Chapter 29 Ultimate Summit Climb
Seeing his desired prey fall to the ground, Rong Yi breathed a slight sigh of relief, but he couldn't completely relax.
Leaving aside Zhang Shiting and the others, these prisoners were all competing with her for prey.
The Tyrannosaurus Rex has fallen, but the question of how to distribute its resources remains.
Everyone feels that they have contributed by firing a bullet, and no one can take all the credit for themselves. This is when another layer of struggle begins.
Zhang Shiting could see the desperate effort Rong Yi put into dealing with the Tyrannosaurus Rex and understood that he probably wanted to take it down. Although they had contributed, it was nothing compared to Rong Yi's efforts.
Since the information about the Tyrannosaurus Rex came from her, they silently retreated.
Guan Lang and Leng Rui are not short-sighted people; they know how to make a choice without Zhang Shiting having to say anything.
The three exchanged knowing glances, then turned to the prisoners who were slowly surrounding the Tyrannosaurus Rex's corpse.
Rong Yi straightened his back, the thick soles of his boots making a distinctive rubbing sound as he stepped on the tiles. Seeing the crowd gradually gathering, he unceremoniously pushed aside those blocking his way.
Before the people on the outside could even see the Tyrannosaurus Rex's body clearly, they were pushed aside by the power of Mi Jian. Turning their heads to look, they saw the woman who was not afraid of death and was clinging to the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
"What the hell? Are you trying to push me?!" someone shouted.
Rong Yi glanced at them briefly, only glancing at them with the corner of her eye, and continued walking forward. As she went on, the number of people grumbling and cursing increased.
At this moment, the people closest to the Tyrannosaurus Rex's corpse blocked Rong Yi's path. A man wearing a sleeveless shirt, his bronze skin covered in sweat, said in a gruff voice, "It's our rule here that newcomers are not entitled to receive any supplies."
The people around her laughed. They were surprised by Rong Yi's previous actions, but that didn't mean they recognized her strength.
Rong Yi's face was still stained with Tyrannosaurus Rex blood, and her waterproof mask remained clean, but the blood splattered between her eyes and forehead had congealed. When she lifted her eyelids to look at the person blocking her way, her laughter seemed to be paused.
The people here are no pushovers. Whether they were wrongly accused or truly deserved their fate, the 30th floor is no ordinary place. To survive, you must desperately become stronger; it's a dog-eat-dog world.
As a result, they are more sensitive to the aura of killing, and they can clearly distinguish between ruthless people and those who are all bark and no bite.
As Rong Yi looked up, a fleeting red glint appeared in the depths of his pure black pupils, vanishing in the blink of an eye, as if it were merely their illusion.
The menacing aura emanating from him was no illusion; those blocking his path immediately realized that this was a ruthless character.
"I delivered the fatal blow to the Tyrannosaurus Rex, so this Tyrannosaurus Rex belongs to me. Of course, if you disagree, I accept any challenge, but I have little interest in your corpses."
Rong Yi's eyes were calm and his voice was deep and resonant, yet it sent chills down their spines.
Watching this scene from behind, Zhang Shiting was amazed. This person was truly formidable; his mere presence made dozens of people present feel breathless.
Rong Yi stared intently into the man's eyes, pushed him aside, walked to the tyrannosaurus's head, squatted down, and plunged her hand into the tyrannosaurus's injured eye socket. Her hand touched the wet, slippery flesh, and after half of her arm was submerged, she found the hilt of the dagger.
Warm blood flowed out in large quantities as Rong Yi pulled out the tube, staining the white tiles red.
With a flick of his wrist, Rong Yi shook off the blood clinging to his clothes and dagger, placed his left hand on the Tyrannosaurus Rex's scales, and in the next instant, the massive body vanished from the spot.
The onlookers, who were initially annoyed, all backed away upon seeing this.
·
After the Tyrannosaurus Rex's corpse disappeared, the tiles on the wall in front of us automatically moved aside, revealing boxes. It seems that these are the supplies left after killing the monster.
