Chapter 112 Madness and Chaos

Chapter 112 Madness and Chaos

On the highway, Rong Yi held his phone and read the speech of the official spokesperson of Fengzhou City.

"It seems that with two Ghost Kings missing, the ghosts have finally realized what's happening." Rong Yi was quite pleased with this efficiency.

As Wei Yanqing listened to the voice on his phone, he thought about the accommodation problem. "After we get off this highway, we'll rest in Guning City tonight."

Gu Ning City is a small city with a declining population. After the ghost arrived, the daily rituals only made the population even smaller.

When they arrived, the lights in the entire city were dimmer than in Fengzhou.

Fortunately, there are hotels here that are open 24 hours a day. Unlike the night shift workers I saw in Fengzhou, the staff member here is an old man wearing a thick cotton-padded coat, sitting at the reception desk, half asleep.

Hearing footsteps, the old man woke up with a start, his eyes filled with fear as he looked toward the doorway.

Rong Yi and Wei Yanqing changed into normal clothes, and the old man breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that they were two living people.

As Rong Yi walked, he took out his fake identity. "Sir, we need to stay here for the night."

The old man pulled his cotton-padded coat tighter around himself. "Okay, give me your ID card."

The two handed over their cards, and the old man quickly gave them room keys. "Go and rest early, find your room quickly and go to sleep. Don't do anything unnecessary."

Wei Yanqing smiled and replied, "Okay, sir, you be careful too."

This old man is a normal person; if he were influenced, he wouldn't offer any kind advice.

Watching them leave in the elevator, the old man sighed and continued sitting.

This hotel is nothing like the one I stayed at before. The corridors alone look quite old, and the floor is covered with thick carpets that feel like you're going to sink into them when you step on them.

They quickly found their room, and Wei Yanqing swiped the room card. The corridor lights flickered at that moment.

Seeing that there were no other problems, Rong Yi pushed open the door.

When they opened the door, instead of a hotel room, they found more than a dozen people sitting on the floor with their knees drawn up to their chests. Their fear reached its peak when they opened the door, and they only breathed a sigh of relief when they realized that the people inside were alive.

Rong Yi paused for a few seconds before asking, "Who are you?"

Wei Yanqing glanced at the corridor, then at the scene inside the room, and indeed, an alternate dimension had appeared.

One of the men was chattering, “Hurry up and come in. If you don’t come in by the appointed time, you’ll all die outside.” He practically gritted his teeth as he said these words.

Rong Yi found it extremely novel and slipped into the room.

Wei Yanqing glanced at the corridor and saw nothing, then followed him inside. As soon as the door closed, he disappeared.

"Stop looking. Unless you survive the He Dong Ghost King's game of hiding, the door won't appear."

Upon hearing about the dodge game, Rong Yi was delighted; the Ghost King's tricks were truly interesting.

Whether they were lucky or the Ghost King of Hedong was unlucky, barring any unforeseen circumstances, this will be the last game of evasion.

"So what's going on now? Has the game started?" Rong Yi followed their example, sitting on the ground and hugging his knees.

"The game will begin once the scene changes."

These people looked terrified, yet they kept answering their questions.

Wei Yanqing sat down next to Rong Yi. "How do we play this game?"

As a result, these people were as if their mouths were sealed shut, and they didn't speak for a long time.

Rong Yi: "Can't I answer that?"

A dozen or so people avoided their gaze, seemingly determined to wait for the game to begin.

Rong Yi and Wei Yanqing didn't insist. Anyway, it would be best to see a ghost after the game starts, and they could also get ghost crystals while resting, so why not?

·

Maybe a few minutes passed, maybe half an hour, but after a period of silence, the surrounding darkness shattered like a broken mirror, revealing the houses behind the darkness.

The room was lit by a dim, yellowish light, and surrounded by the most common furniture: a sofa, a coffee table, a television, etc., as if they had suddenly barged into someone's home.

As the darkness shattered, the dozen or so people who had been huddled together quickly got up and scattered, disappearing in less than five seconds, leaving Rong Yi and Wei Yanqing standing there in a daze.

“Avoid…” Rong Yi said, “It should mean exactly what it says.”

Wei Yanqing nodded with his hands in his pockets, "Yeah, that's how fast they run."

The people had run away, but his mental power could still sense their real-time locations.

“This place is interesting.” Wei Yanqing began to observe his surroundings. “This is a real house, not an illusion. It has just been moved to another dimension as a whole.”

"Another dimension?"

“Well, somewhere between reality and nothingness, it’s not uncommon,” Wei Yanqing said, fiddling with the curtains. When he pulled them open, it was pitch black outside, and he could only see his own reflection.

"How many rooms are there here?" Rong Yi couldn't wait to explore.

Wei Yanqing could hear the excitement in her tone, "There are many. Let's split up and see if we can encounter that Ghost King."

Rong Yi immediately put his foot down. "Then I'll be going now. I hope I don't waste too much time here."

Although Ghost Crystal is good, her favorite is still the Ghost Lord of Zhongdu.

Rong Yi pushed open the door and saw a room with a completely different style from the current house. After entering, the door closed automatically.

If the previous one had a retro style, then this one has a modern minimalist style.

The living room was completely unobstructed, with nothing particularly unusual. She walked towards the other rooms, and the first one she saw was the bathroom. It wasn't scary like in horror movies; instead, it was clean and bright.

Next was the secondary bedroom in the room. The blankets on the bed looked soft and comfortable. If the situation allowed, Rong Yi would have liked to rest here for the night.

Beside the bed was a row of wardrobes, inside which women's clothes were neatly arranged.

"That's really despicable, stealing someone else's room."

The house was decorated simply yet warmly, suggesting that the owner had put a lot of thought into it. However, it was snatched away by a ghost and turned into a playground in another dimension.

Rong Yi closed the cabinet door and continued exploring, eventually reaching the master bedroom.

This room is much larger than the secondary bedroom, and it even has a walk-in closet.

Rong Yi admired the dazzling array of clothes, shoes, and bags in the walk-in closet. However, amidst the bright and beautiful decor, a dark-colored, worn-out cabinet door stood out.

She walked slowly to the cabinet door, wondering if there was a ghost inside.

But there's something wrong with this. No one would be stupid enough to open this cabinet door and let a ghost out.

Rong Yi opened the cabinet door directly, but the scene of the ghost face rushing towards him did not appear. The inside was empty. Looking at the inside of the cabinet door, there was a line of crooked words engraved: You can hide for five minutes.

Hide away? Hide in the closet? Is that what you mean?

As Rong Yi was mentally complaining, there was a commotion outside. Something was destroying things in the room, and the brightness of the lights was affected, dimming. Two seconds later, the lights began to flicker, all of which reminded her that a ghost was coming.

To experience the fun of hiding in the cabinet, Rong Yi went directly into the cabinet and closed the door. There were a few cracks in the cabinet door, allowing her to see the scene outside.

The wardrobe was the right height for her; when she stood up straight, the top of the wardrobe was right next to her head.

Soon the door to the dressing room was kicked open, and a ghost covered in blood and dressed in tattered black clothes appeared.
