Chapter 23

Chapter 23

Wei Ge's hand froze on the door handle. He turned around and saw Xing Zhao who had just come upstairs.

"Uncle Xing, I..." Wei Ge subconsciously wanted to explain for some reason, even though he was going back to his room.

"Have a good rest. I'll take you to the hospital for a full physical examination tomorrow." Xing Zhao didn't have any other expression.

It turned out that he was not invited to sleep in his room.

Wei Ge blushed a little at his own reaction, and immediately put on a fake but bright smile: "Okay, good night, Uncle Xing."

-

The next day, Wei Ge was woken up by Xing Zhao.

Although it sounds a bit unserious, it is true. When Wei Ge was half asleep and half awake, he felt someone walking on his body.

Of course, there were some dreams mixed in when he was half asleep and half awake, and the content of the dreams did contain elements of the comics he usually liked to read.

But when he opened his eyes and saw Xing Zhao staring at him, Wei Ge felt a little hot.

I dreamed of Xing Zhao last night, and I have to keep this matter to myself.

Xing Zhao didn't hang around Wei Ge, he just covered Wei Ge with the quilt, but Wei Ge was not honest and kicked it off after covering himself.

There is no way. The child is still sick, and not covering himself with a blanket is definitely a level of disobedience.

Xing Zhao could only press Wei Ge onto the bed. This didn't matter in reality, but it made the dream seem richer.

Wei Ge hummed twice at first. Xing Zhao felt that Wei Ge was not feeling well again, so he quickly touched Wei Ge's face and forehead to test his body temperature.

As he was touching her, Wei Ge woke up, and after waking up, he naturally couldn't fall asleep again.

Wei Ge and Xing Zhao looked at each other. For some reason, neither of them spoke. After a few seconds of silence, Xing Zhao spoke first.

"Are you feeling better?" Xing Zhao's voice was gentle. When Wei Ge listened to Xing Zhao's words, he felt that the air around him became softer and a little sweeter.

"Much better." Wei Ge said. The hoarseness from yesterday was gone. The doctors in Xing Zhao's family were all top-notch, and the medicine they prescribed was naturally suitable for his condition.

For the first time, Wei Ge felt that it was great to be rich. There is a difference between being rich and being very rich.

"Then pack up and I'll take you to the hospital for a physical examination."

Originally, Wei Ge thought that such a minor illness did not require a physical examination, but he could not resist Xing Zhao's dominance and was forced to go to the hospital to draw three tubes of blood.

Wei Ge was not too afraid of having his blood drawn, as he was not as fragile as he looked. However, perhaps Xing Zhao felt that he was afraid, so she took the initiative to grab his hand when having his blood drawn.

Xing Zhao's gentle and broad palms held Wei Ge's tender and white hands. The two people's body shapes were indeed a little different. Xing Zhao looked at Wei Ge's hands and began to understand why he always wanted to protect this child.

He looked too weak.

The child next door was held down by two parents, and his cries of pain echoed throughout the entire floor. A nurse was drawing blood, and the parents were shielding the child's eyes to prevent him from seeing the blood rolling out.

As he watched, Xing Zhao also stretched out his hand to block Wei Ge's sight.

It was dark in front of Wei Ge, and the whole world seemed to be wrapped up by Xing Zhao. The man's two hands seemed to be connected to form a passage.

Just like that hug on the first floor of the hospital that day.

Wei Ge could sense that he was not good at it, but it was this clumsy warmth that could touch his heart which had never been opened in all these years.

The results of the examination will have to wait for a few days. Wei Ge returned to school as usual, and Xing Zhao went to get off work as usual.

However, Wei Ge's daily travel mode changed from being driven by a driver or walking alone to being picked up and dropped off by Xing Zhao himself.

Wei Ge would occasionally feel strange because Xing Zhao seemed very busy. Several times, after Xing Zhao took him home, he would go back to the company to work overtime. Moreover, the school, home and Xing Zhao's office formed a triangle.

In short, it was not on the way at all, but no matter how Wei Ge said he could do it, Xing Zhao would still show up at the school gate on time.

On Thursday night, Wei Ge sat alone in the restaurant eating dinner, thinking about how to get home the next night.

These days Wei Ge often takes time to video chat with Wei Mingzhe. At least in the videos, Wei Mingzhe and Jiang Lin are in good condition.

My father is not so sick that he can tell something is wrong at a glance.

This is a good thing. As long as Wei Mingzhe can still pretend to be healthy, it means that he still has the capital to be healthy, and that he still has a chance to recover.

Wei Ge looked at the dishes in front of him. There were about four or five dishes on the table, and they were all delicacies from land and sea.

It is difficult for a family to have uncommon birds and animals as their daily food. Some Wei Ge even wondered if they would be locked up for reflection after eating them.

But since he fell ill, he has been eating these things almost every day. Wei Ge doesn't like them, but Xing Zhao disagrees.

He said that Wei Ge was too weak, and from now on he would take great care of Wei Ge until his body was in good health.

For someone who has been malnourished since childhood, being able to pass the exam is already a blessing.

I don’t know how much effort and money it takes to get the green light.

However, Xing Zhao was too strong and Wei Ge had no way to refuse, so he suggested ordering fewer dishes. Xing Zhao usually didn't eat at home and was too busy at work to eat too much, so it would be a waste.

Xing Zhao listened, but not completely. The number of dishes he ordered decreased from a dozen at the beginning to four or five.

Halved, this is Xing Zhao’s bottom line.

