Provoking trouble

Provoking trouble

At midnight, the entire city was shrouded in darkness, and the moonlight was silent.

The X boxing ring was brightly lit and the atmosphere was electric.

The boxing ring manager jogged over and gestured for Gu Nan to come to the office, ostensibly to protect the boxers.

Although Gu Nan felt it was unnecessary.

She gazed at the man with lingering affection, but he expressionlessly looked away.

Her brow twitched, and she smiled playfully before following the person in charge away.

Angri curses continued behind them, and the person in charge gestured to the staff to calm them down, but to no avail.

Gu Nan suddenly thought of something and stopped in her tracks.

Before he could even open his mouth, the person in charge's expression tightened: "Sister Nan."

Before the words were even finished, the group of security guards turned serious and stared intently at him.

The air suddenly froze.

"Forehead."

A soft murmur broke the tense atmosphere.

Gu Nan pursed her lips speechlessly, patted the person in charge on the shoulder, gave him a reassuring look, and then turned to face the man on the stage, shrugging regretfully.

"I swear, I rarely disrespect handsome men, but..." she looked around and said shamelessly, "The audience was too enthusiastic, I couldn't help it."

Someone in the audience immediately retorted, "Have you no shame! Who's being enthusiastic towards you?"

Wan Yi whispered quietly, "She didn't want it."

Gu Nan calmly turned her gaze back, smilingly denying it: "We are a legitimate boxing venue, and the sale of human organs is prohibited. Thank you for your cooperation." She then called out towards the door, "Security, please be aware, and call the police immediately if there are any problems."

A burly woman in the audience stood up and challenged, "Do you dare to fight?"

"Hit you?" Gu Nan glanced at her up and down, then slowly adjusted his cuffs. "Sorry, we can't cater to guests' special fetishes here."

"you!"

"Of course." Changing the subject, she looked up at the man on stage, slowly blew him a kiss, and smiled faintly. "For some handsome guys with good looks, I'm happy to serve you. Would you like to exchange contact information?"

The woman gave her a disdainful look and sneered, "If you don't dare to fight, just say so. Don't make up so many excuses. That handsome guy is a gentleman and won't stoop to your level. Do you really think you're so great?"

She lowered her voice, just loud enough for everyone to hear, "Want my contact information? Why should I give it to you? Just because you like taking advantage of others?"

"How do you know he doesn't like me taking advantage of him?" Gu Nan smiled and looked at the man, watching his reaction.

The person in charge glanced at the man on stage who had maintained a calm expression throughout, leaned over and whispered tactfully, "He doesn't like it, he doesn't seem to want to talk to you."

"Hiss." Gu Nan slapped him away and said knowingly, "What do you know? He must have good upbringing. His mother taught him that boys should be reserved."

An uproar ensued.

The woman gritted her teeth and cursed, "How can there be such a foul-mouthed and shameless woman like you?"

Gu Nan was puzzled: "I'm taking advantage of him, not you. Why are you in such a hurry? Do you want me to take advantage of you?" She shook her head with a "tsk tsk" sound. "Sorry, I'm only interested in handsome men and beautiful women."

"If you're so capable, stop talking big. If you're too scared to fight me, then admit defeat. Otherwise, I'll beat you every time I see you."

Gu Nan stared at her for a while, then shifted her gaze to meet the person in charge's eyes, feigning helplessness: "What should we do? Your customer can't wait to be tortured."

Someone in the audience scoffed, "Three-time consecutive champion of the Xuncheng Boxing Tournament, who's really asking for a beating?"

"If you know what's good for you, apologize. She won't be as chivalrous as that gentleman on stage."

The woman moved her wrists and ankles, staring intently at her.

The arrogance in her eyes was familiar. Gu Nan pursed her lips. Yes, it was like her a few years ago.

She smiled brightly and said, "I'm in a good mood today, so I can help you quit your boxing addiction."

Great, another day of doing a good deed.

She rubbed her fists, but before she could make a further move, her arm was suddenly grabbed. Turning around, she saw the person in charge staring at her expectantly.

After a half-second pause, she shrugged and said helplessly, "Fine, I give up."

As he turned to leave, a hint of disappointment flashed across his eyes.

The woman's voice reached my ears faster than her footsteps.

