nodded, "Yes."

The uncle looked worried and said, "About five days ago, people in our town started hearing strange noises at night."

"Yeah, it's like ghosts howling, like the spirits of those who died unjustly, howling every night," the uncle on the right chimed in.

Wen Mofei and Cheng Yuan overheard what was being said and joined in to listen.

"Didn't you investigate what the cause was?" Lin Hu shuddered at the goosebumps that the word "ghost" had triggered in him, and asked the three curiously.

"We checked, but we couldn't find anything. Every time I walk at night, that sound is like it's in my head, keeping me awake." The middle-aged man in the middle also spoke up, looking haggard with dark circles under his eyes.

"When did the sound start?" Lin Hu asked the uncle.

They were all tormented quite a bit, and they remembered the time clearly: "midnight."

Midnight...12 o'clock!

That is, the time period during which the treasure he obtained from the merchant appeared.

I wonder if this sound is related to the treasure?
