Chapter 17 Survival of the Brave (The End)
The group ran like boatmen pulling a boat along a rope, getting no more than ten meters from the exact location.
Rong Yi unleashed a burst of energy, running to the front of the group. When they stepped onto their destination, they didn't disappear; it was as if they had entered another dimension.
The weight on the rope didn't decrease until it was completely pulled in, saving another group of people.
It was unclear what was happening outside, but judging from the terrified and stunned expressions of the people who were pulled in later, Rong Yi suspected that the collapse was near the coordinates.
The mission was accomplished, and everyone sat quietly to rest and process what had just happened.
When Rong Yi came to his senses, he saw that there were less than ten minutes left on the countdown.
"Looks like we'll have to wait until the countdown doesn't end," someone said.
Rong Yi put the ten-cubic-meter ring on her left little finger. Unlike storage backpacks that can be stacked, storage rings can hold backpacks but not rings. Now she wore a ring on each of her little fingers.
She rubbed her right hand ring, revealing the contents inside; she was looking for the hard object she had dug out of the spider's nest.
To onlookers, Rong Yi was looking down and folding his hands.
It's easy to rummage through things inside the ring; as long as you remember what the item looks like, you can easily take it out. Just as the hard stone came out of the space and was grasped by his hand, the system interface suddenly popped up in front of Rong Yi's eyes, and he heard a "sizzle" sound.
That wasn't all. The interface flickered as if it were infected with a virus, returning to normal after about two or three seconds, except for a line of text that popped up in the corner: "[Insufficient energy, hibernation progress cannot be canceled]", which disappeared in less than a second.
The bottom right corner shows a few grayed-out words that are supposed to be "dormant and pending release," followed by an extra "0."
This is unbelievable! At first, I thought it was some mysterious function of the system that needed to be unlocked, but now it seems it's not at all.
The hard object in my hand vanished without a trace; it was likely swallowed up by that line of text embedded in the system interface.
"We're leaving soon. Are you going to rest or sell things when you get back?" Song Hang asked her, then remembered something, "There's something I forgot to tell you. The system will take a portion of the resources collected from the dungeon world when you leave, but of course, the things you brought in won't be touched."
Rong Yi turned around abruptly, "What did you say?!"
Her voice was quite loud, attracting the attention of those around her. Song Hang smiled awkwardly, "We were in the same boat as you at first, but there was nothing we could do. Low-level dungeons like ours are alright, we don't get much loot. But when we go to more dangerous dungeons, there will be a lot of high-grade resources, and we can get much more loot from those."
Rong Yi glanced at the ring he had snatched from Hou Tianzong. It contained a number of corpses of various creatures, and he didn't know how many he had killed and how many he had stolen.
"How much should be extracted?"
"It depends on the quality of the supplies; the system decides everything anyway," Song Hang said, shrugging.
There's no fixed limit, which is disgusting!
Judging from her expression, Song Hang knew she was disgusted by the system, so he kept quiet and waited for her to silently process this reality.
Thinking of collecting the hard objects in his spatial storage, Rong Yi flipped his hand and took them out one by one. They were all swallowed by the unknown thing. Every time it swallowed one, it would prompt that the energy was insufficient. The progress was still 0%. It seemed to be a big eater. It was completely unknown how much energy it would take to feed it and get any other reaction.
From the moment those few gray words appeared, Rong Yi was completely unguarded against them, and even felt a strange emotion when they reacted.
Other things were grayed out and had no effect on them, so Rong Yi could only wait quietly for the system to extract a portion.
After calming himself down, Rong Yi looked at Song Hang and said, "Contact me after we get out. I'm planning to sell all the supplies for points."
It's unclear how long I'll be able to rest after I get out, so it's best to finish this as soon as possible.
Song Hang gave an "OK" sign. "See you then. I'll send you the roll call for the meeting point in advance. Just go there and wait."
Rong Yi's contacts quickly received the message, which she silently noted down.
Ten minutes passed quickly, and Rong Yi found himself back in his familiar room.
ยท
Congratulations on completing the Brave Survival dungeon!
Basic rewards: 50 points; Weapon forging/1 time; Explosion beads/3
Receive advanced rewards: 100 points; 1 Tier 1 Shield
Note: The system has deducted 2% of the resources collected in the Brave Survival dungeon from all of the player's storage space.
It may not seem like much, but Rong Yi felt that the system looked down on these mostly low-level items. If those seven transparent stones hadn't been absorbed by the gray text, the loss might not have been as simple as just 2%.
Rong Yi opened the door, and there was the shop that Song Hang had told her about.
The Wu family's shop displays a wide variety of products, seemingly selling everything at first glance. The shop appears rather crowded from the outside.
"Rong Yi!"
Before even entering the store, I heard Song Hang calling out, but he was alone.
Where are your teammates?
"Go to the bar and have some fun, then leave the sales to me. I'll just give them points when we get back."
Rong Yi was slightly surprised, "You trust you so much."
"Tsk, I have a very high level of credibility, you'll definitely believe me."
A woman in a red cheongsam walked out of the store, her movements graceful and elegant. She had delicate features and a beauty mark at the corner of her eye. "Don't listen to his nonsense. The reason I'm so confident is that every transaction in the store is recorded. You didn't know that? Looks like you're a newbie."
"Sister Wu, please don't embarrass me like this. It's not easy for me to show off in front of the newcomers."
The woman, known as Sister Wu, held a lit cigarette between her slender fingers. She sized up Rong Yi, flicked off the ash, and then twisted her waist, saying, "Follow me."
Sister Wu lifted the curtain on the left side of the shop, and Song Hang beckoned Rong Yi to follow.
Behind the curtain is a modernly decorated living room, spacious and bright, completely different from the crowded shops in front.
"What, you think my shop is small?" Sister Wu said with a smile.
She noticed Rong Yi's astonished expression and thought to herself that he was indeed a newcomer.
Sitting on the leather sofa, with two cups of tea on the coffee table, Song Hang didn't stand on ceremony. He picked up a cup and drank it all in one gulp. "This dungeon was too insane. We almost got wiped out in there."
Sister Wu leaned back in her chair and said, "Which dungeon isn't overpowered? Bring me what you want to sell."
Song Hang took off the ring and handed it over. Sister Wu glanced at it and raised her eyebrows slightly, saying, "A total of 626 points. Most of them won't even reach the first tier. You're lucky; you got a few first-tier weapons."
Song Hang nodded, "Most of them were found."
Sister Wu returned the ring to Song Hang, then nodded to Rong Yi, "Your turn."
"Keep the food, supplies, and weapons; sell everything else."
Sister Wu acted quickly, "This spider egg is good, plus the others... a total of 226 points, is that alright?"
Rong Yi nodded, and the points from Sister Wu's side were immediately transferred to her account. When she retrieved the ring, all the crocodiles, spiders, and other items inside were gone, but the backpacks were still there.
Do you accept this backpack?
"Of course, I'll take these 5 points."
She cut the price in half, but Rong Yi still sold it. Most of the people willing to buy the backpack were probably newbies. She was in a hurry to enter the dungeon and didn't visit many shops, otherwise she might not have needed to spend 10 points to buy a bag.
