Chapter 11: 1 Star Coin, That's Your Price
Looking at Sang Lin across from her, Nan Jiao's eyes held a subtle expression.
I wonder what Lu Xiao would think if he heard that he was a mover of ugly goods?
"Finished cursing?" Nan Jiao leaned forward slightly. "You cursed nine times in total. How do you want to pay me?"
Sang Lin paused, seemingly surprised that Nan Jiao actually intended to accept money. She sneered and casually sent 100,000 star coins.
"Looks like you're really desperate for money. Don't you feel ashamed to take my money? ... Fine, consider it charity."
"What's there to be embarrassed about? I earned this money by taking the blame. If you want me to feel ashamed, give me more, and maybe I'll feel embarrassed."
Sang Lin sneered, as if she had seen through everything: "Someone as shameless as you would never feel ashamed."
Sang Lin turned to leave, but suddenly heard Nan Jiao's voice behind her: "Wait."
She said impatiently, "Keep the change from the extra ten thousand star coins. I don't need that little bit of money."
"You just insulted me three more times, you have to pay extra."
Sang Lin angrily turned around and threw down 30,000 star coins: "You're crazy!"
Just as she was about to turn around, she suddenly remembered something, threw down another ten thousand, gritted her teeth, and left.
"Welcome to visit us again."
Nan Jiao said, then sorted out the money she had just received.
Sang Lin's money is really easy to make.
"Welcome, sir. What would you like to order?"
"I'm looking for your store manager."
A male voice rang out from above: "Nan Jiao, here is a check for 500,000 Star Coins, if you agree to move out of here."
Nan Jiao slowly raised her head and reached out to tidy up the slightly messy strands of hair at her temples.
"Clin? You and your husband made this agreement?"
Klin frowned slightly: "I don't know what you're talking about, Nan Jiao. Don't be ungrateful."
He turned slightly to the side, his smooth jawline carrying a touch of delicate femininity:
"What happened in the past... I was in the wrong. This is my compensation to you out of consideration for our past relationship. Five hundred thousand star coins is enough for you to move to a different place. Don't try to fight Sang Lin head-on anymore; you can't beat her."
His voice paused slightly, trembling a little: "We were together after all. I don't want to see you go bankrupt and homeless. Take this money and leave. This is the last bit of dignity I'm leaving you."
Nan Jiao sneered, watching Klin's self-indulgent performance.
Do you consider yourself very affectionate?
Nan Jiao's gaze lightly swept over the check:
"You think you can make me move out for 500,000 Star Coins? Can you afford the rent and renovation costs of my restaurant, or the reputation I've built up over the years? It would cost at least 3 million Star Coins."
Klin turned around, frowning slightly: "You're asking for the moon. Don't be so greedy."
"Me, asking for an exorbitant amount?" Nan Jiao chuckled. "If you don't have the means, don't try to act like a big shot. Are you trying to fob off a beggar with 500,000?"
“You…” Klin looked at Nan Jiao in disbelief, as if he were seeing her for the first time:
When did you start speaking so harshly and sarcasticly?
“I’m never polite to a scumbag like you.” Nan Jiao stared intently into his eyes, every word a testament to her indignation on behalf of the original owner of this body.
"Now you've learned to feign deep affection? What were you doing all this time? Didn't you cheat on me? Or did you spread those rumors?"
The male in front of her will probably never know that the original owner completely lost the will to live after being betrayed by him.
When he was pursuing her, he called her a treasure and said he would stay with her forever, even if it meant his family would die. When he turned on her, he called her a jinx, saying she had brought death to her whole family and deserved to be unloved.
In a sense, he killed a vibrant life.
Five hundred thousand star coins can't buy back a life.
Nan Jiao tore the check into pieces and threw it in Klin's face, then slapped him twice more to vent her anger.
“You…” Klin clenched his fists, but did not fight back.
"Take the compensation back. After all, I didn't lose out because a young and handsome male let me play with him for free. In fact, I should give you some compensation, since male prostitutes always charge money."
She opened the table, took out star coins, and with her fair fingertips, picked up a "1 star coin" and handed it to Klin:
"And this is your price."
Surrounded by gossipy gazes, Krillin was instantly mortified.
He was handsome from a young age and was pursued by females from childhood to adulthood.
This was the first time someone had humiliated him like this.
Clutching the coin tightly, Klin's voice sounded like it was being squeezed out from between his teeth:
"In that case, you must never come to me crying and begging again."

Sang Lin looked at Klin returning from outside, her mind filled with doubt: "Where did you go? Didn't you say you'd wait for me at the store?"
Klin took off his suit jacket and replied, "A colleague was looking for me, so I went out for a bit."
"Don't tell me the slap mark on your face was from your colleague?" Sang Lin stormed forward angrily. "Kelin, are you hiding something from me? And the direction you came from, did you come from Nan Jiao's place?!"
Seeing that Klin didn't answer, Sang Lin felt a surge of panic and couldn't help but grab his collar: "Say it! Say it now!"
"Alright." Klin took her hand. "Don't you know who I like? My relationship with her was just a fling. I've only ever liked you."
“I admit, I shouldn’t have lied to you. I just went over and mocked her, and she accidentally slapped me twice. I didn’t tell you because I was worried you would overthink it.”
Sang Lin's heart finally settled down, but she was still half-believing and half-doubting.
Back in school, Sang Lin had a rabbit-like beastman she really liked, but that rabbit-like beastman was blind and preferred the good-for-nothing Nan Jiao. He even tore up her love letter when she confessed her feelings, openly stating that he only liked beastmen like Nan Jiao.
Sang Lin, who had never encountered any setbacks before, became the laughing stock of the school, and she blamed Nan Jiao for everything.
To vent her anger, she had her most loyal and handsome fiancé, Kelin, pretend to pursue Nan Jiao. After succeeding, he dumped Nan Jiao and got together with her, thus humiliating Nan Jiao.
Unsurprisingly, she succeeded, but she always felt that Klin seemed to have changed afterwards.
