“You bully her because of her lowly status, use your power to oppress her, coerce her, and humiliate her.”
Gu Zhixing's voice was low and hoarse, as if squeezed out from between his teeth. Each word was like a heavy stone hitting the air, carrying endless resentment.
He tilted his head slightly, his eyes red-rimmed, filled with pain, as if a flame was burning within them, yet tightly bound by endless darkness.
He watched Shen Jintang grow up in Kyoto step by step, even dealing with documents late into the night, without a moment's rest.
I tried so hard to live, so hard to put down roots in Kyoto, but now it's all ruined.
These fabricated and baseless accusations have rendered all of Shen Jintang's efforts over this period futile.
His reputation was ruined, he lost his official position, and he was even expelled from the capital.
Why should someone who wouldn't say a harsh word to another be humiliated like this?
He couldn't imagine how much pain she must be in right now.
The thought of Shen Jintang never crying or making a fuss when she was angry, but just remaining silent and keeping all her grievances and anger to herself, made his heart ache terribly, as if an invisible hand was clenching it tightly, making it almost impossible for him to breathe.
Gu Zhixing's eyes turned red, like a paranoid madman, letting his reason be devoured by his emotions.
Gu Junze, however, did not notice anything amiss, or perhaps he simply did not care.
He is the Crown Prince, the Heir Apparent, and the future Emperor. No matter how angry Gu Zhixing is, can he kill him?
Therefore, everything Gu Zhixing is doing now is nothing more than an ant trying to shake a tree in his eyes.
He slightly raised his chin, a cold smile curving his lips, looking aloof and superior.
Gu Junze sneered as he slowly got up from the ground, his wounds still throbbing.
Gu Zhixing was really ruthless; he probably broke several of Gu Zhixing's ribs.
He gently touched his wound, his eyes full of disdain: "What's there to feel sorry for such a lowly creature?"
He dusted himself off, his tone flippant as if discussing a trivial matter, and said, "Another day, your cousin will send you a few clean, well-behaved little girls, and you can do whatever you want with them..."
“Cousin, you said you ruined what she wanted most. An eye for an eye, shouldn’t you give her what you want in return?” Gu Zhixing suddenly spoke up, his voice carrying a chilling coldness, as if it came from an ice cellar.
His eyes were as sharp as a knife, staring straight at Gu Junze.
In that instant, Gu Junze felt a chill creep up his spine, as if he had fallen into an ice cellar.
Gu Zhixing drew a sword, its blade gleaming coldly in the dim light, as if even the air itself was frozen by its chilling killing intent.
He walked towards Gu Junze step by step, but in his mind were all the efforts Shen Jintang had made to climb up the social ladder in Kyoto, working his way up step by step.
But now, Gu Junze has dashed Shen Jintang's hopes of staying in Kyoto, and all her efforts have been in vain.
“Cousin, you are the Crown Prince, the heir apparent, a man of noble status.” Gu Zhixing’s voice was low and cold, each word seemingly squeezed out from between his teeth, filled with endless hatred.
Gu Junze finally noticed that something was wrong with Gu Zhixing. His face turned pale instantly, and a hint of panic flashed in his eyes.
He instinctively stepped back, and with each step he took, the chair behind him made a slight creak, as if reminding him that he had nowhere left to retreat.
"What...what do you want to do?"
Gu Junze's voice trembled slightly as he tried to maintain his dignity, but the trembling in his voice betrayed his true feelings.
“Cousin, I have never heard of a disabled person being able to ascend the throne.”
Gu Zhixing's voice was deep and cold, as if it came from the depths of hell, carrying a chilling aura.
Having been the heir apparent in Kyoto for so many years, even if he was a complete playboy, Gu Zhixing knew the temperaments and weaknesses of everyone in Kyoto.
What he, the crown prince cousin, cares about most is the throne, isn't it?
Since he had ruined Shen Jintang, he would also give up on Shen Jintang's idea of ascending the throne.
An eye for an eye, how fair!
"Tell me, if I cut off one of your legs, would you still be able to sit comfortably in the position of crown prince?"
He slowly raised the longsword in his hand, its blade gleaming with a cold, sharp light in the dim light, as if it could freeze the temperature of the entire room.
His gaze was more serious than ever before; his deep eyes burned with a fierce anger and determination, as if he had already disregarded life and death.
Gu Junze finally realized the seriousness of the situation. His face turned deathly pale, his eyes were filled with terror, and his voice trembled uncontrollably: "You...you dare not. I am the Crown Prince. If you dare to touch me, you will pay a price you cannot afford."
He tried to intimidate Gu Zhixing with his status, but his trembling voice sounded so weak that he even found it laughable.
"cost?"
Gu Zhixing sneered, a hint of suicidal obsession flashing in his eyes, as if he was prepared to perish together with everyone else.
He said, word by word, "How about I cut off one of your legs and give you two in return?"
His voice carried a chilling calmness, as if he had already placed himself outside of life and death.
"Let's all die together, none of us will have an easy time!"
Suddenly, Gu Zhixing kicked Gu Junze and raised his knife to strike.
The blade sliced through the air with a sharp whistling sound, as if even time itself was being torn apart by this single strike.
