Chapter 81 Eat
You're right, you're really right. Looking at these little chicks, no, little birds, who were eating so hard, Josh felt like laughing.
They actually like to eat things that taste like milk.
As soon as the milk cakes were taken out, they were attracted.
There happened to be a few pieces left unsold, so I saved them for the little birds, and they ate them happily.
I took some time to check the communicator and found that Ticha had replied. He said that if the contract was ready, I could send it to him to take a look. It was a small problem.
That's easy, otherwise Josh would always be afraid of stepping into a trap without knowing it.
Jenna also sent a message saying that they would come to pick up the dried fish fillets themselves tomorrow morning, so Josh didn't have to run around, and asked Josh to send her the address.
Is that good? Josh pointed his finger and quickly sent the location over. It would be even better if he didn’t have to send it. Josh didn’t want to make another trip. It was tiring.
————
The next morning, Josh got up from the bed, stretching and yawning. She had to check on the condition of the fish fillets. At the end of baking yesterday, the temperature in the oven was a little high, and some of the fish fillets were baked too dry and hard. She wanted to see if they were better this morning.
Josh simply had the dried fish fillets for breakfast. He poured a glass of milk and started eating with the dried fish fillets.
It’s quite suitable to eat these early in the morning. It warms your stomach and makes you full without eating much.
After clicking on the communicator, Jenna should be here soon. Josh walked out slowly and told the Brown-headed Vulture that there would be guests soon and asked it not to scare them.
Then I lay on the lounge chair outside the house, basking in the sun and enjoying a sunbath.
It didn't take long before Josh heard a cooing sound coming from afar, like pigeons, without the brown-headed vulture reminding him.
What kind of monster is this pigeon that can carry people to fly? Qiao Xi was a little curious.
When Josh saw their complete appearance, she suddenly realized that they were passenger pigeons!
Its huge size and sturdy body make it really suitable to be used as a means of transportation for these students. It is also quite cute, like an enlarged version of an old hen.
"Boss Josh, here I come!"
Jenna excitedly jumped off the pigeon's back and ran straight to the dried fish fillets hanging in the net bag.
"Wow! Is this the fish fillet you gave me yesterday? It's so big."
Josh smiled awkwardly, “Yesterday, it was made with small fish, and it wasn’t preserved well, so it broke a little.”
"It must be more enjoyable to eat such a large piece!" Jenna raised her head and stared at it blankly, feeling like she was about to drool.
But she quickly turned around and showed her white teeth: "Boss Qiao Xi, is there any discount if I want all of them?"
Since he was an old customer, Qiao Xi didn't care too much and gave him a 20% discount. She would make a profit anyway.
He called the Brown-headed Vulture to ask about the recent situation of the space rifts in the Glimmering Forest, and instructed the Sky Rock Rat to replace the space stone regularly. Qiao Xi felt like he was a hands-off boss, doing nothing, and this was not acceptable.
With great effort, they began to open up the fourth piece of land.
The decision came suddenly, and Josh felt a headache looking at the land overgrown with weeds and thorns.
Even if you have help from your friends, you can't just act recklessly. You have to use your brain.
Qiao Xi had the big-tailed yaks and the digging team dig out a wide isolation zone around the land, and she decided to burn the field.
The problem will be easier to solve if we burn all these bushes, trees, thorns, etc.
Josh spread flammable hay around and asked the brown-headed vulture to carry the unknown motor oil found in the warehouse and throw it into the field.
Then he lit up the dry grass and dead wood around him. The raging fire ignited at once, and the flames instantly swept across the entire land. Fortunately, the location of this piece of land was quite far away from other fields, so Josh didn't have to worry about the flames burning the crops.
However, the raging fire also forced Josh and the elves to retreat. Except for the Brown-headed Vulture which could fly high into the sky and observe the fire from a distance, everyone else could only watch from a distance and could not get close.
The temperature around was raised by several degrees due to the raging fire.
Before burning, Josh asked the brown-headed vultures and the burrowing rats to make some noise in the thorn bushes, driving out all the small animals and monsters, so as not to hurt other small lives by mistake.
However, what you fear will come true. Josh suddenly saw a brown-headed vulture swooping down.
"Zongzong, what are you doing? Don't go!" Qiao Xi's voice was almost broken and his whole body was cold.
Why did the Brown-headed Vulture suddenly fly down? The only bird present could withstand the raging fire, the Big-tailed Yak. When Qiao Xi was about to save it, he saw a burnt hairless bird flapping its wings hard and flying towards them. Its only claw was holding an unknown object.
It was flying with difficulty and was on the verge of falling. The big-tailed yak rushed over and used its ice energy to isolate most of its fire energy, finally allowing it to fly over.
"Zongzong, what did you catch? Don't keep it, fly over here." Qiao Xi couldn't even utter the last few words, and tears flowed out.
He ran desperately towards the direction where the big black bird was flying, trying to catch it.
However, the Brown-headed Vulture did not respond to her. It insisted on putting the thing in its claws down far away before falling from mid-air.
Josh wiped his face with his sleeve, sniffed his nose, turned around and ran over there.
Josh didn't care what it had saved. She just wanted to know what happened to her big black bird.
When he ran over, he saw that all the feathers of the Brown-headed Vulture had been singed by the flames, leaving only some short down feathers, which were burnt black.
Qiao Xi reached out and touched it, and his body was still hot from the fire.
The big-tailed yak used its skills to cover the yak with a thin layer of ice, quickly cooling it down.
Just as Josh was about to click on the universal alarm system on the communicator, he heard the excited voice of Big Head the Jumping Lamb.
"Baa, baa!" Wake up, wake up, the big black bird wakes up!
"Zong-Zong, how do you feel now? Hold on, I will call the police for help right away!" His voice was choked with sobs and tears flowed uncontrollably.
"Coo coo!" I'm fine, Josh, don't worry, I just had my feathers burned, no big deal.
The brown-headed vulture's voice was still strong, and it didn't look like it was seriously injured. Only then did Josh relax.
As soon as he relaxed, his whole body started shaking uncontrollably. "Zongzong, you scared me to death. I thought I would never see you again! What were you doing down there?" Qiao Xi complained while crying.
"Quack~" I saw a few beavers. I am a brown-headed vulture warrior and of course I cannot just stand by and watch them die.
"Who cares about it? The most important thing is you, don't you know?" Qiao Xi hugged the Brown-headed Vulture tightly.
“Quack” Okay Josh, I’m sorry to have made you worry.
Wiping away his tears, Qiao Xi was busy carrying the brown-headed vulture into its nest in the attic, and preparing honey and yak milk for it to supplement its nutrition, completely forgetting about the thing he had saved.
