Let go

Let go

After she finished speaking, "J" froze, her eyes darting left and right. Her mask covered most of her face, and beneath it, her lips were deathly pale. She paused for a moment, then grabbed her bag and left.

Gu Nan lazily raised her eyes and called out from behind her, "Stop."

"J" kept walking, spat lightly as he passed Sudi, and was about to reach the door.

“I’ll count to three,” Gu Nan said slowly as she got up and walked towards the door. “1…bang.”

"ah!"

"J" fell to the ground with a thud, leaving clear footprints on the back of his clothes. "J" propped himself up, brushed the dust off his clothes, and looked up with wide, angry eyes.

Sister Yan stared in disbelief, and said blankly, "We agreed on three numbers."

Gu Nan gestured with her chin towards the direction of "J": "She didn't agree."

Sister Yan: ?

Agree to what? Agree to you kicking her?

Just to be safe, Sister Yan swallowed and didn't ask.

Gu Nan, acting as if nothing had happened, kicked the person to the ground with her knee, slowly squatted down, hooked her chin with her fingers, and forced her to look up and meet her gaze: "Why are you impersonating J?"

"Who said I'm an imposter?"

Gu Nan smiled.

...because I am the real one.

"Who knows where this guy surnamed Su got this senior brother from? He just says he's not, so he's not?"

Gu Nan sincerely wanted to advise him that he couldn't afford to offend Su Di's senior.

She glanced sideways at Sudi, who was still in a daze, and lowered her voice: "Let me guess, how much money did you scam from her?"

J looked her straight in the eye: "Liar?"

Gu Nan nodded, then shook her head: "No, I earn money through my own abilities." She then changed the subject, "But to be honest, earning money from her is quite unskilled."

Anyone could come and fool Sudi.

I don't know how Sudi has survived until now.

"Or you can give me half of the stolen money, and I'll let you go."

"J" frowned, his pupils filled with doubt.

Gu Nan raised an eyebrow, about to say something more, when "J" suddenly grabbed her arm and pulled hard.

Her body plummeted uncontrollably, but she still smiled, hooking her leg around "J's" calf to regain her balance. "J," on the other hand, had to release her grip to avoid falling.

She lowered her head and patiently smoothed out the wrinkles in her clothes.

The next second, "J" was still determined to make another move.

Gu Nan fought her for several rounds with ease, each punch landing squarely. Gu Nan, who had the upper hand throughout, was caught off guard by the final blow and "J" staggered halfway. "J" took the opportunity to escape.

"Why!"

Sister Yan called out and caught up with Gu Nan: "Why did you let her go?"

Gu Nan gave her a look that suggested she was an idiot, then brushed the dust off her clothes and said, "Isn't it obvious? I haven't had it done."

Sister Yan: ...

"Have you no shame? Who beat up our provincial champion at the boxing gym last night?"

A gentle spring breeze caressed her face. Gu Nan tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, gazing in the direction "J" had left, and sighed, "Looks like things aren't going to be peaceful."

Sister Yan's expression tightened: "What happened?"

Gu Nan tilted her head, her face inscrutable: "Everyone's asking me if I have any shame. I'm wondering, who would want that thing? Maybe some mysterious organization is trying to recruit me."

...

With silence finally around her, Gu Nan's eyebrows curved into a smile.

She calmly sat back in her chair, leaning lazily against the backrest. With one hand supporting her chin, she slowly raised her eyes, tapped the table with her index finger, and attracted Sudi's attention.

How much money were you scammed out of?

Sudi sniffed hard and snorted, "What are you doing?"

Gu Nan smiled and uttered three words: "Laughing at you."

As he spoke, he leaned over and pulled out two tissues, handing them over.

A gentle breeze swept by, crumpling the edges of the tissue.

Sudi glared at her fiercely, watching the tissue dance in the air, refusing to take it, and said sternly, "I don't need your crocodile tears."

"Huh? I didn't cry, did I?" Gu Nan spread her hands innocently, looking at Sister Yan for approval.

"Have some decency." Sister Yan glared at her, bent down, pulled out a tissue, and handed it to Su Di.

Sudi seized the opportunity to grasp Sister Yan's hand, his eyes unblinking, and asked, "Are you J?"

Sister Yan: ?

How much do you charge?

Sister Yan: ? ?

Gu Nan smacked her lips, stood up, walked over to Su Di, snatched her phone without saying a word, glanced at it, and held it up so the screen was facing Su Di.

"look up."

Sudi didn't react for a moment and looked up blankly.

Gu Nan unlocked her phone and quickly tapped a few times, soon adding an anti-fraud app icon to her home screen.

She shoved the phone back into Sudi's hand and earnestly advised, "You can lose your phone, but you must never uninstall the apps. They're more important than you, understand?"

The air froze for a few seconds.

"You're crazy."

Sudi stomped her foot, glared at her, grabbed her phone, and ran away.

Gu Nan watched her retreating figure, then glanced at the tissue she hadn't given away. She spotted the makeshift cat bed in the corner, walked over, bent down, tossed the tissue in, and said in a serious tone, "Wipe your face."

The cat peeked out from its cat bed: "Meow?"

"I'm talking to you, wipe your face."

Sister Yan: ...

Her eyes darted around, and she walked over, asking again, "Is it Lu from Lu Yushi?"

Gu Nan thought for a moment: "Lu, one of the surnames in the Hundred Family Surnames."

"You know him?"

"I don't know him."

Sister Yan couldn't help but roll her eyes again: "Why would he tell you 'this is the last time' if he doesn't even know you?"

"Can't you tell? He's interested in me." Gu Nan said matter-of-factly. "He's probably trying to say something random to get my attention."