“You did something stupid. The tower’s administrators need to retrieve the bodies of these things. You will be held accountable for disposing of them on your own.”
Rong Yi turned around and saw that the one who spoke was the man in the sleeveless shirt from before. "Recycling? You've seen them before."
"No one has ever seen them, but these corpses always disappear on their own. Someone tried to hide them before, but we haven't seen them since." The tower never said these things explicitly; they were only discovered by someone trying them out.
Rong Yi nodded. "I see." She opened the boxes placed inside the wall, which were neatly stacked with various foods, including raw meat and vegetables, mostly bottled water, with a few bottles of beverages scattered around.
Looking at the second box, there are three rifles and bullets. The third box is full of daily necessities, including tissues, wet wipes, and even bowls and chopsticks.
After opening the last box, there were two stacked suitcases, and the rest were various medicines, mostly for anti-inflammatory and analgesic purposes.
The suitcase had no combination lock; it could be easily opened by popping out a latch. Inside was a syringe, which appeared to be kept at a low temperature.
The injection was labeled with 8%, and Rong Yi knew that this was the enhanced injection.
She packed both suitcases together. She didn't have time to cook food, but she could sell it for points.
Thinking of this, she turned around to look for Zhang Shiting and the others, "Zhang Shiting! Guan Lang! Leng Rui!"
When Zhang Shiting's name was called, she raised her hand and responded, "Here she is."
The three pushed past the prisoners, and Rong Yi patted the box, "Do you want the food and bullets? You used up your supplies shooting that thing earlier."
Guan Lang plunged his hand into the pile of bullets, feeling them slip through his fingers. "Of course." The diameter of these bullets was exactly the same as the ones they used.
Rong Yi wasn't interested in the two boxes of supplies. "Just give them a third of the rest," she said, pointing to the crowd behind her.
They also wanted to find the entrance to the upper floor as soon as possible, so they couldn't be too ruthless in their actions.
Zhang Shiting, quick-witted and nimble, collected the food and bullets by instinct, while Leng Rui picked out the medicines to collect.
The crowd was stunned. What was going on with these people? They all had spatial folding rings, and people from aristocratic families had been thrown in?
Unfortunately, they were trapped in the towering Jingtian Tower, completely cut off from the outside world, and remained isolated for who knows how long.
Zhang Shiting had saved nearly half of her bullets. She also remembered to look for the entrance. Besides, this was her first time dealing with monsters. The survival difficulty upstairs would definitely be higher. Would there still be a shortage of monsters to kill then?
Seeing that there were still plenty of bullets left, the sleeveless man who was leading the group immediately forgot his resentment at Rong Yi's earlier concession.
While the melon-eating soldiers were firing their weapons, Rong Yi stepped aside. Zhang Shiting saw that she had packed two suitcases, but she didn't seem inclined to ask any questions.
After the items were sorted out and the boxes were closed, the walls automatically returned to normal. The Tyrannosaurus Rex's blood was trampled all over the ground because there were too many people, and the air was filled with a strong stench of blood.
Zhang Shiting covered her mouth and nose in disgust, somewhat regretting not buying a mask like Rong Yi had.
The man in the sleeveless shirt knew these people were not ordinary, so he stepped forward and said, "Just ask me anything you want to know. I'll answer what I can, but it's no use asking more questions if I don't know the answer."
Zhang Shiting didn't speak, but looked at Rong Yi. Players value strength, and she knew that in the battle with the Tyrannosaurus Rex, she couldn't have ended the fight with only minor injuries like Rong Yi.
"How do I get to the 31st floor, or rather, how do I quickly find the entrance to the top?"
The man in the sleeveless shirt was taken aback, thinking they would ask him all sorts of questions about Tyrannosaurus Rex or the rules of this floor.
Rong Yi frowned and tilted his head to look at him. "Is it hard to answer?"
Happy New Year!
