Chapter 12: Wen En
According to Wen En, he is a registered professional duck herder.
His job was to drive the ducks around to graze and find food, and to make a living by selling duck eggs and low-level duck beasts.
Weiguang Lake has always been a habitat for various birds. This time he came here for two reasons: one is to graze the animals, the other is to give his ducks a chance to breed, and the third is to... just "pick up" some high-priced bird eggs to sell.
Wen En felt a little nervous when he talked about this. It was fine before when there was no owner, so he just picked it up. But this time he was caught by the owner, and his behavior could be defined as theft. If the federation knew about it, his career would be over.
Josh didn't understand what Wen En meant. She didn't know much about federal law. "Picking up bird eggs? Can you teach me? I don't know how to identify these things. I also want to pick them up and sell them."
Qiao Xi was quite happy as he had another way to make money.
"You don't blame me?" Wen En was a little surprised.
"Why should I blame you? What should I blame you for..." Qiao Xi didn't react at first, but suddenly remembered that she was already the farmer, and Wen En was grazing here without telling her. Picking up bird eggs from the owner's land without permission seemed to be regarded as theft, which was intolerable to other farmers.
However, after thinking about it, Josh waved her hand. She had not yet completed the transformation of the farm, and the Weird Lake still maintained its original ecology, so it was not Wen En's fault.
"It doesn't matter. I just became the owner of this farm recently."
"Oh, I see! Farm requisition, you signed up successfully, right?" Wen En looked excited. He had also signed up, but he didn't have a strong farming beast, so he was eliminated in the first round.
"What about you? How did you sign up successfully?" Wen En couldn't help asking. The little girl looked poorly dressed and had traces of sunburn. It was obvious that she was not a pampered rich girl with good conditions. How could she get this farm?
As he asked, he secretly looked at Josh, comparing their conditions.
"This..." Qiao Xi was about to explain when he saw Wen En's mouth open with a look of horror on his face.
"What a huge monster! Qiao Xi, where should we run?" As he said this, he was about to pull Qiao Xi to run together.
Seeing him making some movements, the big-tailed yak moved its horns, and Wen En was isolated outside by a wall of ice.
He looked at the wall in astonishment, not knowing what to do.
Josh scratched his head and explained to Wen En: "It's okay. This is my house elf, the big-tailed yak. It is very gentle and will not hurt anyone casually."
Big-tailed yak! Wen En had traveled extensively and had heard of this large snow beast, but he never expected to see it for the first time in the south.
"No wonder you were successful in your application. It turns out you have such a powerful house-elf." Wen En's envy was almost overflowing from his eyes.
Qiao Xi shouted to the big-tailed yak, "It's okay, he's not a bad guy, big-tailed yak, melt the ice."
Seeing that Wen En did not make any other moves and did not look like he could hurt Josh, the big-tailed yak melted the ice wall, so that Wen En was no longer isolated by the ice wall.
"That's great, that's amazing, it's really beautiful, Josh." Wen En dreamed of owning such a large monster as a house elf, but unfortunately he only had a group of fat ducks as company.
"Hehe, I also think it's great to have a big-tailed yak. It's very happy." Qiao Xi accepted Wen En's envy. It is indeed great to have a big-tailed yak as a family.
"Haha" Am I not good enough?
The untimely quacking of the harlequin duck ruined Wen En's excitement.
Wen En said unhappily, "Of course it would be nice to have you, if you could eat less."
"Quack! Quack! Quack!" Who ate more? Don't you know that ducks are straightforward? What I ate was gone before I digested it. It wasn't much at all!
As he spoke, he flapped his wings and pounced towards Wen En.
Josh also found it very interesting to watch the two of them fighting.
The fight ended with Wen En pinching the base of the duck's wings and clamping it.
Seeing the fun being watched by Josh, Wen En smiled sheepishly.
"This is my leader duck. You know, low-level monsters are not very smart, so they need a smart one to lead them." For this reason, Wen En waited in the wild for a month before attracting this mandarin duck, which agreed to become his leader duck and follow him to graze.
Unexpectedly, the Mandarin Duck was so unreliable and greedy. As soon as it landed, it would often sneak out to look for food, completely forgetting about the flock of ducks.
"Have you ever thought about changing to a new lead duck?" Josh joked.
"Quack" the Mandarin duck immediately entered fighting state. Although its wings were pinched, it still got into position, as if it wanted to show Wen En how powerful he is if his answer was not what it wanted.
"Change it?" Wen En was a little surprised, then he smiled and said, "I really haven't thought about this. Although the Mandarin Duck is often unreliable, it can always lead the ducks to find the place with the most abundant aquatic plants. It will secretly bring back delicious food to share with me, and will also leave the freshest duck eggs for me. I am actually very grateful to it."
"Quack!" The Mandarin Duck was touched. He didn't expect that it was so important in the owner's mind. Wouldn't it pretend to give the leftover food to him? It was so easy to fool the stupid owner.
After a lot of effort, they met an interesting person. As they chatted, it was evening. Qiao Xi invited Wen En to have dinner with her. There was still half a bucket of fish left, which was just enough for the two of them to have a meal together.
When they arrived at the cabin, Josh set up the grill, and Venn quickly prepared a few fish for Josh to use.
Sprinkle a little salt on the fish, rub it evenly, and then put it on the grill to start grilling.
Take out a few mutant giant lemons, squeeze out the juice, and prepare to make the juice.
Take out a few pieces of sprouted garlic, add a little salt and honey, and then add the leftover chili sauce, and a bowl of sour and spicy dipping sauce is ready.
Wen En tried this method for the first time. Fruits can be added to chili sauce? Will it taste good? He expressed doubt.
But all doubts ended the moment he put it in his mouth. The crispy and fragrant roasted fish skin, dipped in the spicy and sour dipping sauce, was paired with the salty and fragrant fish meat.
The feeling of satisfaction immediately burst out, "It's delicious, Josh, this is really a magical delicacy."
The few small fish were quickly shared by the two of them. Even the Mandarin duck's request to let Wen En have a taste was rejected.
The friendship between the man and the duck was broken again.
But this time, Wen En didn't indulge it anymore: "Duck, you've already eaten a lot of fish from Farmer Qiao Xi, how can you have the nerve to eat more? This is Qiao Xi's treat, you can't eat any more!"
"Quack, quack, quack" The Mandarin Duck was helpless and furious, and tried to overthrow Wen En with twisted logic, but was grabbed by Wen En and stuffed into the duck shed.
