Chapter 84 Revealing Long-Held Secrets

"I, I, I..."

The woman before me had bright, sparkling eyes, a slightly flushed face, and moist, smiling lips.

Her breath carried a faint, sweet fragrance, which made it difficult for him to breathe. His entire esophagus felt like it was being burned, so dry that it desperately needed some moisture to relieve the dryness.

He couldn't help but swallow, and then swallow again.

Seeing Xi Jun's Adam's apple bobbing up and down, Lu Ying withdrew her right hand from behind her neck, lightly touching her reddened earlobe with her fingertips, then gliding along her taut jawline, stopping at the protruding Adam's apple.

The man's breath caught in his throat for a moment.

Lu Ying touched the tip of Xi Jun's Adam's apple with the pad of her index finger, leaned in close to her slightly trembling lips, and when they were only a hair's breadth apart, she looked up at Xi Jun.

"Xi Jun, do you want to kiss me?"

Her sweet voice was like a boulder hitting my ear, shattering the calm I was trying so hard to maintain.

With a gulp, Xi Jun tightened her arms around Lu Ying, burying her head in her shoulder, inhaling the faint fragrance, her low, husky voice carrying a hint of grievance.

"Yingying, can you please stop? I... I can't take it..."

"……..."

Xi Jun's glasses were soaked with rainwater, so she took them off and placed them on the shoe cabinet as soon as she got home.

At this moment, feeling the man's hot face pressed against her shoulder, and the hot breath he exhaled through the thin gauze fabric reaching her skin, Lu Ying's face couldn't help but burn as well.

The hands that were wrapped around her back were very strong, but she restrained herself from letting their bodies press too close together.

This small gesture completely dispelled her previous anger, but she also managed to suppress the fact that Xi Jun's actions made her both angry and amused.

She raised her hand and pushed him lightly, without using much force. The man straightened up from her shoulder, still blushing and not daring to look at her, but he didn't loosen his grip on her back at all.

Lu Ying glared at him and said irritably, "We're both parents, why are you acting like I'm forcing you?"

Xi Jun didn't say anything after hearing this, but the shyness on her face visibly faded a bit.

Lu Ying thought her words reminded him of his ex, and the atmosphere suddenly turned sour. She patted the man's arm and said, "Let go!"

She wasn't actually angry or jealous, after all, she also had an ex-husband.

She just felt that the man holding her reminded her of her ex, and she couldn't feel any affection for him at all.

At the very least, when you're with your current partner, don't show it so obviously when you think of your ex.

When Xi Jun saw the woman's expression turn cold, his heart tightened. He thought she was angry, so instead of loosening his grip, he tightened it even more.

He really liked Lu Ying, so he didn't want to hide it from her. Without much hesitation, he rested his head on the woman's shoulder again and spoke in a low voice.

“Yingying, I don’t want to lie to you, but I’m afraid you’ll be angry if you find out, so I didn’t tell you everything about my situation that day.”

Lu Ying was stunned when she heard this. That day, he even told her about his family's wealth, so she thought that the man had told her everything. It turned out that there was still something he was hiding from her!

But judging from the man's sincere demeanor at the time, he might have had some unspeakable secret.

So she said, "If you're afraid I'll get angry, then don't say anything."

However, Xi Jun, hearing her seemingly calm words, assumed she was truly angry and tightened her grip on the woman's arm, urgently saying, "No! I want to say it!"

"If I don't say it now, I'll never have the chance again."

Lu Ying had no idea what Xi Jun was imagining; she only felt the head on her shoulder growing heavier and the arms around her back tightening their grip.

She seemed afraid that if he loosened his grip, she would disappear.

Lu Ying was jolted when she suddenly felt a warm, damp sensation on her shoulder.

He cried?!

This realization threw her mind into confusion. She turned her head to look at the man on her shoulder. "Xi Jun, look up."

A man's deep voice came through, "No..."

Lu Ying was about to say something more when she heard the man say, "Unless you promise me that you won't be angry with me after I finish speaking."

That pitiful tone made Lu Ying unable to bear saying "no," so she had no choice but to reply helplessly, "Okay, I promise you."

"Can you get up now?"

Xi Jun gave a muffled "hmm" before slowly lifting off her shoulder, her eyes red and wet as she stared at her expectantly.

Lu Ying couldn't stand his appearance, so she reached out to wipe away the tears from the corners of his eyes and said softly, "Tell me, I'm listening. I'll decide whether to be angry or not after I hear what you have to say."

Xi Jun tilted his head and rubbed against her hand, being both obedient and clingy, which made her unable to resist touching his face again.

Only after being reassured did the man slowly speak.

"Actually, I've never been in a relationship..."

The first sentence dropped a bombshell on Lu Ying, who couldn't help but exclaim in surprise, "You've never been in a relationship, yet you have a son?"

"No, no! My son isn't my biological child!" Xi Jun explained urgently.

"ah?!"

Lu Ying felt even more shocked, instantly conjuring up a melodramatic plot of 100,000 words in her mind.

"So, you were cheated on? And then you raised someone else's son? That's why you got divorced?!"

Xi Jun was surprised that Lu Ying could guess it so quickly. She explained, "Pretty much. It's true that I raised someone else's son, but I wasn't cheated on and I've never been married."

Seeing the man's hesitant expression, Lu Ying couldn't help but start imagining things, but asked curiously, "So what exactly happened?"

The man sighed, a hint of sadness creeping onto his face, and began to recount events from many years ago.

“My parents left early, and I lived with my uncle’s family ever since. But my uncle’s family was not nice to me. I had a hard time during that period. I didn’t like to talk and I had no friends.”
