Chapter 5: I Don't Care About a Second-hand Male
She slowly looked at Klin again and retorted with sharp words that were completely different from her soft appearance: "I wouldn't even take a second-hand male who has been used by someone else if he were given to me for free. I never thought that a female would be so eager to snatch him up."
"Sang Lin, do you have some kind of weird quirk? A junk collecting fetish?"
Sang Lin's face turned extremely dark, and Ke Lin was so angry that he almost couldn't stand up straight.
What is she saying...?
It took Sang Lin a while to find her voice: "Nan Jiao, don't go too far. I know it's because you love Klin too much. It's normal to say these angry words because you can't have him. After all, Klin is the most handsome male in the Peacock Clan. There are many crazy suitors like you, but unfortunately, Klin has firmly chosen me."
Nan Jiao's gaze swept across Kelin's face: "I've seen plenty of handsome males on the capital planet. How could I possibly still care about a second-hand male I've already had? You don't think all females in the world have the same terrible taste as you, do you?"
Sang Lin choked for a moment, and only when she heard the surrounding classmates' discussion did she remember that Nan Jiao's several ex-beast husbands were all exceptionally handsome, especially one of them who was the most beautiful woman in the entire interstellar space.
Sang Lin gritted her teeth in anger, still unwilling to give up, and retorted: "...What are you so arrogant about? No matter how much you've seen, you were still abandoned by your beastly husband. You're just a pitiful abandoned woman now."
Seeing that Nan Jiao remained silent, Sang Lin assumed she had hit the nail on the head and changed her previous dejected tone: "Nan Jiao, did I hit the nail on the head? Heh, don't you have anything to say?"
Nan Jiao took a glass of wine from a passing waiter's tray, swirled the liquid, and slowly fixed her somewhat cold gaze on Sang Lin: "I've been abandoned by my beastmen, so what? It's not like I'm going to die just because I lost a beastman. How much of a reaction do you expect from me? There are plenty of males in the world. I can just get tired of them and move on to a few more. Besides..."
Nan Jiao's cunning black eyes darted around: "How do you know I was the one who was dumped and not the one who initiated the breakup? Because I got tired of them, so I dumped them."
A series of exclamations arose from the surrounding area; many orcs were moved by these words.
"So it was Nan Jiao who took the initiative to divorce those beast husbands? Because she got tired of playing with them, she dumped those proud males? That sounds so cool. That's how we females should be."
“Nan Jiao is right. Losing a few male lovers doesn’t mean losing your life. Things change, and plenty of handsome males will come your way in the future.”
"Nan Jiao, I believe in you. It's only a matter of time before you return to being a high-level orc. Don't be too discouraged."
...
Hearing the sudden change in the surrounding chatter, Sang Lin was filled with anger. She forced a smile and said, "Nan Jiao, you're just being stubborn. Only you know how miserable you've been..."
[This female supporting character is quite interesting. I originally thought she was the innocent, naive type, but I didn't expect her to have such a strong temper.]
[It's pretty tragic to put yourself in the female supporting character's shoes. She had her crush stolen when she was in school, and now she has to make way for the male and female leads, and her child has to be raised by someone else.]
[The person upstairs doesn't understand, so don't talk nonsense. Why are you even relating this to the female supporting character? Blame it on her own bad luck for getting in the way of the male and female leads' romance. What's there to feel sorry for a supporting character? She's just a tool to advance the main couple's relationship.]
...
Nan Jiao's gaze swept across the barrage of comments, her eyes pausing slightly. This was the first time she had seen several comments praising her amidst a barrage of malicious remarks.
He lowered his head, took a sip of the wine in his glass, and frowned slightly.
The wines from interstellar regions are generally bitter and astringent, and they burn immediately when swallowed, making them unpleasant to drink.
Too lazy to deal with Sang Lin and the others anymore, Nan Jiao searched for Liu Yuan's figure in the crowd and asked a passing waiter, "Have you seen Liu Yuan? He's a tall, thin orc with purple hair, and he always has a cigar on him."
The waiter shook his head: "Mr. Liu Yuan left a long time ago, didn't you know? He arrived quite early, but left early because of an urgent matter."
"Leaving first?" Nan Jiao sighed. Wouldn't that mean her trip was for nothing?
The important thing is that Liu Yuan has a withdrawn personality, so it won't be so easy to see him again next time.
Nan Jiao was about to leave after thanking the waiter when she suddenly saw the comments on the screen:
[Isn't Liu Yuan the supporting character in the female lead's career storyline? How come he's on the Land City map?]
This guy has a strange temper and often avoids people. I remember it took the woman a lot of effort to get to know him.
[Liu Yuan hasn't left yet; he's upstairs being protected by bodyguards. But the female supporting character shouldn't bother; you don't have the protagonist's halo, there's no way you'll ever see Liu Yuan. Because in the author's plot, you're just a useless good-for-nothing.]
...
Nan Jiao only noticed the last sentence: Liu Yuan was still there.
A smile appeared on her lips; it seemed that the comments section, which seemed to only be watching the show, wasn't entirely useless.
Taking the bottle of brewed lychee wine out of her bag, Nan Jiao went upstairs to the second floor. She arrived at the private room where Liu Yuan was, as described in the comments, and then opened the bottle of lychee wine.
Fortunately, she had already inquired online and learned that Liu Yuan was a heavy drinker.
This lychee wine was brewed by her using traditional methods. It has a mellow and sweet taste that is not spicy at all, and its aroma can be smelled from afar.
A well-dressed elderly woman stopped and approached, asking, "Madam, what kind of wine is this? Is it homemade? I wonder if you sell it?"
Nan Jiao paused, glanced at the closed private room, and then deliberately raised her voice, "You really want to buy my wine? I brewed this using a secret family recipe, it's mellow and not bitter or astringent, and there's one last bottle here..."
Before the old woman could say anything, the door to the private room was suddenly flung open with a thud, and a gaudy-looking man with purple hair rushed in, only managing to slip on one shoe: "Wait!"
Liu Yuan's nostrils twitched, and he unconsciously swallowed: "How much is this bottle of wine? I'll buy it!"
The old woman was about to say something when Liu Yuan handed her a check. When she saw the amount on it, she left with a big smile on her face.
Liu Yuan looked at Nan Jiao, revealing a perfect smile with eight standard teeth: "Well, I really like this bottle of wine..." He rubbed his hands together impatiently: "How about 10,000 star coins?"
Nan Jiao shook her head.
Liu Yuan slowly extended two fingers.
Nan Jiao shook her head again: "I..."
"One hundred thousand?" Liu Yuan clicked his tongue in disbelief. "I didn't expect to run into a cunning businessman like me. Fine, one hundred thousand it is."
"no……"
"Hey, if you ask for more, you're going to be asking for the moon. We're old classmates, after all."
Nan Jiao's forehead vein throbbed: "Can you let me finish? Stop interrupting me."
"Ah? Cough cough, businessmen always have to seize the initiative, and the same goes for how they speak..." His tone weakened.
Seeing that Liu Yuan had finally quieted down, Nan Jiao raised the wine jar and said, "I can give you this jar of wine for free, but I have one condition: you have to listen to my cooperation proposal."
Upon hearing the first part of Nan Jiao's words, Liu Yuan's heart skipped a beat, but when he heard that the condition was simply to hear about a cooperation proposal, he immediately agreed.
Sang Lin, who had just come upstairs, paused upon hearing Nan Jiao's words, then let out a cold laugh: "Nan Jiao, are you here to discuss cooperation with Liu Yuan as well?"
