Chapter 145 A "Guest" from Another Region

Chapter 145 A "Guest" from Another Region

People walking with their eyes straight ahead wouldn't notice a tiny bug under their feet. They chatted and laughed with their companions, discussing what to do tomorrow and deciding on the type of dinner.

A little boy with black hair and fair skin, dressed in an adorable outfit, was squatting on the ground when his mother and her friend met him and stopped to chat for a few minutes.

"This is your baby, so cute!" The mother's friend didn't realize there was anything wrong with the child squatting on the ground.

The boy drooled from the corner of his lips, and his large, clear eyes saw the small red insects. Curiosity drove him to reach out and grab them.

Hearing her friend praise her child, the young mother smiled, turned to look at her son, and saw him about to touch the ground. She immediately stopped talking to her friend, picked up her son, and checked his hands for dirt. "You can't touch the ground, it's dirty," she whispered to her son.

When the friend saw the fast-moving red bug, she pulled the boy's mother aside, saying, "Where did that bug come from? Be careful, don't get bitten."

The boy's mother felt this wasn't the place to talk, so she said, "Let's go to the nearby shopping mall."

They hadn't gone far when a piercing scream came from behind them. They saw several people frantically lifting their clothes, trying to grab something.

Something has crawled in!

"Ah! It's biting me! Help!"

The boy's mother and her friends were shocked. Within seconds, these people vomited blood one after another. They didn't know what was happening, so they had to take out their phones and call an ambulance.

Because she had a child with her, the boy's mother was holding the child and leaning towards the outside with her friend.

Within about a minute, those who screamed collapsed one after another, their bodies convulsing.

More people, unaware of what was happening, gathered around, unknowingly creating a crowd.

Fearing that her child would be affected, the young mother immediately said goodbye to her friends and left the place of trouble.

Inside the encirclement, people were still pointing and talking about the fallen people, but soon they realized something was wrong. The person had fallen, but his body began to move.

When the basketball-sized worm crawled out from under the clothes, the onlookers realized that this was not a sudden illness.

"Get out of the way! There are bugs, man-eating bugs!"

“Let me out!”

"Hurry and go."

As soon as the insects emerged, they ran towards the crowd, which terrified everyone and ignited their survival instincts, causing them to unconsciously increase the force in their hands to push others aside.

The boy in the leather jacket was pushed down by someone. As soon as he fell, he felt something crawling up his clothes.

"Damn it!" He quickly pulled off his coat and threw it away.

Others were pushed down like him, and the gnats crawled over and immediately bit them.

"Ah—!" A girl whose wrist had been bitten screamed shrilly. Fear made her frantically shake the monstrous insect on her hand, even though it was tearing at the wound. She cried as she got up, pulled the insect off her wrist, and ripped off a large piece of flesh.

Some people are not so lucky; their neck artery is bitten, and the worm tries to burrow deeper.

Chaos erupted in front of the building. The juvenile ferocious insects, having devoured a wave of flesh and blood, possessed excellent jumping ability. They leaped into the crowd and wantonly tore at these fragile but fleshy humans.

When the police arrived, the insects had already run some distance, so they immediately mobilized personnel to cordon off the area.

·

To avoid spreading panic, the authorities intentionally suppressed the attention on the meteorite event, but with nearly a hundred casualties, an explanation is necessary.

Rong Yi was still in the cinema lobby, thinking he could wait there for about two hours, but after about half an hour, a cinema staff member suddenly came over.

"We apologize to everyone. We have received notification that the following shows will no longer be broadcast, and those currently being broadcast will also be stopped immediately. Regarding ticket purchases, those who purchased online will be automatically refunded to their accounts, while those who purchased in cash will be refunded at the front desk. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused."

The staff member's words left the people waiting to watch the movie completely bewildered.

"Huh? I bought the ticket specifically for this purpose," someone complained.

"Are you sure you can get your money back? What guarantee do you have? I've already picked up the ticket." A young man was skeptical of the staff member's explanation.

"The refund is being processed now, and you should receive it within a few minutes," the staff member in work clothes explained patiently.

Just as the boy was about to say something more, he saw a notification that a refund had been credited to his account. "Oh? It's been refunded. Let's go then."

People gradually received the notification. Many of those who came to see the movie only waited for a dozen minutes, and left after receiving the refund, feeling they had suffered no loss.

A group of people also came out of the cinema; they were all asked to leave when the movie was halfway through or shortly after it started.

Amidst various complaints and incomprehension, Rong Yi got up and left, it seemed that the impact of the ferocious insects was greater than expected.

Where are you now? The cinema I was in is closed, I have to go somewhere else.

Wei Yanqing replied quickly: "I took advantage of the chaos in Xingchao District to get out, I should be in Fuxin District in about ten minutes."

When Rong Yi went downstairs, he found that all the shops in the mall were asking customers to leave, and it seemed that the entire mall was about to close.

When they emerged, everyone looked bewildered. Several police cars were parked nearby, and officers were using loudspeakers to announce, "A meteorite has landed nearby. To minimize the risk of radiation damage to the public, please follow instructions and leave the cordoned-off area..."

Rong Yi followed the crowd to the subway station, where the authorities had already arranged special trains to transport people from Fuxin District.

Once inside the carriage, the crowded people began discussing the reasons for dispersing the crowd.

"Reliable sources say that there were alien creatures in the meteorite, which attacked people in the CBD area, and I heard that many people died."

"Huh? Really? That's scary."

"It's pretty true. I clicked on a video, but it was deleted after only a few seconds. I guess they deliberately suppressed it."

"It's probably not that exaggerated. Maybe it really is just a radiation issue."

"It probably crashed into a building and injured someone. An alien creature? That's unlikely."

Because of the crowd, it was impossible to see who was saying these things, so Rong Yi began to calculate in his mind how long it would take for this world to completely fall.

After a few subway stops, many people started getting off. Rong Yi followed the crowd down to find out where he was.

[I'm in Fuxin District, where are you?] Wei Yanqing's message arrived.

[Dongsanmen Station, just got off the subway]

Wait for me five minutes.

When Rong Yi arrived at the subway exit, everything looked peaceful. After waiting for about three or four minutes, Wei Yanqing's figure came into view.

"Over here!" Rong Yi waved to him.

Wei Yanqing jogged over and said, "Let's go find a quiet place first."

The two went to a nearby restaurant and specifically looked for a small private room.

The waiter took their order slips out and closed the door behind him.

Wei Yanqing smoothed his hair. Since this instance world was still in a normal phase, he wasn't wearing a mask.

Just now at the subway exit, there were people staring at him as they came out.

Wei Yanqing's eyes were quite different, and he had an Eastern face with sharp features, handsome with a touch of exoticism.

Seeing Rong Yi staring at his face, he touched his cheek. "Not used to it?"