"From now on, you'd better keep your head down and behave yourself!"

She stopped and turned around.

The crowd echoed her sentiments, their faces showing disdain as they pointed and whispered amongst themselves.

The streetlights illuminated their faces, making the scene resemble a bustling market.

The person in charge noticed her expression and called to the staff.

She silently raised her eyes, watching the spittle flying from the audience below.

"Smack."

A loud snap of the fingers, the sound gradually fading away.

She rubbed her ears and asked the person in charge beside her, "Is she lecturing me?"

The person in charge looked firm and solemnly assured them, "No, she's spouting nonsense. Let's go."

Gu Nan pouted and shook her head, saying seriously, "I feel like she's lecturing me."

The person in charge tugged at her sleeve, gesturing for her to lean closer, and whispered, "She hasn't outgrown the egocentric stage of childhood yet. Don't take it personally. Let's go."

"So what if I teach you a lesson?" The woman narrowed her eyes, her face radiating confidence and arrogance.

Gu Nan calmly asked the person in charge, "Can you tolerate this?"

The person in charge nodded frantically: "As the saying goes, if a dog bites you, can you bite the dog back?"

Gu Nan pushed away the person in charge's hand, strode towards the woman, and said in a clear voice, "Why did you bite? Don't you have hands?"

The person in charge stood there stunned, lowered his head, bit his lip, and thought about it. It made sense.

He thought to himself: Who actually said this old saying? It's not accurate at all.

"Teach her a lesson!"

A shout from the crowd brought the person in charge back to reality. He looked up and saw a woman throwing a punch at Gu Nan's face. He slapped his forehead, realizing something was wrong.

The next second.

"Bang!"

The woman walked straight past Gu Nan and crashed into the stone pillar.

...

Gu Nan slowly turned around, looked down at her, and clicked his tongue: "Do you have severe astigmatism?"

The woman said angrily, "You were the one who dodged it."

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone burst into laughter.

Gu Nan: "One of us must have an IQ problem, and that person isn't me."

"court death!"

The woman charged forward again with all her might. This time, she didn't underestimate her opponent. Instead, she threw punches while observing the woman's footwork.

Gu Nan gave a wicked smile, swung his arm to block her fist, and kicked her away in the process.

Because the two were fighting offstage, the space was limited. When the woman fell to the ground, she knocked over several sets of tables and chairs, and kettles and porcelain shattered all over the floor.

After the noise subsided, the venue fell completely silent.

Wan Yi fawned over him, puzzled, "When did you become so strong?"

Gu Nan straightened her clothes and casually said, "Oh, she probably bumped her head just now, she's weak."

Upon hearing this, Wan Yi shared the same thought as all the spectators in the boxing ring—was the Xuncheng boxing champion really that much of a fraud?

If he were to participate, wouldn't it be a piece of cake?

Gu Nan noticed the eagerness on his face and asked, "What are you going to do?"

Before she could finish speaking, the person dashed towards the door. Gu Nan called out, "Hey, where are you going?"

"Contest."

The sound faded, and the person had vanished.

Gu Nan rubbed her chin with one hand and said to the person in charge who was clutching his chest, "It seems that this person is also deeply entrenched in the egocentric stage of childhood."

The person in charge glared at her, then squatted down without a care for appearances, tenderly stroking the marble tabletop, grinding his back teeth as he said, "Grandma, you should go now."

Gu Nan ignored him, gazing at the empty arena in the distance, and sighed, "What a pity."

"What are you regretting?" The person in charge asked in a shrill voice, his face contorted with rage and a hint of hysteria. "I just bought this marble table, it was shipped from Brazil, and it hasn't even been on display for a week!"

"I couldn't get their contact information."

The person in charge closed his eyes, pointed, and said, "Go back to the office."

Gu Nan turned and left: "No, I'm going home."

The person in charge looked at her retreating figure, then at the marble shards, and was speechless.

The next morning, when he turned on his phone and saw a logistics message from Gu Nan indicating that the shipment originated in Brazil, the worry on his face finally disappeared.

-

At the Houhai coffee shop, Gu Nan put down her phone after sending the screenshot and looked at Sister Yan, who was rambling on and on, feeling utterly overwhelmed.

After dealing with one, there's another.

