Chapter 44 Bad Luck (Part Two)



She tossed the grass in her hand to the sheep, patted it off, and then took the box.

Upon closer inspection, their eyes widened in surprise.

It's a strawberry-themed music box.

The base is a green strawberry vine with two pale gold metal stems that curve in a parabolic shape. The upper stem bears a whole, small red strawberry, connected to the stem by a chain. The lower stem is slightly thicker, and the strawberry connected to it by the chain is several times larger than the one above, but this strawberry is not whole.

In the center is a round, transparent crystal ball, inside which is a strawberry field, and a slightly taller little boy is holding the hand of a slightly shorter little girl.

It is obvious that the little boy is Lu Linqi and the little girl is Lu Chuqing.

This was supposed to be a very heartwarming scene, but...

Lu Chuqing pointed to the slightly older boy inside the fence surrounding the strawberry vine and asked Lu Linqi, "So, second brother, is this the older brother?"

Lu Linqi noticed that the corners of her mouth were turned up, and assumed that she didn't like it, which made him feel a little flustered.

He asked her, "If you don't like it, give it back to me." He then reached out to take it.

Lu Chuqing quickly pulled her arms back and hugged herself, "Did I say I didn't like it?"

Then she took it out to look at it again, a smile spreading across her face. "Thank you, Second Brother, I really like it!"

Finally, he added, "I especially like it."

Hmm, the ears of the proud and arrogant second brother turned red again.
