Chapter 119 Going to the Claw Machine

In the following days, Lu Chuqing and Qu Fusang started studying online. Without so many people bothering them, they finished all their homework in three days.

Having finished her homework, Qu Fusang was in a good mood and immediately asked, "How many days of vacation are left? I've finished my homework too. Chuqing, do you want to come out and play?"

If they went out together, those boys might come along too. Just thinking about those delinquent teenagers who acted like they were "brothers" and "masters" gave her a headache.

So she said, "No, my mom has arranged extracurricular classes for me, and I don't have time to go."

She wasn't lying; taking portrait commissions was just a hobby.

"Oh, okay then." A hint of disappointment appeared on the little girl's face.

The two chatted for a while longer before hanging up.

Remembering Qu Fusang's disappointed expression, Lu Chuqing checked the remaining orders, roughly confirmed the time, and then sent another message to the girl.

There's enough time to go out for a short while, but not too long.

Mumu Sang: [Yay! I knew Chu Qing was the best to me~]

Upon seeing the message, the girl lying in bed smiled.

Although I can't quite understand kids these days, having a cute and sweet female friend is still pretty great.

During the holiday, Xi Qingxu was busy with part-time jobs, so Lu Chuqing didn't see him much.

Aside from the first day, she only saw the boy once in the following days.

On the day I went out with Qu Fusang, the two girls strolled around the pedestrian street and bought a few accessories that little girls like.

Knowing that Lu Chuqing was rarely out, the two arranged to have lunch together in advance.

Tired and hot after walking around, the two bought an iced drink and sipped it while looking at the screen.

"Chuqing, what should we eat for lunch?"

The pedestrian street sells all kinds of things. The section that used to sell goods is now all about food, including snacks and restaurants.

Lu Chuqing didn't know what to eat. She was feeling hot and thirsty, and she couldn't muster any interest in the fried, grilled, and heavily seasoned dishes.

"I don't know, I don't really want to eat anything," she said truthfully.

Actually, Qu Fusang couldn't eat much at the moment either. Seeing that the girl had no appetite, she took out her phone and looked at it.

"There's a movie theater nearby. Let's go there and have some fun. They have air conditioning, which is much cooler than standing on the street."

Lu Chuqing leaned over and glanced at her phone. It wasn't far; just a few hundred meters to the right ahead. "Okay."

The cinema wasn't big; it was located on the basement floor. As soon as the two girls entered, they felt a chill in the air.

Feeling the cool breeze, the two little girls seemed to finally come back to life.

"It's so cool!" Lu Chuqing exclaimed.

Qu Fusang also said, "If we had known, we would have come earlier. We were so silly to have stood by the roadside for so long."

"It's not too late, let's take a walk around first," Lu Chuqing said.

Let's go!

The two little girls strolled around hand in hand.

The entrance leads directly to the play area, with an arcade on one side and a children's playground on the other.

Qu Fusang saw someone playing with Pikachu and dragged Lu Chuqing over to play.

The movie theater wasn't very big, but the arcade was packed with people.

Lu Chuqing wasn't much of a player and didn't want to dampen Qu Fusang's spirits, so she went with her to get a membership card.

After topping up the money, the little girl pulled her along and ran quickly to the claw machine that was full of Pikachu characters.

"So many Pikachu! And they all have different expressions!" Qu Fusang exclaimed with delight, taking a liking to a Pikachu with a crying expression.

"Chuqing, Chuqing, I need to clip the one that's crying. Can you check the clip from the side for me?"

"good."

The little girl swiped the card and started shaking the joystick to move the clamp in that direction.

"Move forward a little, you're too far back," Lu Chuqing suggested from the side.

It was very noisy around, and Qu Fusang didn't quite hear her. She thought she was saying that the clip was too far forward and Pikachu was too far back, so she moved the clip back a little.

The hand that was about to press the button was bumped, and the finger pressed the button. The clip inside fell down, grabbed some air, and then returned to its original position.

Lu Chuqing, "..."

Qu Fusang was very angry, saying, "What a pity, I didn't even get to meet Pikachu."

Seeing her disappointed look, Lu Chuqing went over and took her seat, saying, "Can you watch for me? I'll get you some food."

She swiped her card as she spoke, and then used the clip to target a Pikachu that seemed easier to grab.

Asking Qu Fusang to help her check was just an excuse. When she thought it was about right, she pressed the button, and the clips clamped onto the doll. As the clips lifted, the doll was also pulled upwards.

Qu Fusang was stunned!

Wow! Chuqing! You're amazing!

However, as soon as he finished speaking, one of the three claws suddenly loosened, and Pikachu began to slide down because of that claw, instantly falling back to its original position.

"Oh? We were so close," Qu Fusang said regretfully.

Lu Chuqing remained calm and swiped her card again. "Try again."

She already knew where the trap was. She shook the joystick a few times, and the claws inside moved accordingly. She looked at the gap between the two claws and pressed the button.

The claws descended, gripping Pikachu's neck perfectly. The claws tightened, and the plush toy wobbled and fell from where it had been.

"Ahhh! Chuqing, you're amazing!" Qu Fusang cheered, hugging her tightly.

"Alright, alright, let's get the doll first," Lu Chuqing said with a smile.

"Yes, yes, let's get the doll first!"

The two of them squatted down, ready to grab the doll, only to find it empty!

"Huh? Why isn't it there?" Qu Fusang asked in confusion.

She stood up and peered again at where the doll had fallen, vaguely seeing a bit of yellow fabric. "It looks like it's stuck."

Lu Chuqing reached inside and felt around, but found nothing.

"I'll go ask the staff about the situation and see if we can get it out. You wait here in case someone comes over."

"good."

After finishing her explanation, Lu Chuqing went to the card recharge counter and explained the situation to the staff. They said the staff wanted to make more money and that the equipment was working perfectly, so if the card didn't come out, it meant the card hadn't been successfully clamped.

Lu Chuqing knew she was being wronged, so she patiently explained the situation again, but the young woman immediately became impatient.

"Didn't I tell you that if it didn't come out, it didn't work! Everyone who gets a plush toy will get it out!"

Lu Chuqing was also a little dissatisfied, but patiently explained again, "I've said it twice already, I managed to grab the doll, but it got stuck when it fell out."

The girl hadn't expected this girl, who looked to be only eleven or twelve, to be so difficult. She frowned and said, "I can't help you if you're stuck. Why don't you try swiping again and see if you can fall out!"

"If it gets stuck, will it fall out after swiping the card?" Lu Chuqing calmly asked. "I can swipe the card many times and still not get the plush toy, but I can't swipe the card once and get the plush toy, only to be told that I have to swipe it again to get it."

"You have to swipe your card once before playing the claw machine and again after winning a plush toy. Since you have to swipe your card twice to win a plush toy, why don't you clearly state this on the sign? Isn't this deliberately deceiving consumers?"
