For two consecutive days, Lu Ying was frequently summoned by her superiors because of the three women.
The guilty party accused Lu Ying first, and after she produced the recording pen, they insisted that she had deliberately edited the recording.
She won't argue with these people to the death; instead, she'll present other, more compelling evidence to prove herself.
I thought my boss would distinguish right from wrong and give those three women the punishment they deserved, but it turned out he only gave them a verbal reprimand and that was it.
Lu Ying was genuinely angry and helpless at the time.
Especially the arrogant and provocative look in that young woman's eyes as she walked past her.
That's just how the workplace is; you can't do anything about it if you feel it's unfair.
Unless you have a much stronger background.
Lu Ying knew that if she told her second brother, Lu Hang, things would go much more smoothly.
But if she did that, she would be just like those other people.
So she swallowed her anger and continued to see those three women at the company, despite her displeasure.
She thought the matter was over, but she didn't expect that from that day on, her boss would make things difficult for her and frequently call her to the office for a reprimand.
On one occasion, her boss walked from across the desk behind her, placed his large hand on her lower back, and whispered in her ear in a very ambiguous tone.
“Designer Lu, it’s not a good thing for a woman to be too strong. Look at the situation now, why bother with all this? You have to know when to back down.”
"It must have been really tough for you to get into university. You're over thirty now, and you still have the work experience of a young girl just starting out in the workforce."
"I heard you're also raising your daughter. It must be tough taking care of a child alone. What if you lose this job..."
The man paused, drawing out his words, his greasy, naked gaze sweeping from the woman's fair earlobe down to her perfectly buttoned collar.
The woman in front of him grabbed a heavy folder from his desk and threw it directly at his face.
The man was caught off guard and his nose bled profusely.
Seeing his disheveled appearance, Lu Ying didn't hesitate for long. She raised her low-heeled foot and kicked the man's thigh hard.
He coldly cursed, "You filthy, stinking, disgusting thing!"
After leaving the office, Lu Ying didn't want to stay there a moment longer and packed her things to leave.
My gaze fell on a bag in the corner, inside which was a light gray plaid short-sleeved shirt.
She picked up the bag and walked straight out of the company.
Her boss chased after her, covering his nose and yelling at her, threatening that if she left today, he would fire her tomorrow.
The other employees craned their necks to watch the spectacle, but Lu Ying's steps didn't stop; instead, she walked faster and faster.
In the blink of an eye, the woman's tall and sexy figure disappeared.
Lu Ying took the elevator upstairs.
The day after that, she brought the clothes to the company, thinking she would return them to Xi Jun when she ran into him in the morning or after get off work.
Unexpectedly, she didn't see a man for two days in a row.
Lu Ying remembered the company name on his work badge from last time, and found it quickly after going upstairs.
Just as she reached the door, a bearded man came out from inside, and Lu Ying reached out to stop him.
"Excuse me, do you know Mr. Xi Jun? I need to speak with him about something."
Old Lin had just finished a report and was about to hand it in to the headquarters office at the end of the road when he looked up and was stopped in his way by a gentle and beautiful woman.
He paused for a moment, then pointed at Lu Ying and widened his eyes slightly.
Lu Ying was puzzled by him. He seemed to know her, but after thinking about it, she realized she had never seen this man before.
However, she quickly realized that they had been going up and down stairs, and they might have bumped into each other in the elevator on their way to and from get off work, which was why the man remembered her.
However, she didn't know that Old Lin's impression of her was far more than just a vague one; it was an extremely deep one.
"Look at them, they've come knocking on our door," Old Lin thought to himself, marveling at how quickly Xi Yun was making progress.
They always seem quiet and aloof, but when they meet someone they like, they act really fast!
Old Lin composed himself and looked at Lu Ying truthfully, "I'm sorry, Xi Jun went on a business trip and left in the middle of the night the day before yesterday."
Lu Ying was taken aback when she heard this, "You went on a business trip?"
Seeing the woman's expression, Old Lin, fearing she would be upset, quickly added, "But he'll be back today. He should be at the company this afternoon to give a report. You can come back this afternoon."
Lu Ying couldn't wait until the afternoon. After thinking for a moment, she took out a notepad and the pen she always carried with her, quickly wrote down a string of numbers, and stuck it on the inside of the bag.
Then he handed the bag to Lao Lin, saying, "Since he won't be back until this afternoon, could you please put this on his workstation? I won't be working here anymore, so I won't see him. Thank you for your help."
This time, Old Lin was taken aback and blurted out, "You're not coming to work here anymore?"
This left Lu Ying completely bewildered. Why was this person so shocked, as if her not coming to work here was some huge deal?
She felt confused, but then she remembered the way Xi Jun always looked at her, and since this person was Xi Jun's colleague, she could guess that this person must have a good relationship with Xi Jun.
So, the surprised expression on his face when he saw her earlier was explained.
Lu Ying smiled and said, "Yes, so could you please take this to Mr. Xi Jun for me?"
Looking at the bag in front of him, Old Lin thought to himself, "That means Xi Jun won't be able to find a woman he likes anymore!"
So, on a whim, he pulled the sticky note with his contact information written on it out of the bag.
He said to the woman, "This is his personal property, so it's best if you give it to him in person. I'll just pass him a note so he can contact you as soon as he gets back."
Without giving the woman time to react, Old Lin grabbed the report and jogged towards his office.
By the time Lu Ying realized what was happening, the man had already run far away, while the other employees inside were still busy working. She could only suppress the urge to call out to Lao Lin.
She glanced down at the bag for two seconds and then gave up on asking someone to help her hand it over.
Old Lin is right. It's better to return things in person.
Although a piece of clothing is not an expensive item, what matters is sincerity.
If she asked someone to pass it on, even if she left her phone number, it would be another matter if Xi Junlian didn't contact her afterwards.
She stopped working there after that, and the two of them probably won't meet again.
Whether she meets him or not isn't a big deal; it's just that she can't repay the favors she owes, and that makes her unable to sleep soundly.
With that thought in mind, Lu Ying had no choice but to take the bag and go home.
After returning home, Xi Jun had just washed away her fatigue and stepped out of the bathroom when her phone, which was charging, started ringing loudly.
As I dried my hair and went over, I saw it was that annoying old Lin.
他本想直接挂断,又想起这会儿还没下班,能让他在上班时间打来电话,可见是有绝对紧急的事。
没再犹豫,席筠拿起电话接通,“喂,出什么事了?”
