Chapter 109 Madness and Chaos

Chapter 109 Madness and Chaos

Several players didn't spare the believers at the XC district sacrificial site; they tied them all up, threw them onto a truck, and followed Ding An to the rebel alliance's hideout.

Rong Yi and Wei Yanqing didn't go to the slum, but instead had a late-night snack in a deserted place.

We wiped out the ghosts in two districts and tied up two ghost kings. It would be best if anyone could find them.

But they overestimated the ghost's reaction ability, and no one found them until dawn.

As dawn broke, they drove back to the slum alley. This time, when they got out of the car, many windows were open, and people were gazing at them from the windows, not with a trace of malice, but with gratitude.

A child tried to stick his head out of the window to get a better look, but his parents pulled him back inside.

Rong Yi wondered if all these people had seen what happened in the XC district last night on their phones.

Didn't they say they had to watch the show? They were approached by a ghost the day they turned off the TV.

Then my thoughts got stuck.

Yes, that Ghost King Jin Ning is still locked in a cage by them, and his subordinates have been wiped out. Apart from a group of fanatical believers, who else is standing guard and keeping watch?

"Here."

It was Yan Huaqing's voice, completely different from his sneaky behavior yesterday; his voice was so excited he was almost splitting his legs.

Rong Yi glanced one last time at the windows on the wall, then slipped inside with Wei Yanqing.

"You guys were so cool last night! We all saw the show on our phones," Yan Huaqing said excitedly. "And did you stop the sacrificial ceremony in Baozhai District from airing last night?"

Those familiar starry eyes again.

"I guess so," Rong Yi said. "We captured Jin Ning, the Ghost Lord of this district."

Yan Huaqing was greatly shocked, his mouth involuntarily opening, and after a long while he said, "Arrested? Was it the kind of arrest I was thinking of?"

Wei Yanqing nodded. "That's right, capture them alive."

Yan Huaqing felt a little dizzy, not from fright, but from being too happy.

He steadied himself against the wall, gave the two men a thumbs up, and said, "I knew you guys were good, but I didn't expect you to be this good."

Yan Huaqing almost collapsed when he reached his basement, and immediately slumped down on the sofa.

"We will definitely participate in the experiment together. If we manage to extract any information, we can share it with you." Rong Yi wouldn't give away a third-tier Ghost Lord to this alliance for nothing; they still need to keep the third-tier Ghost Crystal.

Yan Huaqing nodded hurriedly, "Of course, I'll set off as soon as I've recovered."

·

To avoid being discovered by the group of fanatical believers during the day, Yan Huaqing deliberately chose a less crowded route, with Wei Yanqing following behind in his car.

The Rebel Alliance was located in a remote area, or rather, in a small grove of trees, in a small wooden cabin.

The futuristic stronghold in Rong Yi's imagination turned to dust. "You've been living like this?"

Yan Huaqing gave a mysterious smile. "Of course not, come with me."

Upon entering one of the rooms, he first saw a fireplace. He tapped on the door, and the fireplace vibrated. He then moved inside, and a dark passage appeared before him.

"Cool!" Rong Yi exclaimed.

Once inside, they found an elevator and took it down.

The elevator doors opened, revealing a spacious platform. A row of people stood in front of them, and upon seeing them, a lean, middle-aged man at the head strode over.

"Welcome, both of you. I've heard about your situation from Yan Huaqing. First of all, thank you for your willingness to help. This way, please."

Yan Huaqing introduced: "This is Mr. Yuan, the person in charge of the Fengzhou City base."

The middle-aged man extended his hand to Rong Yi, "Yuan Tianyi." He was deeply impressed by Rong Yi. Admittedly, Wei Yanqing's methods were shocking, but he preferred Rong Yi's brutal and satisfying punches.

Yuan Tianyi led the group deeper into the stronghold, which somewhat satisfied Rong Yi's fantasy of a mysterious stronghold, though it wasn't quite as cool as he imagined.

Upon arriving at a room filled with instruments, Yuan Tianyi and his group stopped. "This is a laboratory we built a long time ago, but unfortunately we haven't been able to use it until now. I didn't expect to be able to use it today thanks to you all."

As he spoke, he walked to the side and patted the wall, "We learned that ultra-high voltage current is very effective against ghosts, so we temporarily arranged for cables outside."

A group of researchers entered from outside. "Have the experimental subjects appeared?" someone asked.

They walked to the long steel bed in the laboratory. "This is a temporary setup we made. It can be electrified to form an electric arc network to trap the ghost."

Another person chimed in, "Because of the high-voltage current, we can't use instruments. We can only adjust the current and apply it to the ghost to test the damage."

Seeing their enthusiasm, Rong Yi asked, "Which test subject do you want, Jin Ning or that fat guy?"

The people at the outpost knew they had two demon lords under their command.

“Jin Ning,” Yuan Tianyi decided.

Wei Yanqing released the cage containing the Ghost Lord Jin Ning, and everyone subconsciously took a few steps back.

It really was a ghost. It shrank its body, turning into mist, barely maintaining a human form, and dared not touch the blue-purple arc of light in the cage.

A venomous hatred spread out, and Wei Yanqing flicked his fingers, sending a hair-thin arc of electricity striking it. A shrill scream rang out, sending a chill down the spines of everyone present.

He opened the cage and controlled the female ghost to float out. Rong Yi grabbed Jin Ning Ghost by the neck and pressed her onto the experimental bed. The female ghost tried to struggle, but Rong Yi shook her head and said, "Behave yourself."

Jin Ning Ghost Lord cowered and dared not struggle any longer, but spoke up, "If you capture me, you will anger the higher-ups. They need us to guard each district and ensure that the tribute goes smoothly for them."

Rong Yi tilted his head to look at it, "Is it the Ghost Lord?"

King Jin Ning fell silent.

Rong Yi turned his head and said, "I've changed my mind. I'll use another one for the experiment. I'll keep this one for now."

We all need to do experiments. That short, fat guy is even more disgusting. We'll keep him around to get more information.

Wei Yanqing threw Jin Ning Ghost Lord back into the cage and replaced him with the short, fat man.

No one around them commented during this time, since they hadn't caught the ghost.

Moreover, Rong Yi can directly touch ghosts, and Wei Yanqing's methods are not much less than those of ghosts, so they have no right to object to his strength.

As soon as the short, fat man was thrown out, he immediately shrank back when he saw Rong Yi, but it was no use, and Rong Yi still managed to pull him out.

"I still don't know your name, little dwarf," Rong Yi asked with a kind smile.

"It is the Ghost Lord He Xin of XC District," Yan Huaqing answered quickly.

He Xin Ghost Lord nodded hastily, with a fawning smile, "That's right, I bestow upon you the title He Xin."

The people around them were amazed, seeing a ghost with a fawning expression for the first time.

"Who bestowed it upon you, the Ghost Lord?" Rong Yi asked it casually.

He Xin Ghost Lord began to grin, "I don't know, I was called He Xin when I was conscious."

Rong Yi released his grip on it, and the researcher quickly activated the device on the bed, a deep blue electric current enveloping the entire bed.

He Xin, the Ghost Lord, shifted his form, transforming into a wisp of black mist. "Beautiful lady, I'm merely following orders. My only value is providing some trivial information. How about we cooperate..."

“Who said you only have that little value?” Rong Yi interrupted it.

Wei Yanqing continued, "The third-tier ghost crystal in your body is quite good."