The nutritionist's diet was reduced, so Wei Ge's nutrition was not fully replenished. He had to make up for what he had not gained over the years.

Wei Ge frowned and finished the black chicken soup in the bowl. He ate everything according to the standards given by Xing Zhao. His cell phone lit up and Xing Zhao sent a message.

[Xing Zhao]: What time does get out of class end tomorrow?

[Wei Ge]: I don’t have classes in the afternoon.

Wei Ge's class schedule is the same every week. It will only become less frequent in the later period, not more. He has two and a half days off a week, which is a happy schedule for college students going home.

[Xing Zhao]: Okay, then I will pick you up from school at noon and accompany you home.

Wei Ge looked at the screen for a while. Xing Zhao had been so busy these days, how could he still find time to go home with him.

[Wei Ge]: I can go back by myself, you go back to work.

[Xing Zhao]: I'll give it to you.

[Wei Ge]: Won’t your boss be angry if you take leave frequently?

Of course not. Why would you be angry about asking for leave yourself? Xing Zhao is the boss.

However, Xing Zhao still replied to Wei Ge.

[Xing Zhao]: No, the boss is a very nice person. He is handsome and easy to talk to.

It was the first time he praised himself, and he was quite nervous. It didn't feel like something someone like Xing Zhao would say, but he did say it.

To use Ji Zeyu's words to evaluate Xing Zhao recently: "Old Xing, I think you have become more and more like a human being recently."

After finishing his meal, Wei Ge returned to his room and turned on his computer. The poster for the joint competition between ARKI and the Academy of Fine Arts had now been posted on the homepage. The event would begin in three weeks, and the fact that they were warming up so long in advance also showed the importance the official attached to the competition.

After looking at the latest posters and progress, Wei Ge logged into the account he used to register for the competition and received a background notification.

"Dear Wei, welcome to the league's internal recommendation qualification. Please download the application form, sign it, and upload it within three days. The recommendation officer will judge your work and resume. The winner will skip the first round and enter the second round directly."

Wei Ge glanced at the time of the background notification. It was three days ago. He had a cold and fever and hadn't looked at the computer these days. If he didn't take a look today, he might have missed it.

I glanced at my watch and saw that the time on it was less than an hour away from the deadline.

There was no time to go to school to print the documents the next day, so Wei Ge had to go downstairs to find Lao Qin. Lao Qin was tidying up the dishes and packing up today's food to take home.

After Wei Ge fell ill, Lao Qin's quality of life also improved.

Xing Zhao gave Lao Qin special treatment. The housekeeper ate whatever the host ate. He started to make up for it when he was over fifty years old.

Even Lao Qin's parents, who are in their eighties, said at home: "Thanks to the young master, I'm afraid he will live to be a hundred years old."

"Old Qin!" Wei Ge trotted to Old Qin's side. Old Qin turned his head to look at him and stopped what he was doing.

"What's wrong, young master? You're not full."

Wei Ge has two "fathers" here, both of whom are worried that he won't have enough to eat.

"I'm full now. I want to ask if there is a printer at home. I want to print something."

"There's one in Mr. Xing's study, but I don't know the computer password. You can send him a message."

Wei Ge nodded and sent a message to Xing Zhao while going upstairs.

Xing Zhao replied quickly. He immediately sent the password to his private phone. Firstly, he trusted Wei Ge not to rummage through it, and secondly, he didn't keep important company documents on his computer.

After all, people come and go in the house every day, and he has no idea how many servants have cleaned his study. He shouldn't be so unguarded.

Wei Ge pushed open the door of Xing Zhao's study, and a strong sandalwood scent wafted out of the room, which inexplicably felt a little familiar.

This might be the flavor Wei Mingzhe likes to order at home, but the smell in Xing Zhao's room is very light and won't make Wei Ge feel too pungent.

Although Xing Zhao and Wei Mingzhe are not of the same age, there is indeed a reason why they can become friends.

They all looked like veteran cadres, and their preferences were similar. For example, sandalwood was something that none of the students in school would order.

Wei Ge opened the computer according to the password given by Xing Zhao. Xing Zhao's computer looked just like him, clean and simple in business style.

The wallpaper on the screen is still the original initial wallpaper of the computer, a green grassland with mountains and blue sky in the distance, giving people a feeling of peace and tranquility.

There wasn't even a single piece of software on the screen; even my computer was hidden by Xing Zhao.

I didn’t feel that Xing Zhao had any mysophobia when we were together normally, but this screen gave me the feeling that he had a serious mental mysophobia.

Wei Ge originally wanted to go to the ARKI website and download the registration form, but when he was looking for a browser, he found that ARKI's software had been downloaded on Xing Zhao's computer.

It's so weird.

Putting Xing Zhao and ARKI together gives a feeling of a broken dimensional wall. After all, ARKI is a gathering place for the second dimension, and Xing Zhao doesn't look like a second dimension person at all.

In terms of temperament, Wei Ge would rather believe that Xing Zhao is the perverted old man who likes to go to male model bars to look for young girls as rumored by ARKI.

Compared to the cat-eared butler and cosplayer, this setting is probably more in line with his usual style.

Wei Ge clicked on the ARKI software. He didn't want to pry into Xing Zhao's privacy. After all, looking at other people's playlists and posted videos in the Internet age is like taking off a vest and running naked.

I originally thought of logging out of my account with one click, which would be quick and convenient, and I could leave after I was done, but Xing Zhao's name was too conspicuous.

Wei Ge saw two big words "White Night" written clearly in the upper right corner of the platform.
