Chapter 123: Convincing the Lamb and Returning to the Ruins
eccentric?
Lu Xingchen immediately stopped in his tracks.
The one who said this was a white lamb. There was only a black circle around its two eyes, like panda eyes, which looked a bit funny.
It was soon surrounded by other lambs:
"I've told you so many times, you're just a coward!"
"That's right, we're all going over there to play anyway, so you can just stay here by yourself, humph!"
"That's right, the ruins are the perfect place for hide-and-seek!"
"Humph, we've thought of so many games, and you don't know any of them. You're such a coward, we won't play with you!"
The panda-eyed lamb was anxious: "You can't go either, it's dangerous!"
The other lambs ignored it and ran away happily, heading towards the ruins.
Only the lamb with panda eyes hesitated.
After the lambs left, Lu Xingchen picked up Meimei and walked over, asking, "Little one, what's strange over there in the ruins? Tell me, and I'll give you something delicious."
She took out a strawberry.
Panda Eyes was lost in thought as he watched his companions go away. He turned around and saw Lu Xingchen, his ears shaking with fear: "You, what kind of sheep are you? Why don't you have horns? No, you are not a sheep. Ah, Mom, I want to find Mom!"
It turned and ran, and it ran quite fast.
Fortunately, Lu Xingchen was quite agile and stopped it immediately: "Don't be afraid, come and eat strawberries."
Her strawberries have lured many small animals, including lambs, panda cubs, and Lanlan.
She thought dealing with an ordinary lamb would be a piece of cake, but little did she know that the panda-eyed girl was terribly flustered. After a long while, seeing that Lu Xingchen meant no harm, she said tremblingly, "Waaah, I don't eat strawberries."
Lu Xingchen: ...
The old goat came over, shook his long white beard, and said proudly, "Strawberries can attract more intelligent creatures, but for ordinary creatures, they still prefer to eat what they like. For example, this little guy prefers carrots."
The panda-eyed lamb's eyes lit up: "Yes, I prefer carrots!"
Lu Xingchen was helpless; where was she supposed to find carrots?
So she said softly to the panda-eyed lamb, "Tell me first what's strange about the ruins, and I'll go find you some carrots."
Old Goat: "Hehe, aren't you just lying?"
Lu Xingchen glared at it fiercely.
The lamb had stopped trembling and said firmly, "I want to eat carrots!"
The old goat quickly said to Lu Xingchen, "I know where there are carrots. I'll take you to find them, as long as you heal my wounds."
Lu Xingchen looked at it coldly: "Speak, where is it?"
The old goat lifted its foot to leave, saying, "Come with me."
Lu Xingchen remained motionless and said calmly, "Tell me first, how long will it take to get there, and is there any danger?"
The old goat twitched his beard and rolled his eyes: "It's not far, it won't take long, and there's no danger there."
Lu Xingchen sneered.
She was certain the old goat was lying; its slurred manner suggested it would take a long time to find carrots, and there must be wild animals guarding the area.
The old goat clearly wanted to eat carrots, so he wanted to take advantage of her.
She did want carrots, since she didn't have any in her garden yet.
However, her top priority now is to help the lamb find a way to survive, and she can only stay on the island for 15 hours, so she must complete this task first.
Seeing that Lu Xingchen didn't move, the old goat became anxious: "Let's go, let's go quickly, it will be dark soon."
