Chapter 24 The Liu Family Causes Trouble (Part 1)

It was already evening when we arrived at the Liu family's house.

Old Liu had heard that Lu Ying was also coming, and his old face darkened from morning till night.

Upon seeing Liu Fengming enter with his men, he immediately closed the door to the main room, leaving the group of people stranded in the low-walled courtyard without even a door.

Lu Chuqing immediately grabbed Lu Ying's hand and said loudly, "Mom, let's leave as soon as we've seen Grandma, Grandpa doesn't welcome us."

Liu Fengming felt a moment of embarrassment, somewhat dissatisfied with his father.

I've already said it so many times on the phone: once they get home, just pretend and get Lu Chuqing to stay first.

When the others arrived, they still pulled the same stunt, and the little dumpling immediately became unhappy.

He could only force a smile and say, "Qingqing has misunderstood Grandpa. Grandma is seriously ill, and Grandpa is afraid that Grandma's illness will affect Qingqing."

However, no sooner had the man finished speaking than an old, hoarse woman's voice came from the low, small side room next to the kitchen, "Fengming... it's Fengming back... cough cough! cough!"

Liu Fengming's face froze.

Lu Ying didn't even look at him, and said to Lu Chuqing, "Come on, Chuqing, let's go see Grandma."

As he spoke, he picked up what he was carrying and walked toward the small side room.

Before arriving at Liu's house, Lu Ying bought a box of pure milk and some other boxes of gifts on the street in town. She also bought elderly milk powder and other nutritional products for Grandma Liu. She brought quite a lot of things.

It was still more than ten miles from the town to Liu's house, and Liu Fengming was planning to have his third brother pick him up.

Seeing that he had made two unsuccessful phone calls, Lu Ying didn't waste any time and simply found a dilapidated rural tricycle outside the station.

When the last person getting off said the fare was ten yuan, Liu Fengming's eyes widened in shock, and he exclaimed, "So expensive?! You dare to charge ten yuan for this beat-up little car of yours, right here in town!"

The driver wasn't polite either, yelling at the top of his lungs, "You dare ride here if you don't have money! This is the price even in the county town! Don't you even know how far it is from the town to your doorstep!"

Lu Ying knew that it was so far away that a taxi would cost much more, so she paid the fare of ten yuan without saying a word.

Regardless of whether Liu Fengming felt embarrassed or not, he carried the things and headed towards the Liu family's house.

Liu Fengming's third brother lives in the courtyard on the east side, separated from the elderly couple by only one wall.

Lu Ying came from the west, so she didn't know if Liu San's family had anyone.

Just as they reached the door of the side room carrying their things, the woman's loud voice came over the low wall, "Oh! You're back so soon!"

Hearing the voice, Liu Fengming looked up at the person who had arrived, smiled, and went to greet them, "Third Sister-in-law!"

Zhou Yunmei held a baby boy who was about five or six months old in her arms. Her oval face with big double eyelids was full of smiles.

"Oh dear! Your third brother drank too much yesterday. I was even thinking of having the fourth brother's family arrange a car to pick you up. I didn't expect you to get home so quickly!"

Liu Fengming quickly replied, "Thank you for your concern, Third Sister-in-law. There are three-wheeled motorcycles on the street that go to the countryside, so we took one back!"

Zhou Yunmei's eyes widened immediately. "You came back by three-wheeled motorcycle? That must have cost a lot of money! I heard that those who offer rides to people charge exorbitant prices! Don't get ripped off!"

The man immediately gave a dismissive smile. "It's just a little money. They'll even bring the delivery person to your doorstep. Spending a little money saves you trouble, doesn't it?"

Lu Chengyang couldn't stand the man's pretentious and face-saving act, so he said directly, "That's right, my aunt is paying for your ride, so it's definitely more convenient!"

The boy's words immediately drew the attention of the two men. Liu Fengming's face stiffened, but he forced a smile and said, "It's easier for everyone, it's easier for everyone!"

Zhou Yunmei had already seen the person in front of the side room, but she pretended not to see them.

Who in the entire Liu family village doesn't know that Zhou Yunmei is the prettiest? But when this woman from out of town arrived, she instantly made her look like ashes at the bottom of a pot.

Besides, she's the sister-in-law. How dare that woman from out of town ask her to speak first?

This caught Lu Chengyang's attention. She naturally knew from the word "little aunt" that the boy was the child of Lu Ying's brother, but she still asked Liu Fengming with a puzzled look on her face.

"Fengming, who are these people...?"

The woman's face was filled with obvious doubt, which looked very real. Liu Fengming hurriedly explained to her, "This is Qing... Jingjing's mother, and the boy next to her is her brother's child."

Zhou Yunmei suddenly realized, and exclaimed in surprise, "Oh my! This is my sister-in-law!"

"Look at my memory! I'm getting old and my eyesight is failing. I looked for a long time and still couldn't recognize her as my sister-in-law!"

The woman called out as she came over, and Lu Ying said with a forced smile, "Hello, Liu Fengming's sister-in-law."

Liu Fengming and Zhou Yunmei's expressions immediately froze.

Looking at the woman with big eyes and a sharp face in front of her, painful memories from her past life flooded her mind. Without the slightest hesitation, she followed up on Lu Ying's words and asked.

"Mom, who is this lady? Why is she trying to claim kinship with us?"

She knew what Zhou Yunmei cared about most, so she deliberately stabbed her in the spot.

Lu Chuqing is usually very polite to everyone she meets, so her words just now were clearly intentional.

Lu Ying knew that Zhou Yunmei was pretending to be confused and deliberately trying to embarrass her, so she didn't need to be nice to her anymore.

Following the little dumpling's words, "According to the local dialect, Qingqing, you should call her Auntie."

Then Lu Chuqing, being quite adept at handling situations, stared with innocent, wide eyes and asked in confusion, "Why does this old lady want to claim kinship with us?"

Lu Chengyang, the "finishing blow expert," held her small hand and explained to her, "I heard that people in small villages are like this. When they see someone from a big city, they like to pretend to suddenly recognize you and then say that you are some kind of relative of theirs!"