She interrupted Sister Yan: "Just swallow your anger. I have a way to make sure they can't tell you're not a real person."

"I heard J is a rather aloof woman. Am I aloof?" Sister Yan tightened the metal strip of her mask, looked around with her eyes, and then raised her hand to press her sunglasses, as if she wanted to press them into her skin.

Gu Nan was speechless: "You have a low-grade fever, like a criminal suspect who sells pornographic films."

"You son of a bitch!"

"They're here."

Sister Yan turned her head away and sat up straight.

Gu Nan stared at Sister Yan, hesitating for the last 20 seconds before deciding whether to send her away.

The scent of perfume filled her nostrils, and she sighed; it was too late.

Looking up, Sudi pulled out a chair without glancing to the side and sat down opposite her.

He exudes confidence, arrogance, and indifference from the inside out.

Gu Nan silently added a word in her mind: brain-dead.

"Where's J, the guy you invited?"

"Coming right away." Sudi sipped her coffee, raising her eyelids with a touch of arrogance: "And who is this?"

Gu Nan: "J".

Sudi: ?

"I told you to download the anti-fraud app, but you wouldn't listen."

It was quiet for a long time.

Sudi slammed down her coffee and snorted, "I agreed to compete with you to see who could find J first, to give you a fair chance to compete, not to let you cheat and waste my time. If you're not willing to cherish this opportunity, I can have my senior brother put pressure on President Ji, and the vice president position will still be mine."

Gu Nan held her coffee cup with an air of nonchalance, the sunlight shining on her profile, making her look even more languid.

She raised her hand to shield her eyes from the sun and said lazily, "My purpose is much simpler."

Sudi said coldly, "What?"

"Promote anti-fraud knowledge to employees of the New Times."

"Stubborn to the end." Sudi muttered, turning her head away from her, but couldn't help but steal a few glances at the woman wearing sunglasses.

Time slips away slowly.

No one came, no matter how long they waited.

Gu Nan unconsciously tapped the table with her fingertips, her long eyelashes drooping. After thinking for a long time, she spoke, half tentatively: "Does the Lu family want to enter Xuncheng?"

Sudi arrogantly turned his head: "Scared? Ha, don't even think about asking me for help."

Gu Nan and Sister Yan exchanged a glance and chuckled, "Could you please lower your IQ to the level of a human?"

Just as Sudi's eyes were about to blaze with anger again, the woman at the door extinguished the fire in her eyes with her cool voice.

"Sudi".

The three of them shifted their gaze together.

The two men looked resolute, while the other remained frozen in place.

Gu Nan stared at the man behind the woman and rubbed his eyes.

He got up and rubbed his eyes again.

Seeing her actions, Sister Yan was disheartened and said in a voice that could only be heard by the two of them, "What do you mean? Your plan has failed?"

"Shut up."

Gu Nan swallowed hard, glancing at Su Di's smug face, unsure who was in a worse situation.

Sister Yan pulled her closer again: "Are you angry out of embarrassment?"

Gu Nan said irritably, "Get angry."

Who would have thought that this idiot would call Lu Yushi here?

Who would have thought that Lu Yushi would walk straight to her upon entering the room?

She looked at Sudi, shrugged, and said she hadn't expected this either.

Lu Yushi stopped three steps in front of her.

Before speaking, she pressed down on Sister Yan's restless hand, looked up, and asked with amusement in her eyes, "What? Trying to pick me up?"

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw that Sudi seemed to have said something silently, and judging from his lip movements, he was probably cursing her.

"You seem very familiar."

Gu Nan chuckled: "The method of flirting with beautiful women usually doesn't work very well."

She deliberately took a step closer: "However, since you're so handsome, I might reluctantly agree to give you my contact information."

Lu Yushi glanced at her indifferently, showing no intention of taking out his phone.

She took another step closer, almost able to feel Lu Yushi's breath, and whispered, "If you miss this opportunity, who knows when you'll see me again?"

Sudi jumped up and said, "Don't seduce Senior Brother Lu."

Gu Nan suddenly realized, widened her eyes, pretended to be surprised, raised her hand to cover her mouth, and nodded: "So this is seduction."

As she gazed at Lu Yu, she took a small step forward, deliberately tripped, and fell into his arms. Her index finger slid down his lips as she murmured, "Then what is this?"
