Chapter 97 Reencounter with the Qin Family

He didn't care about the future; he only knew that they liked each other now, and that was enough.

Upon hearing this, Duan Linzhou's eyes shone even brighter with love. He walked over, took Lin Hu's hand, and silently expressed his decision.

"Disgusting, two men...it's so disgusting, hahaha..." Qin Yaoyao laughed like a madwoman.

She suddenly took out a small bottle of medicine and drank it just as Lin Hu and Duan Linzhou were about to stop her.

"What are you drinking?!" Duan Linzhou rushed over, conjuring a wind blade in his hand and slashing it, warily shielding Lin Hu behind him.

The bottle was broken, but Qin Yaoyao had already drunk it. Her face was turned to the side by the wind blade.

Her eyes were closed, and when she slowly opened them, her pupils had turned into a color, not obvious, but noticeable.

She had her hair tied in a bun, and even with her head tilted to the side, the two people next to her could clearly see the changes in her eyes.

"What happened to your eyes?" Duan Linzhou grabbed Lin Hu's hand and pulled him behind him.

"I never expected to receive a word of concern from you, especially under such circumstances, haha..." Qin Yaoyao lowered her head and chuckled self-deprecatingly.

Suddenly looking up at the two, his previously ferocious expression froze, as if he had seen something terrifying about them.

"No wonder...no wonder I couldn't peek into your memories back then...monsters...both are monsters...two monsters...hahaha...hehehehehe."

Qin Yaoyao laughed and cried at the same time, saying strange things. The two of them said they thought she had lost her mind, but the sentence she said to Lin Hu, "I can't pry into your memories," was clearly heard by the two of them and stuck in their hearts, becoming a source of confusion.

The color in Qin Yaoyao's eyes gradually dimmed, and even her original dark brown eye color faded, turning gray and white, making her blind.

Qin Yaoyao reached out and touched her face. "So... this is the side effect..."

Only then did she realize that what Qin Fulang had said about the possible slight side effects when he gave her the medicine was true.

However, it's not a mild side effect, but a deadly one.

Her special ability originally required her eyes to use, but now that she's blind, she's practically useless.

Even other superhumans, without their eyes, can only passively endure danger, let alone her.

She didn't know whether to hate the two people in front of her or her father. Everything had been fine before, but now she was being used as a pawn... a discarded pawn...

How sad.

She's become somewhat numb now, whether it's suddenly going blind or suddenly finding out that Duan Linzhou planted the Fire Seed on her.

The flame is already burning; she doesn't have much time left.

Qin Yaoyao couldn't see or feel the tears in her eyes; she only felt their warmth as they streamed down her cheeks.

Like the blazing sun overhead, it couldn't reach the chill rising in her heart.

She braced her hands on the ground and felt the ground vibrate; it was noise coming from inside the building.

Duan Linzhou and the others also realized that this was an office building. One could imagine what the situation would be like if an infected person were mixed in with the crowd inside the building when the apocalypse came.

As the ground tremors drew closer, Lin Hu reached out and put his arm around Duan Linzhou's waist. He glanced at Qin Yaoyao on the ground, then left without hesitation, taking Duan Linzhou with him.

Qin Yaoyao could sense that she was the only one left on the rooftop. She braced herself against the ground, feeling the approaching footsteps and the howls of the zombies.

Her hands, which had been clenched in fear, slowly relaxed, as if her heart had suddenly calmed down, and even the hot wind blowing from the rooftop felt much cooler.

She pushed herself up with her hands and walked to the edge of the building, ignoring the pain of being burned by the flames.

A smile played on her lips; it was the smile she thought was the most beautiful when she took photos in the past.

With a loud "bang!", the zombies smashed open the iron door to the rooftop and rushed out like a flood. Qin Yaoyao was just about to fall down the stairs.

It was as if they were deliberately waiting for the zombies to break down the door, like the sound of a gunshot while running.

Just as a runner goes from the starting line to the finish line, so does she.

This was her final destination.