Sister Yan pursed her lips, looking disgusted: "Please, just let it all out internally."

"You're just jealous."

The coffee shop saw off its last two customers in the evening, and the two walked out the door bickering as they went.

Gu Nan was a step behind, looking down to reply to Wan Yi's message, and put away her phone before Sister Yan turned around.

It was difficult to hail a taxi in front of the store, so they slowly walked side by side to the street corner.

The bright pink sports car arrived before the taxi.

The car came to a stop, the window rolled down, and a pair of bright, alluring peach blossom eyes appeared.

“Nanbao…”

"Get out." That shut him up.

Wan Yi glanced at Sister Yan beside her, opened her mouth, but in the end only said silently, "Rude."

After saying that, he turned to the rearview mirror to fix his hair, a standard smile curving his lips, and tilted his head again to look at Sister Yan: "Hey beautiful lady, are you an adult yet? Can I get your contact information?"

Gu Nan said expressionlessly, "Three seconds, get out of my sight."

"I'll come pick you up in a bit."

The sports car sped away.

Complimented on her youth, Sister Yan smiled broadly. Watching the sports car disappear from sight, she casually asked, "Your friend? What does he do?"

"A ride-hailing driver."

Sister Yan took a deep breath, looked directly into her eyes, her face a mixture of emotions: "I don't know people, but I don't know cars? That's a 911. Do you think anyone would use a 911 to drive a ride-hailing car?"

Gu Nan remained calm: "Don't judge a book by its cover... oh no, get the car."

Sister Yan spat and sighed, "He's quite handsome."

Gu Nan pursed her lips and shifted her gaze: "I'll go get it checked out when I have time." Suddenly remembering something, she laughed out loud, "I might as well bring him along. I wonder if we can get a discount if we go together as a group."

...

Sister Yan rolled her eyes at her, annoyed.

"If you take a liking to him, I'll laugh at you for the rest of my life."

"What should I do? I think I'm falling for him."

"Being excited and having palpitations are two different things. I'll get you an expert tomorrow."

Sister Yan was speechless after being rebuked by her. She turned her head away and stopped looking at her. She took two steps forward and then turned back thoughtfully: "I feel like I've seen him somewhere before. He looks very familiar."

"Are you roasting chestnuts? Everyone else's are roasted."

...

Sister Yan clenched her fist: "Don't bother seeing me off, just get lost."

Gu Nan watched the people get into the car with amusement. As the car drove away, the smile on her face faded, and she took out her phone to send a message to Wan Yi.

[He's gone.]

The 911 reversed and stopped in front of her. As soon as the passenger door opened, Wan Yi began to ramble on.

“Didn’t I tell you not to have any designs on Lu Yushi? I’m not kidding you. Back then, someone impersonated his fiancée.” Wan Yi lowered his voice. “Later, someone saw that woman homeless on the streets of a foreign country. She was said to be in a terrible state.”

Gu Nan scoffed, leaned back, put her hands behind her head, looked straight ahead, her long eyelashes drooping slightly, obscuring the unreadable meaning in her eyes.

"You know, our relationship is only strong when things are peaceful. If Lu Yushi attacks you and something happens to you, I'll be the first to run away. Don't expect me to save you."

Gu Nan glanced away, her lips twitching uncontrollably.

"real."

Gu Nan: "I will definitely be your friend for life."

Wan Yi leaned to the side, his lips curving into a smile he tried to suppress several times. He turned his head and waved his hand dismissively, saying, "I'll consider it."

"When you get old, I'll sell you health supplements. I reckon I can make a fortune off you."

"Damn it!" After cursing, she couldn't help but advise, "Lu Yushi is not as easy to deal with as you think. Of the six children in the Lu family, the old man dislikes Lu Yushi's father the only one. But out of the 13 grandchildren, he chose Lu Yushi as his successor. Guess how ruthless he is."

As the words faded, the car fell silent. While waiting at a red light, Wan Yi glanced at Gu Nan and saw that she had her eyes closed, whether from sleepiness or feigning sleep, he couldn't tell.

The sun had completely set outside the window, and the sky was devoid of sun, moon, and stars, leaving only a hazy white expanse.

The streetlights hadn't been turned on yet. The road was wide, and as far as the eye could see, an endless expanse of darkness enveloped everything.

He first met Gu Nan backstage at a boxing match. Gu Nan had a domineering temper and an arrogant and domineering face. If it weren't for her obvious voluptuous figure, he would have even doubted Gu Nan's gender.

Gradually, their relationship became more and more familiar, and he tacitly accepted Gu Nan's arrogance and haughtiness.

Seeing her resting with her eyes closed at this moment, I was surprised to see a certain composure and calmness in her.

"hiss."

With the red light at the last second, Wan Yi shook his head, looked away, and thought to himself, "It must be because the lights aren't on."

Rather than trusting Gu Nan's composure and steadiness, he preferred to believe that Lu Yushi was gentle and domestic.

"Well."

Is Lu Yushi gentle and domestic?

Each one is more outrageous than the last.

"Are you practicing your ventriloquism?" Gu Nan opened her eyes and said with disdain, "So, you know your abilities are limited, and you're planning to scare your opponent to death with your ventriloquism in the next boxing match?"

Wan Yi curled his lip, thinking to himself, "To hell with his composure and steadiness! How blind can he be to associate Gu Nan with those four words?"

Are you going to the boxing match next Wednesday?

Gu Nan stared straight ahead, her voice flat and mocking: "Should I help you collect your corpse, or treat your wounds?"

...

Gu Nan's phone vibrated. She looked down and saw the long-unseen Buddha's Hand avatar.

The other party asked if you are free next Wednesday.
