Chapter 50 Catching Pheasants and Rabbits (1/2)

Chapter 50 Catching Pheasants and Rabbits

She took out her own catching net and did it as soon as she thought of it.

This trap is specifically designed to catch birds, and it would be a waste of time to use it to catch hens.

She laid out the net, sprinkled some corn kernels on it, and hid behind it, holding the rope connecting the net.

In fact, when I was a child, I used similar methods to catch chickens and sparrows, but her catching net was bigger and more convenient.

Those hens probably had never seen people before, so they were not afraid at all and were scratching the ground with their claws.

One of them walked and stopped, eventually landing on Lu Xingchen's trap. She lowered her head and ate a few kernels of corn, then looked up and clucked a few times.

Lu Xingchen continued to wait. Her trap also had a bait function. It would be a waste to catch one chicken at a time with such a big net.

After a few minutes, two more chickens came over and got caught in the net.

Right now, Lu Xingchen pulled the rope hard, and the big net fell, trapping the two hens that were slowly eating corn inside. Only the one on the edge escaped.

"Cluck, cluck, cluck!" The hen then realized that something was wrong and stretched her neck to struggle desperately.

"Hey, don't scream, no one will save you even if you scream your throat out!" Lu Xingchen was very happy and rarely showed his lively personality.

"Cluck, cluck, cluck!" The two hens panicked even more.

Lu Xingchen took out a rope and tied it to one of the hens' feet, then put away the net.

The two hens were terrified. They kept clucking and flapping their wings, trying desperately to run away.

Lu Xingchen frowned. They were too noisy. Besides, they had lost several feathers because of the noise. It would probably take many days to take care of them after they got home. Wouldn't this delay their egg-laying?

No, we can't use that method!

She opened her storage backpack and her eyes lit up when she saw the large amount of bamboo inside.

Hey, don't we have these materials ready? We can build a bamboo cage.

Lu Xingchen took out a few thin bamboo poles, cut off the cumbersome bamboo leaves, and used the thin bamboo poles to make a rectangular bamboo cage by crisscrossing them.

It was a very simple one, with some cross-shaped parts that she tied with bamboo leaves to secure them.

Finally, a door was left on top.

The bamboo cage is about 70-80 centimeters long, and about 50-60 centimeters high and wide.

Lu Xingchen untied the ropes of the two hens and let them in one by one through the upper door.

After being untied, the two hens were not so excited anymore. They just walked around in the cage, looking confused and anxious.

When Lu Xingchen was weaving the cage, he made sure to make the bamboo at the bottom of the cage very dense, like bamboo boards, in order to prevent the hen's claws from slipping through.

She took out a corn, peeled off two rows of kernels, and put it in the cage.

Soon, the hen quieted down and focused on pecking at the corn.

Done!

Lu Xingchen clapped his hands.

However, the bamboo cage is quite large, and this type of hen is rather small, so it would be a waste to only keep two.

She put the cage under the tree, picked up the catching net, and walked to a nearby place.

Using the same method, she caught two more hens and put them in the cage.

It's not enough to just catch the hen, she also wants to hatch chicks, so she needs a rooster.

Lu Xingchen specially selected a rooster, set up a capture net near it, and finally caught a rooster.

However, the rooster resisted fiercely and even tried to attack with its sharp beak.

Lu Xingchen beat it up.

As for the rooster, it doesn't matter if it gets hurt a little. It doesn't lay eggs anyway, so it probably won't affect its desire to reproduce.

Give it a beating to make it behave itself so it doesn't bully the hens in the cage.
