Ruan Niang came out of the pharmacy and wandered around aimlessly.
She grew up in the Sheng family, her body and mind in the Sheng family, and for the first time she felt an unprecedented loneliness.
Sheng Jingheng is her pillar of support. With him, she feels that the Sheng family is her home. If he changes his mind, she can no longer stay there.
Entered a pub, this was her first time here.
The waiter asked, "Madam, what kind of wine would you like to order?"
"Here's your strongest drink!"
Ruan Niang was drinking alone by the window, one cup after another.
As it was getting dark, a carriage passed by on this road.
The attendant stopped the carriage and drew aside the curtain, "Sir, do you think the lady is drinking there?"
Sheng Jingheng looked carefully and saw that it was indeed Ruan Niang. He hurriedly got off the carriage.
"Madam, why aren't you at home? Why are you out drinking?"
Ruan Niang's cheeks flushed, her eyes blurred, and she pushed him away, "Go away, don't you want to go home? I won't force you!"
Sheng Jingheng quickly paid for the wine and said, "Madam, let's go back."
"No! Where to go back? Where is my home?" Ruan Niang burst into tears.
Sheng Jingheng had no choice but to pick her up by the waist and put her on the carriage. He ordered, "Go to the inn first, then go to the mansion to tell the old lady that you are safe."
In the inn, Sheng Jingheng sat by the bed, holding Ruan Niang's hand, his eyes full of guilt.
Ruan Niang was drunk and fell into a deep sleep.
"Mother Ruan, I'm sorry." Sheng Jingheng whispered, "I didn't mean to stay away from home, and I haven't changed my mind. I just did something wrong and I can't face you."
Ruan Niang was in a daze, crying and laughing, talking about the hardships she had endured over the years.
Sheng Jingheng's eyes were wet, "I'm sorry..."
In the Sheng Mansion, Sheng's mother and Sheng Xitang sat in the hall, waiting anxiously.
The housekeeper hurried in and reported, "Old Madam, Second Miss, the master has brought his wife to stay at the inn. Don't worry."
Sheng Xitang felt relieved and said with a smile: "Mom, it's okay, let's have dinner."
Mother Sheng's brows were still furrowed as she whispered, "Your eldest brother hasn't returned home these days. I'm afraid it's not that simple. I have a feeling something bad is going to happen."
Sheng Xitang held her hand and said softly, "Mother, don't worry, my brother and sister-in-law will definitely reconcile."
The housekeeper hurried in and reported, "Second Miss, Prince Yu is here and waiting for you at the door. He said he wants to take you to see the lanterns."
Sheng Xitang frowned and whispered, "I'm not going."
Mother Sheng advised, "Don't let their kindness go to waste. No matter what, go and talk it out with them."
Sheng Xitang had no choice but to stand up: "Mother, then you eat alone, I will go and talk to him clearly."
The capital city is brightly lit at night, and the streets are bustling with people.
Sheng Xitang and Prince Yu walked side by side by the river, holding a lotus lantern in their hands, but their expressions were a little absent-minded.
"Tangtang, what do you think of this lamp?" Prince Yu asked her with a smile, pointing to an exquisite rabbit lamp.
Sheng Xitang forced a smile and whispered, "Very good."
Prince Yu noticed her emotions and asked softly, "Are you still thinking about Qi Yan?"
Sheng Xitang nodded, a hint of sadness flashing in his eyes: "He has been away for so long, and there is no news at all. I am really worried."
Prince Yu was silent for a moment, then smiled and said, "Why don't we release river lanterns and make a wish? Perhaps it will bless him to return safely."
Sheng Xitang nodded, and the two walked to the riverside, each writing a wish on a river lantern. Sheng Xitang picked up his pen and wrote, "May Qi Yan return safely."
Prince Yu took a look and felt a pang in his heart, but he didn't say it out loud. He picked up the pen and wrote: "May Tangtang be safe and happy."
The two put the river lanterns into the water and watched them slowly drift away.
Sheng Xitang looked at the river lanterns, tears welling up in his eyes.
Prince Yu patted her shoulder gently and said softly, "Don't worry, Qi Yan will definitely come back safely."
Just then, a drunk man staggered over and ran straight into Sheng Xitang.
She was caught off guard and stumbled, slipped, and fell into the river.
“Tangtang!” Prince Yu was horrified and shouted hurriedly, “Help! Help!”
Although he couldn't swim, he didn't care about anything else and jumped into the river.
The river water was freezing cold in winter. Prince Yu struggled desperately but found that he could not float at all.
Sheng Xitang was struggling in the water and was about to sink.
Prince Yu swam to her side with all his might, tightly grasped her hand, and said in a trembling voice: "Tangtang, I don't regret dying with you."
A thought flashed through my mind: If I die, can I go back to the modern era?
In fact, he was reluctant to leave here, because Sheng Xitang was no longer there.
Tears flashed in Sheng Xitang's eyes, and a warm feeling surged in his heart.
Just as the two men were sinking to the bottom of the river, several passers-by jumped into the river and rescued them to shore.
A passerby pressed the water out of Sheng Xitang's mouth. She coughed a few times and slowly woke up.
But Prince Yu was still unconscious and his face was pale.
Sheng Xitang rushed to his side, crying and shouting, "Wake up! I don't want you to die with me!"
She recalled how good Prince Yu had been to her, and her heart was filled with regret.
Prince Yu never backed down because of her indifference and always stayed by her side silently.
Holding his hand tightly, tears fell: "Wake up soon, I won't chase you away!"
The people around him murmured, "Is he out of breath? Does he need a breather?"
Sheng Xitang bit her lip, and without hesitation, she lowered her head and covered Prince Yu's lips to breathe for him.
